Bakgrund:

Utsatthet för brott medförde konsekvenser för brottsoffret som kunde visa sig både psykiskt och fysiskt. För att hantera dessa konsekvenser kunde brottsoffren finna stöd hos personal inom olika verksamheter. Personalen inom verksamheterna ansvarade för att bemöta brottsoffren på ett korrekt sätt och vara medvetna om deras arbetsuppgifter. Trots denna medvetenhet upplevde personalen att det fanns utmaningar som också kunde påverka hur arbetet lades upp.

Syfte:

Syftet var att belysa de utmaningar som personal möter i arbetet med brottsoffer.

Metod:

Metoden som användes i detta examensarbete var en litteraturöversikt. Genom systematiska sökningar kunde nio artiklar inkluderas i arbetet då de svarade på syftet. Varje artikel genomgick kvalitetsgranskning och därefter analyserades artiklarna.

Resultat:

Resultatet visade att personalen som arbetade med brottsoffer mötte utmaningar både under och efter arbetstid. Utmaningarna kunde vara strukturella, kulturella och sociala. De kunde även påverka den psykiska hälsan samt personalens privatliv. Dessa utmaningar presenterades i tre teman och sex subteman.

Konklusion:

Personalen lyfte att de mötte utmaningar i arbetet med brottsoffren. Dessa utmaningar visade sig ha en påverkan på personalens psykiska hälsa. Utmaningarna som personalen mötte kunde påverka dem så pass mycket att utförandet av arbetsuppgifterna också drabbades.

Background:

Being a crime victim brought physical and psychological consequences. To be able to handle these consequences crime victims could find support from staff working at different organizations. Staff working at different organizations had a responsibility to meet the crime victims in a correct way and be aware of their duties. Despite this awareness, employees felt that there was challenges that could affect how their work could be affected by the structure.

Aim:

The aim of this study was to highlight the challenges that staff encounters when working with crime victims.Method: The method used in this study was a literature overview. Through systematic searches nine articles could be included that answered the aim. Every article was quality reviewed. After that the articles were analyzed and resulted in three themes and six subthemes.

Results:

The result showed that staff working with crime victims experienced challenges during and after working hours. The challenges could be structural, cultural and social. They could also have an impact on the staff's mental health and their personal life. These challenges were presented in three themes and six subthemes.

Conclusion:

Staff highlighted experiences of challenges in their work with crime victims. The challenges showed an impact on the staff´s mental health. The challenges the staff experienced could impact on their performance of the work.
