Opportunities and challenges in adapting to AI-Driven search services (English)
Abstract [en]

Online search behavior has undergone significant changes over the past year, with an increasing use of AI technologies in search processes. Several industry experts identify signs of a shift in how users seek information.

This study explores how professionals working in SEO perceive the opportunities and challenges arising from these evolving search behaviors, with a particular focus on the concept of GEO "Generative Engine Optimization". Using a qualitative approach, six interviews were conducted with SEO experts.

The analysis is structured around the UTAUT2 model, which highlights factors such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, habit, personal innovativeness, and security and trust.

The findings indicate that GEO is regarded as an important tool for the future. However, the perceived usefulness at present is limited, leading to low prioritization. Many participants express a strong interest in new technologies and a willingness to explore new solutions, yet uncertainty surrounding the outcomes, current demand, and aspects of security results in a cautious approach. Traditional SEO strategies remain dominant in practice, although a shift toward GEO is emerging among some professionals.
