Denna systematiska litteraturstudie undersökte utifrån aktuell forskning, vad som kännetecknar hur unga med funktionsnedsättning ser på sin fritid. Utifrån teorierna om självmotivation och självbestämmande undersöktes även hur unga med funktionsnedsättning upplever motivation och självförmåga kopplat till fritidsaktiviteter. Avslutningsvis lyfte studien fram hur fritidsverksamheter kan utvecklas till förmån för att unga med funktionsnedsättning skall kunna delta. Tio vetenskapliga artiklar valdes ut för granskning och en tematisk analys med både induktiv och deduktiv metod användes för att tolka materialet.

Den induktiva analysen resulterade i fyra olika teman, vilka var: sammanhang,social acceptans, fenomenet inkludering och det egenvalda.

Den deduktiva analysen utgick från självbestämmandeteorin (self-determination, Ryan & Deci, 2000) och teorin om självförmåga (self-efficasy, Bandura, 1977).

Resultatet visade att det fanns en koppling mellan fritidsaktivitetens utformning och ungas med funktionsnedsättning upplevelse av motivation och självförmåga. Det framkom även att unga med funktionsnedsättning upplevde fritidsaktiviteter som komplexa och till viss del villkorade. Dessutom var deltagandet i aktiviteter nära sammankopplat med möjligheten att delta, vilket i sin tur handlade om aktivitetens design, utformning och pedagogiska grundförutsättningar.

This systematic literature study studied, based on current research, what characterized how young people with disabilities viewed their leisure time. Based on the theories of self-motivation(Ryan & Deci, 2000) and self-determination (Bandura, 1977), it also focused on how young people with disabilities experienced motivation and self-efficacy linked to leisure activities.

Finally, the study highligted how leisure activities can be developed to benefit the participation of young people with disabilities. Ten scientific articles were selected for review and a thematic analysis using both inductive and theoretical method was used to interpret the material.

The inductive analysis resulted in four different themes, which were: context, socialacceptance, the phenomenon of inclusion and self-chosen activities. The theoretical analys were based on the mentioned theories.

The results showed that there is a connection between the design of leisure activities and the experience of motivation and self-efficacy with these young people with disabilities. It also appears that young people with disabilities experience leisure activities as complex and to some extent conditional and that participation in activities is closely linked to the opportunity to participate, which in turn is about the design, layout and pedagogical prerequisites of the activity.
