    Abstract [en]

    Background: In line with the rise of globalization, the number of transnational families is increasing. This means that more and more children and young adults navigate between different social and cultural contexts where they encounter linguistic, cultural and social differences that affect their identity development, belonging and well-being. By being aware of and understanding these consequences, we can create the conditions to provide the right support and help to children in transnational families.

    Purpose: This study examines how children and young adults in transnational families construct their identity based on multiple cultural backgrounds and what opportunities and challenges they face in their everyday lives.

    Method: This study is a systematic qualitative literature study with social constructionism as a theoretical approach and includes 14 scientific articles.

    Results: Research shows that children and young adults in transnational families actively shape their identity by navigating between different social and cultural contexts. This process opens up opportunities for increased understanding, creativity and intercultural competence through exposure to different cultures and languages. At the same time, they face challenges that may include the loss of social networks and the experience of discrimination. Identity formation is influenced by factors such as family background, cultural origin, geographic location, social network and language skills, as well as individual experiences.

    Abstract [en]

    Sweden is one of Europe's fastest growing multiethnic countries because of high immigration rate (Runblom, 1994; Tawat, 2019). Many Africans over the last few decades have moved to Sweden for a better life. In a bid to live and feel like regular inhabitants within the new society, these immigrants face challenges, including various types of discriminations (Pettigrew and Meertens, 1995; Reskin, 2012; Wamala, Boström and Nyqvist, 2007). The main aim of the thesis is to study how Cameroonians immigrants in Gothenburg experience racism, and to what extent the racist actions and prejudices they experience are related to visual difference. Cameroonians that I have interviewed are "black," and as my study shows, it is in part due to this shared visual attribute that they say that they have experienced racism. Previous researches have explored racism and Afrophobia in Sweden but have not identified different forms of racisms according to Mile's and Blank's (2003) categorizations in regard to black immigrants in Sweden (Rex, 1983; Hübinette and Tigervall, 2009; Hansson, Näslund and Rasmussen, 2010). Using Miles' concept of racialization (Miles and Brown, 2003) and theories for measuring racial discrimination by Blank (2004), I identify different forms of racial discrimination as experienced by this group.

    Bakgrund: Klimatförändringar är en verklighet som påverkar hela vår planet. Temperaturen höjs, havsnivåer stiger, skogar brinner ned och djurarter slås ut (WWF, 2019). Frågor som berör miljö och klimat är en av vår tids mest centrala frågor och hos allmänheten har engagemanget ökat och rapporteringen om klimatförändringar har ökat de senaste fem åren i svensk tidningspress (Vi-skogen, 2019).

    Syfte: Syftet i denna studie är att granska hur klimatrapporteringen i svensk tidningspress gestaltades under sommaren 2019 utifrån gestaltningsteorin. Då klimatförändringar är ett växande fenomen i medier är det viktigt att granska vad de förmedlar till läsarna. I föreliggande studie har nyhetsartiklar, som publicerats i Aftonbladet och Dagens Nyheter, analyserats för att få en djupare vetskap i hur svensk tidningspress framställer fenomenet klimatförändringar.

    Metod: Studien utgår från en kvalitativ textanalys. Fokus är att analysera och synliggöra fyra stycken gestaltningsramar i tidningarna Aftonbladet och Dagens Nyheter.

    Resultat: Analysen visar att artiklarna som har analyserats framställer en eller flera av gestaltningsramarna när tidningarna rapporterar om klimatförändring. Det går att urskilja att klimatförändringar främst framställs utifrån ett mänskligt intresse, där privata aktörers inställning till klimatförändringar skildras, och sällan som ett ekonomiskt fenomen. Tidningarna gestaltar även klimatförändringar utifrån ett ansvarsperspektiv och det kan också vara ett konfliktskapande fenomen där två eller flera parter är oeniga.

