Design of a Digital Support System for Managing Visual Deviations : a Study with GKN Aerospace (English)
Abstract [en]

This thesis project has been carried out in collaboration with GKN Aerospace and aims to develop a prototype for a web-based system for managing minor production deviations. The background is that current handling often occurs informally, which complicates traceability and communication. Through a combination of needs analysis, requirements gathering, and iterative prototype development, a system has been created that enables registration and visualization of deviations, including image support. The prototype has been tested by users and is perceived as simple and clear. The included features support increased documentation, better decision-making, and improved communication between roles in the production process. The results indicate that the system has the potential to become a valuable complement to existing quality routines. Suggested areas for further development include authorization, improved editing functionality, and integration with existing systems. The work demonstrates that a well-designed, user-friendly tool for informal deviation management can contribute to a more structured and consistent way of working within the industry.
