Trust in AI in Recruitment : A Study on Recruiters’ Experiences of AI-Based Screening Tools (English)
Abstract [en]

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly used in recruitment, specially through AI based selection tools, intended to improve efficiency and reduce human bias. This study explores how recruiters perceive trust in such tools and how that trust influences their willingness to use them. Based on qualitative interviews with recruiters from both the public and private sectors, the results show that trust is shaped by multiple interacting factors: technical credibility, transparency, perceived usefulness, and a sense of control.

Ethical and social concerns also play a significant role. The findings highlight that trustis central to the adoption of AI tools and influenced by both individual attitudes and the design of the technology. The study offers insights into how AI can be implemented in recruitment in a way that promotes trust and responsible use.
