Abstract [sv]

Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur ledaren upplever sitt ledarskap i en hybrid arbetsmiljö. Vi studerar vilka egenskaper som kännetecknar ledaren i en arbetsmiljö präglad av ökad digitalisering och minskade fysiska kontakter. Studien syftar till att öka förståelsen för den hybrida ledaren och undersöka de utmaningar och möjligheter som en hybrid arbetsplats innebär. En kvalitativ metod har använts med semistrukturerade intervjuer med totalt nio ledare som ansvarar och leder professionella team. Studiens teoretiska ramverk omfattar ledarskap på distans, ledaregenskaper, strategier och relationsbyggande.

Resultatet visar vikten av frekvent kommunikation och tydliga ramverk för att skapa sammanhållning och inkludering när informella möten minskar. Studien indikerar att kravbilden på ledaren har förändrats och att både organisationer och ledare bör vara medvetna om de utmaningar som en hybrid arbetsplats innebär. Det krävs en ökad förståelse för att se och förstå individen för att effektivt kunna leda professionella team i en hybrid arbetsmiljö.

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study is to investigate how managers perceive their leadership in a hybrid work environment. We examine the characteristics that define a manager in a work environment characterized by increased digitalization and reduced physical interactions. The study aims to enhance understanding of the hybrid manager and explore the challenges and opportunities that a hybrid workplace entails. A qualitative method was used with semi-structured interviews conducted with a total of nine managers responsible for leading professional teams. The study's theoretical framework includes remote leadership, leadership qualities, strategies and relationship building.

The results highlight the importance of frequent communication and clear frameworks to create cohesion and inclusion when informal meetings decrease. The study indicates that the demands on managers have changed and that both organizations and managers need to be aware of the challenges a hybrid workplace presents. There is a need for a deeper understanding of individual needs to effectively lead professional teams in a hybrid work environment.