    Bakgrund: Under våren 2020 ställde Sveriges skolor om från när undervisning till fjärr- och distansundervisning på grund av den rådande covid-19-pandemin. Arbetssituationen för Sveriges lärarkår har förändrats och undervisning på distans är numera ett faktum. Detta har skapat nya möjligheter i undervisningen, men även ny problematik. I skrivande stund finns det ett fåtal studier som publicerats som också undersökt omställningens påverkan, exempelvis hur rektorer och elever upplevt omställningen, och vår avsikt är att föreliggande studie också ska bidra till en ökad förståelse av fenomenet. Syfte: Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur gymnasielärare i svenskämnet har upplevt omställningen till fjärr- och distansundervisning under covid-19-pandemin och hur de upplever att de har lyckats säkerställa ett allsidigt och rättvist bedömningsunderlag gentemot eleverna.Studien ämnar även att belysa hur undervisningen har fungerat utifrån de nya restriktionernaoch vilka stödstrukturer som utformats för att hantera situationen. Metod: Studien utgår från ett kvalitativt perspektiv, där vi genom samtalsintervjuer av lärare ämnat ta reda på deras upplevelser av omställningen från när undervisning till fjärr- och distansundervisning. Samtalsintervjuer kan således bidra till en mer djupgående beskrivning av fenomenet, eftersom kvalitativa undersökningar utgår från subjektets upplevelse och tolkning av verkligheten. Resultat: Analysen av samtalsintervjuerna visar att det finns både positiva och negativa förändringar i undervisningen som omställningen bidragit med. Exempelvis har vi numera en lärarkår som är mer digitalt kunniga och underlaget för bedömningar verkar till stor del vara av textuellt slag. Muntliga moment har en tendens att få minskat utrymme eller skjutas framåt ihopp om mer när undervisning i framtiden. Att fåtal elever väljer att ha kameran påslagen upplevs påverka samspelet mellan lärare och elever, vilket bidragit till en förändrad dynamik i det virtuella klassrummet.

    Abstract [en]

    The study's purpose was to examine which leadership style that is the most optimal according to the employees, and examine if any of the existing line managers in the investigated company possesses the characteristics that the most optimal leadership style is based on. The study is important, in particular for the investigated company, but also for other companies and their executives for the reason that the results from the study could help and pay attention to employees needs and to listen to what they want out of their line managers. This can counteract conflicts and reduce the number of employees that are unhappy with their line managers.

    Our empirical data is based on a qualitative study where we have held interviews with the three line managers and five employees in order to get opinion and thoughts about the line managers and their leadership styles. We have also done an observation of the line managers before the interviews to pick up important information and create a reasonably image of the situation for when the respondents answered our questions.

    The study has resulted in one line managers having the characteristics of a transactional leadership style while the other two had the characteristics of a transformational leadership style which also was the most optimal leadership style according to the employees.

    Bakgrund

    Trots att dagens läroplan ger möjligheten att individualisera undervisningen, uppstår ändå skillnader mellan lärares och elevers syn på vad ämnet svenska innebär. Ett nyttoperspektiv ger större möjligheter att finna vilka skillnaderna är. Vid inhämtande av kunskap är motivationen en viktig faktor, där intresset är en viktig beståndsdel. Nyttan kan här ses som en motivationsfaktor.

     Syftet

     Att få en djupare förståelse och jämföra lärares och elevers uppfattning kring nyttan med ämnet svenska, vad de anser är viktigt och oviktigt, eller vad man lägger tyngdpunkten på i förhållande till läro- och kursplanen.

     

    Metod

     

    Undersökningsmetoden har varit kvalitativ med ett bekvämlighetsurval som grund. För att kunna få svar på frågeställningarna har fyra behöriga gymnasielärare och fyra gymnasieelever intervjuats. Metoden är vald för att ge en djupare förståelse av lärarnas och elevernas uppfattningar kring ämnet.

    Resultat

    Resultatet visar att uppfattningarna kring läroämnet svenska är individuella, både bland lärare och elever. Vissa skillnader mellan elevers och lärares syn kan urskiljas. Lärarna har en allmänt sett mer bred och djup definition av kunskap, eleverna har en mer ytlig, färdighetspräglad kunskapssyn. Lärarna lägger tyngd på färdighets- och bildningskunskaper, där läsandet och skrivandet är en viktig beståndsdel, medan eleverna efterfrågar en större betoning på muntliga kommunikationsfärdigheter som har anknytning till deras individuella intressen.

