Abstract [sv]
Bakgrund:
Flera livsstilssjukdomar går att förhindra genom livsstilsförändringar. Prediabetes innebär förhöjt plasmaglukos där livsstilsförändringar är nödvändiga för att förhindra utveckling av diabetes typ 2. Livsstilsförändringar är svåra att genomföra och svåra att upprätthålla. Distriktssköterskan har en viktig roll, att i mötet med patienten arbeta för att främja en god hälsa och stödja livsstilsförändringar genom rådgivande samtal.
Syfte:
Syftet med litteraturstudien var att beskriva vuxna personers erfarenheter av livsstilsförändringar i samband med prediabetes.
Metod:
Metoden som användes var en systematisk kvalitativ litteraturstudie som utgick från Noblit och Hares sjustegsmodell för meta-etnografisk design. Totalt inkluderades 11 studier till resultatet
Resultat:
Resultatet visade att patienters erfarenheter av livsstilsförändringar i samband med prediabetes var bristande kunskap om diagnosen samt att livsstilsförändringar var svåra att genomföra. Resultatet delades upp i två teman Att sakna kunskap om prediabetes och Att genomföra bestående förändringar. Temat Att sakna kunskap om prediabetes innehåller subteman, behovet av kunskap och rädslor och möjligheter. Temat Att genomföra bestående förändringar handlar om det egna ansvaret, närståendes betydelse samt samhällets påverkan.
Slutsats:
Patienter med prediabetes har många och olika erfarenheter av att genomföra livsstilsförändringar. Det finns ett stort behov av kunskap och stöttning från närstående och vårdpersonal. Genom förståelse för de utmaningar livsstilsförändringar innebär kandistriktssköterskan stötta och hjälpa patienter med prediabetes att känna delaktighet och tilltro till den egna förmågan.

Background:
Several lifestyle diseases can be prevented through lifestyle changes. Prediabetes involves elevated plasmaglucose where lifestyle changes are necessary to prevent development of type 2 diabetes. Lifestyle changes are difficult to implement and difficult to maintain. The district nurse has an important role in the meeting with patients to promote good health and support lifestyle changes through counselling conversations.
Aim:
The purpose of this literature study was to describe adults’ experiences of life-style changes in relation to prediabetes.
Method:
The used method was a systematic qualitative literature study with Noblit and Hare’s seven step model for meta-ethnographic design. A total of 11 studies was included in result.
Results:
The result showed that patient experiences of lifestyle changes in relation to prediabetes was a lack of knowledge for prediabetes and that lifestyle changes were difficult to do. The result has two themes To lack knowledge about prediabetes and To undergo lasting changes. The theme To lack knowledge about prediabetes includes subthemes that describe need of knowledge and fears and opportunities. To undergo lasting changes describes the own responsibility, the importance of loved ones and the influence of the society.
Conclusion:
Patients with prediabetes have many and different experiences of implementing lifestyle changes. There is a great need for knowledge and support from relatives and healthcare professionals. Through an understanding of the challenges lifestyle changes can entail, the district nurse can support and help patients with prediabetes to feel participation and confidence in their own ability.
