Denna studie belyser den centrala rollen av användarinvolvering i utvecklingsprocessen av ett inventeringsprogram med fokus på användarcentrerad design. Att skapa ett system som möter användarnas behov och är användarvänligt kräver aktiv medverkan från de slutgiltiga användarna under hela utvecklingsfasen. Uddevalla Energi har bidragit till denna forskning genom att integrera sina slutanvändare i utvecklingsprocessen för att säkerställa att det resulterande inventeringsprogrammet är så effektivt och användarvänligt som möjligt. Studiens metodologiska ramverk omfattar användning av User Centered Design (UCD) som designprocess och Action Design Research (ADR) som designstrategi, där kvalitativ data samlades in genom fokusgruppintervjuer med representanter från Uddevalla Energi. Genom en iteration av datainsamling, utveckling och utvärdering identifierade studien fem centrala designprinciper från ADR-cykeln, tillsammans med fyra teman som framkom under förstudien och datainsamlingen. Dessa insikter och principer kan vara till nytta för andra forskare som arbetar inom samma område, vilket bidrar till kunskapsspridning och vidareutveckling av användarcentrerade designmetoder. Resultaten av studien tyder på att användarnas delaktighet har en positiv inverkan på systemutvecklingen genom att säkerställa att det resulterande programmet är i överensstämmelse med deras specifika behov och förväntningar. Därigenom bekräftar studien vikten av användarinvolvering i utvecklingen av IT-system för att säkerställa dess effektivitet och användbarhet.

This study highlights the central role of user involvement in the development process of an inventory program, focusing on user-centered design. Creating a system that meets users' needs and is user-friendly requires active participation from the final users throughout the development phase. Uddevalla Energi has contributed to this research by integrating its end-users into the development process to ensure that the resulting inventory program is as effective and user-friendly as possible. The study's methodological framework includes the use of User-Centered Design (UCD) as the design process and Action Design Research (ADR) as the design strategy, where qualitative data was collected through focus group interviews with representatives from Uddevalla Energi. Through an iteration of data collection, development, and evaluation, the study identified five central design principles from the ADR cycle, along with four themes that emerged during the pre-study and data collection. These insights and principles can be beneficial to other researchers working in the same field, contributing to the dissemination of knowledge and further development of user-centered design methods. The results of the study suggest that user involvement has a positive impact on system development by ensuring that the resulting program aligns with their specific needs and expectations. Thus, the study confirms the importance of user involvement in the development of IT systems to ensure their effectiveness and usability.