    Abstract [en]

    The aims of the present study were to map the level and distribution of aggressive and antisocial behaviors in a sample of Moroccan high school students and to define the level of these behaviors in adolescents who reported parental alcohol use problems and/or experienced abuse. In total, 375 high school students completed the "Mental and Somatic Health without borders (MeSHe)" survey that includes the Life History of Aggression scale. Male students had significantly higher scores for aggression and antisocial behaviors than female. The students who reported experience of abuse or parental alcohol use problems scored significantly higher for aggression, self-directed aggression, and antisocial behaviors compared to students not reporting these negative psychosocial factors. Previously shown gender-specific patterns in aggressive and antisocial behaviors, but not in self-harm behaviors were confirmed in these Moroccan high school students. Reported experience of abuse and/or parental alcohol use problems were associated with increased frequency of aggressive and antisocial behaviors.

    Abstract [en]

    Background: Studies on mental health are scarce from Arab countries, especially studies focusing on adolescents. In addition to the neurobiological and physiological changes that occur during adolescent development, psychological, societal and cultural influences have strong effects on adolescents’ behavior and on their somatic and mental health. The present study aimed (1) to describe the mental health profile, operationalized as psychological distress, of a sample of Moroccan adolescents, and (2) to investigate how specific psychosocial factors (parental alcohol use problems and the experience of physical and/or psychological abuse) may affect adolescents’ mental health. Methods: The sample included 375 adolescents from conveniently selected classes of four high schools in the city of Tetouan in Morocco. The participants responded to an anonymous survey containing, beside other inventories, the Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI) and identified those reporting parental alcohol use problems and/or the previous experience of abuse. The sample characteristics were defined using descriptive statistics. The effects of the defined psychosocial factors were identified using the Kruskal-Wallis test, followed by the post hoc Fisher’s least significant difference test. Results: The most common problems found in high school students from an urban region of Morocco were memory problems, concentration difficulties, restlessness, fear, nervosity and feelings of inadequacy during interpersonal interactions. The female students reported significantly higher psychological distress levels when compared to the male students (p < 0.001). The adolescents reporting parental alcohol use problems and the experience of physical/psychological abuse showed significantly higher levels of psychological distress (p = 0.02), especially symptoms of somatization (p < 0.001), hostility (p = 0.005) and anxiety (p = 0.01), than those not reporting any of these psychosocial factors. Conclusion: The mental health profile of female adolescents from an urban area of Morocco is worse than that of their male fellow students. Adolescents reporting parental alcohol use problems and/or the experience of physical/psychological abuse need synchronized support from social- A nd healthcare services. © 2019 The Author(s).

    Background: Adolescence is a distinct developmental phase characterized by multiple physical and psychological changes andby an increased vulnerability to somatic and mental health problems. These risk and vulnerability factors are part of a complexbiopsychosocial matrix, encompassing multiple factors, such as inherited biological determinants and psychological, societal,and cultural influences, which affect an adolescent's overall wellbeing. In Morocco, similar to other developing countries,adolescents (young people aged from 15 to 19years) constitute a substantial proportion of the population (almost 9%).However, studies about adolescents' health in developing countries are scarce. In this study, we describe adolescents' somatichealth in a sample of high school students from the city of Tetouan, Morocco, and investigate how negative psychosocialfactors, such as parental alcohol use problems and/or the experience of abuse, may influence them.Methods: The study sample included 655 adolescents (315 boys and 340 girls, M=16.64years, range=15–18years) fromconviniently selected classes of four high schools in the city of Tetouan in Morocco. The students responded to a survey thatassessed the prevalence of somatic complaints/disorders. They also indicated whether they had ever experienced physicaland/or psychological abuse and whether they had parents with alcohol use problems.Results: More than half of the adolescents suffered from headaches and one-third had substantial problems with diarrhea orconstipation. Both problems were more common in female students. The third most frequent somatic problem, affecting onein four in both genders, was allergy. Almost one-third of Moroccan adolescents (significantly more boys than girls; p=0.004)reported no somatic complaints. In adolescents who reported parental alcohol use problems and/or experience of physicaland/or psychological abuse, the prevalence of several somatic complaints (epilepsy, migraine, headache, diarrhea/constipation,gluten intolerance, allergy, and skin or thyroid disease) increased highly significantly compared to the adolescents whoreported no such psychosocial environmental factors.Conclusion: The results suggest that only 3 in 10 urban-living Moroccan adolescents are free of somatic complaints, whilethe majority suffer from some somatic problems, most often headaches and diarrhea/constipation. The association of certainnegative psychosocial factors with adolescents' somatic health suggests the need of a holistic approach to the treatment of affectedadolescents.

