This bachelor’s thesis addresses the development of three recommended concepts for a work light intended for off-road rescue vehicles. The client is Combitech in Trollhättan, and the assignment is carried out in the manner of a potential consulting assignment for one of Combitech’s clients. The project is initiated due to an identified need to replace an existing lighting solution with an optimized concept that meets the necessary requirements for military-grade vehicle equipment. The goal is to improve quality without increasing cost. A specification of requirements is defined based on public military standards, followed by extensive brainstorming and benchmarking. An electronics concept is assembled, based on a diode module connected in series with a resistor and a potentiometer to allow light intensity regulation. In a selection process, the most promising mechanical concepts are further developed through CAD modeling and FEM analysis. After an additional selection process, three concepts are highlighted as particularly promising. The cost of the three concepts and their components is calculated and summarized in BOM (Bill Of Materials) lists. One concept is based on a milled lamp base and is suitable for small-scale production, one is based on an extruded aluminum profile and is suitable for larger-scale production, and a third is presented as a potentially ready-made solution
