Background: Covid-19 is a severe acute respiratory syndrome virus that often give symptoms like loss of taste and smell, cough, sore throat and in worst cases severe dyspnea that requires respiratory assistance. Covid-19 is a global pandemic that has changed the nursing profession, in both health procedures and working environments. Nurses have sacrificed many daily routines and guidelines, at work and at home. To ensure the safety of patients and others, including themselves, without hesitation. By gaining an increased understanding to nurses experiences from Covid-19, we can learn more about the pandemics impact and improve the nursing profession further.

Aim: This study aims to describe nurses experiences of the Covid-19 pandemic in a hospital environment.

Method: A literature review based on the contents from ten scientific articles.

Results: The findings revealed three main themes: Nurses working with unhealthy illness, A changed work environment and A strengthen profession. The results showed that nurses had experienced many different feelings and emotions from the impact of Covid-19. The work environment where also difficult and rough to manage. After all, nurses have grown during the pandemic and have evolved to an improved profession. 

Conclusion: The conclusion of the results showed that working towards better health among nurses, contributes to a good working environment and a more secure patient safety area. This through social support and education. An evolved nursing profession assists to a deeper understanding and management towards future pandemics.