    Abstract [en]

    In the beginning of 2020, the world was struck by a new disease called the Coronavirus (COVID-19), which later on was declared a pandemic. As the pandemic caused more and more infections and casualties as an effect currency, stock markets, and various other assets depreciated. Previous research has made it clear that cases and deaths related to the disease have a significant impact on both returns and volatility of FX rates. Although, there is a lack of research that just takes pandemic-related data into account, with research focusing on monetary variables such as interest rates and inflation. The purpose of this paper is to investigate whether cases and deaths in Sweden related to the disease can be used as a forecasting tool for the return and volatility of FX rates. Furthermore, the FX rates have all had the Swedish krona (SEK) in relation to other currencies as the focal point since there is a lack of research regarding the SEK. The study investigates 545 daily observations of nine bilateral nominal FX rates plus cases and deaths in Sweden related to COVID-19, with the time period ranging from March 2, 2020, to March 31, 2022. The study adopts a GARCH (1,1) and GARCH (5,5) model where, in the first model, cases and deaths are lagged one period to see the one-day ahead forecasting accuracy. The model is then repeated but cases and deaths are lagged five periods to see the five-day ahead forecasting accuracy. The results from the empirical work find that, when deaths are lagged in five periods, the forecasting ability is superior to that of cases and deaths when only lagged one period. For deaths lagged five periods, there is a significant forecasting ability for the variance of SEK/BRL, SEK/GBP, and SEK/JPY. There is also a significant forecasting ability for the return of SEK/BRL when deaths are lagged for five periods. For cases that lagged one period, there is only a significant forecasting ability for the variance of SEK/USD.

    Abstract [en]

    In line with digitalization and dissatisfaction with the financial system in 2008, new types of currencies have been introduced, cryptocurrencies. The most widely recognized, Bitcoin (BTC). According to previous research, Bitcoin is not defined as it was intended to function as, a currency. Instead, Bitcoin has been considered a speculative investment due to extreme volatility and is defined as an asset rather than a currency. The purpose of this paper is to find out if Bitcoin can be used as a diversifier against the US stock index Standard & Poor's (S&P500). This study examines the time frame January 1, 2018, to March 31, 2021, investigating optimal weights of the respective assets in the portfolio. A simulation of the weights of each asset against each other is made by applying the mean variance optimization model combined with a trial and error process with the risk adjusted return excluded. By applying the model it gave optimal weights for Bitcoin and S&P500. To minimize standard deviation of the portfolio and overperforming S&P500 a weight distribution should consist of 8,48% Bitcoin and S&P500 91,52% Bitcoin. The weighting of a portfolio that maximizes Sharpe Quota and the risk-adjusted return apart from the risk-free interest rate should consist of 31,50% Bitcoin and 68,50% S&P500. The results of the study show that Bitcoin can be used as a diversifier against the S&P500.

    Uppsatsen syftar till att undersöka om barn och ungdomslitteraturen tillägnat sig filosofiska tankegångar och hur detta har utryckts i fyra skönlitterära verk. Barnlitteraturen används i skolan framförallt för att öka läsförståelse och ordkunskap. I denna studie har jag pekat på att litteraturen även kan föra fram filosofiska idéer. Uppsatsen kan fungera som en vägvisare till hur filosofiska idéer kan hämtas från skönlitteraturen och på så sätt exemplifiera dessa med hjälp av litteraturen, men också hur vi på samma sätt kan göra litteraturen mer begriplig med hjälp av filosofiska exempel. Uppsatsen har visat att barnlitteraturen innehåller djupa och intressanta filosofiska tankegångar. Både äldre och nyare barnlitteratur kan därför med fördel användas i skolan för att introducera filosofiska begrepp på ett stimulerande sätt.

