Abstract [sv]

Projektet utforskar säkerhetsaspekterna av hemmanätverk för attidentifiera eventuella säkerhetsrisker, presentera skyddsåtgärder med ambitioner av att skydda privatpersoner emot eventuella cyberhot. Med en alltmer digital värld där tekniska utvecklingen ständigt ökar finns det illasinnade aktörer som vill komma åt värdefull information som kan skada dig som individ. Arbetet betonar behovet av mer medvetenhet, skyddsverktyg och en del olika sätt att säkra ditt hemmanätverk. Genom en rad olika laborationer av två olika routrar ser man resultatet utav tre olika attacker. Detta för att öka förståelsen för säkerhetsrisker och tillhandahålla en praktisk riktlinje. För att kunna ta till sigutav informationen och öka säkerheten på sitt nätverk.

Abstract [en]

The everyday user does not have the right amount of knowledge to know what’s going on behind the scenes in their home network. By always and every time be connected to internet through your home Wi-Fi or modem you are exposing yourself to illegitimate actors that roams the internet. This thesis provides and raises the broad problem with unsecure home networks, without updated router firmware, weak passwords or other vulnerabilities that exists amongst our devices, wehighly increase our risk of getting exposed towards actors that want to destroy, steal or blackmail to get their rewards.We document the software existing for use of securing yourselves at home, as well as providing a throughout information of the actions and steps needed to be taken for extended security.
