Ensure competence after training (English)
Abstract [en]
In successful organizations, a clear vision, continuous improvements, and commitment from all employees are crucial for achieving long-term success.
This study focuses on how the company ensures competency in case management following training, which is critical for efficiency and quality in operations.
The study is conducted at the case company Vattenfall Eldistribution AB and addresses specific challenges in managing temporary electrical connections. Through a combination of case studies, observations, and interviews, the current methods and their effectiveness in preparing employees for practical tasks are examined.
The aim of the study is to identify deficiencies in the current training process and suggest improvements. Data collection includes technical reports, direct observation of training sessions, and structured as well as semi-structured interviews with both new and experienced employees.
The results highlight the need for more structured training programs and better documentation. It also emerges that improved communication between all employees is necessary to ensure the knowledge required to handle cases correctly. To address these challenges, the following measures are proposed:
• Standardization of training content and methodology.
• Implementation of a system for monitoring and assessing an employee's skills after training is completed.
• Expanding the routine to include the entire work process for temporary connections.
These strategies aim to ensure employee knowledge after training.