    Abstract: Forskaren Andreas Nyströms litteraturvetenskapliga doktorsavhandling Places of Rest in Worlds of Ruin - Havens in Post-Apocalyptic Fiction (2021)undersöker fridfulla platser i post-apokalyptiska berättelser efter civilisationens undergång och fall. Nyström (2021) beskriver de troper som belyser dessa platser, som fridfulla oaser, eller paradisiska miljöer där karaktärerna kan vila och återhämta sig. Med hjälp av den dystopiska ungdomslitterära berättelsen Hungerspelen (Collins, 2008, originaltitel: The Hunger Games) undersöker studien de troper som belyser dessa fridfulla oaser i det litterära verket. Analysen av den fridfulla platsen i Hungerspelen (2008) är studiens huvudfokus och skogen som huvudkaraktären Katniss Everdeen vistas i representerar berättelsens fridfulla oas. Uppsatsen besvarar även frågan om hur den fridfulla platsen har fungerat metaforiskt och filosofiskt i verket. Analyser av Hungerspelen (2008) och liknande ungdomsromaner kan vara fruktbara i litteraturundervisningen, då karaktärerna och många av de teman som ett ungdomslitterärt verk som detta lyfter fram är bekanta och relevanta för gymnasieelever och öppnar därmed upp för diskussioner kring fler tematiska möjligheter som verket kan tänkas innehåll.

    Abstract [en]

    Background. Life satisfaction and trait forgiveness have shown importance to the individual mental health in the field of positive psychology. Research concerning the correlation between life satisfaction and trait forgiveness have never been researched in a nationwide study on a Swedish population. 

    Material and method. The national representative SOM-enquiry from 2019 was used to study the relationship between life satisfaction and trait forgiveness. In total 3,500 individuals between the ages of 16 and 85 was selected (simple random sampling). A total of 1,514 respondents reported on every question (including the control variables). Multiple regression analysis with 5000 bootstrap iterations was used to study the correlation and control for the background variables. 

    Results. A weak positive correlation was detected between life satisfaction and trait forgiveness even after the result was controlled for gender, age, ethnic upbringing, education, and income.

    Conclusion. Trait forgiveness is potentially a health promotion that together with life satisfaction should be considered to promote the individual mental health.

    Föreliggande studie avser att öka förståelsen för hur boendepersonal ser på och arbetar medbrukarinflytande för personer med psykiska funktionsnedsättningar. För att kunna göra detta formulerades tre forskningsfrågor, vilka avser att undersöka boendepersonals syn på syftet med brukarinflytande, deras upplevelse av hur de kan främja respektive hindra förutsättningar för brukarinflytande samt vilken påverkan brukarinflytande kan ha på deras arbete. För att kunna besvara studiens frågeställningar har fem kvalitativa intervjuer genomförts med personal på boenden för personer med psykiska funktionsnedsättningar. Studien har vidare analyserats utifrån följande teoretiska utgångspunkter; det relationella maktperspektivet, Franzéns makttriangel, den professionella makten och brukarrollen, handlingsutrymme samt paternalism och empowerment. Resultatet visar att brukarinflytande har en föränderlig karaktär och varierar i utformning och styrka beroende på kontext och brukarens personliga förutsättningar. Det framkommer flera argument för brukarinflytande. Vissa syftar till att öka brukarnas empowerment och främja deras återhämtning, dessa kan i hög grad kopplas till olika kategorier av brukare. Andra syften gynnar verksamheten och boendepersonal. Resultatet visar vidare att inte heller arbetet med brukarinflytande är helt okomplicerat. I detta arbete återfinns flera hindrande faktorer och aktörer på olika nivåer. Hindren påverkar vidare hur boendepersonal kan använda sin professionella makt och sitt handlingsutrymme i arbetet med brukarinflytande. Det finns också argument för att boendepersonal ibland begränsar eller hindrar brukarinflytande, exempelvis att det sker med hänsyn till brukarens bästa. Resultatet visar att det finns personal med paternalistiska förhållnings- och arbetssätt, vilka utgör hinder för brukarinflytande. Genom kommunikation kan boendepersonal dock skapa förutsättningar för brukarinflytande i personalgruppen, på så sätt kan den stigmatiserande diskursen om personer med psykiska funktionsnedsättningar ifrågasättas. Vidare visar resultatet att boendepersonal även kan främja brukarinflytande genom att öka brukarnas empowerment samt genom att inta ett empowermentinriktat förhållningssätt. Detta balanserar makten i relationen och möjliggör en mer jämlik relation, vilket uppfattas främjande. Boendepersonal kan också främja förutsättningarna för brukarinflytande genom att välja hur de ska hantera sitt handlingsutrymme, exempelvis genom att avsätta tid för brukarinflytande. Resultatet visar vidare att boendepersonals upplevelse av hur brukarinflytande påverkar deras arbete beror på inflytandets utformning. Det är dock tydligt att brukarinflytande ställer ökade krav på boendepersonal och deras arbete, vilka många gånger upplevs svåra att tillmötesgå på grund av tidigare nämnda hinder. Brukarinflytande kan också ha en positiv påverkan för boendepersonals arbete, dels då det kan underlätta arbetet och fylla en vägledande funktion och dels då det fyller en bekräftande och utvecklande funktion. Min slutsats är vidare att brukarinflytande för personer med psykiska funktionsnedsättningar varken är självklart eller enkelt. Men genom att öka förståelsen för det studerade området kan studien förhoppningsvis stimulera till reflektion och diskussion hos anställda inom socialt arbete, vilket kan främja förutsättningarna för brukarinflytande för personer med psykiska funktionsnedsättningar

