Abstract [sv]

Två validerade instrument användes: Health - Promoting Leadership Conditions (HPLC) och Trust in Leadership and Supervisors.

Abstract [en]

Health-promoting leadership and trust in supervisors are both important for                  employee well-being, yet research combining the two is limited. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between employees’ perceptions of health-promoting leadership and their trust in their immediate supervisor, using Social Exchange Theory as the theoretical framework.

A quantitative cross-sectional design was used. Data was collected through a digital survey completed by 114 people. Two validated instruments were used: Health-Promoting Leadership Conditions and Trust in Leadership and Supervisors. The study shows that health-promoting leadership has a strong positive correlation with increased trust in one's manager. Based on Social Exchange Theory, this can be interpreted as meaning that when leaders actively promote employee health, they are perceived as supportive and committed, which in turn strengthens mutual trust.
