Design för Förtroende : Hur Användarupplevelsen Påverkar Acceptansen av ett AI-drivet Sökverktyg på Arbetsplatsen (Swedish)
Abstract [en]

As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more common in the workplace, it is important to understand how people experience and accept these tools. This thesis looks at how user experience (UX) affects trust and acceptance of AI-powered search engines, focusing on a real company setting where employees search for internal “Know How” documents.

Using a Human Centered Design (HCD) approach, the study used a qualitative method in the form of semi-structured interviews and think a loud sessions with employees who would be the target users of the system.

The results showed that people are more likely to trust and use the AI system when the user interface (UI) is simple, familiar and transparent. Being able to ask questions in natural language, trace results back to their original source and having the necessary data visible helped generate confidence in the system. While users were mostly positive, some concerns were raised about privacy, habits and system complexity. The study highlights how a clear and intuitive UI design can lead to the users perceiving the AI system as more helpful, trustworthy and easier to use. It also shows how involving real users early in the design process is key to creating tools that people will want to work with and that work over time.