    The present study aims to, through a critical age perspective, describe and illustrate the structural conditions of the age category of children based on the information about treatment for gambling problems provided by municipal websites. The study has a quantitative character and in order to answer the study's questions, a content analysis of municipal websites (N = 119) was conducted. 52,1% of those websites contained information on treatment for gambling problems (n = 62). The result showed a statistically significant difference in the distribution regarding information by municipal websites on treatment for gambling problems ( χ² = 9,478a , df = 2, p = ,009) and treatment methods ( χ² = 13,400a , df =2, p = ,001) between the structural age categories. Throughout, age as an organizing principle was updated, and the age category of children was directed to information about treatment for gambling problems through municipal websites to a considerably lower extent than other age categories. This brought to light an age hierarchy and from a children perspective it is possible to state that children's structural conditions were unequal. When this was consistent, it is reasonable to assume that there is systematic inequality, which raises social stratification.

    Integrationssatsningar riktade till nyanlända har kritiserats för att sakna likvärdighet och ha svag kunskapsbas. Krav har ställts på åtgärder för att höja kvaliteten på satsningarna. Den här artikeln handlar om det interprofessionella arbetet för att ta fram ett standardiserat, nationellt informationsmaterial för att förbättra samhällsorientering för nyanlända. I studien som genomförts följdes processen när olika yrkesgrupper tillsammans arbetade med att ta fram materialet om det svenska samhället. Analysen visar hur arbetet präglades av att de olika grupperna orienterade sig mot olika delmål: att skapa det vetenskapligt korrekt, det pedagogiskt förenklade, det politiskt neutrala eller det relevanta för de nyanlända.

    Today people migrate and leave societies that cannot secure human life and safety, where one's worth as a human is being violated. People are fleeing not only from, but also to places. When arriving to a new society it needs to be described, to make it possible to meet it and act in it. In dialogue and interaction with groups, society therefor must find and describe models for inclusion. In Sweden, as residence permits are obtained, so called ‘integration workers’ are engaged in Civic Orientation, to support the process by means of which individuals are to become knowledgeable enough to exert their agency as citizens (knowing your rights and obligations).

    The overall object is to create linkages between the state and the ‘newly arrived immigrants’. Civic orientation is a course for 60 h, regulated by Swedish law and EU has given directions that every member state is supposed to have some form of civic education, but every country is responsible for organizing and develop their own content. Often, in Sweden, the integration workers themselves have immigrated to Sweden and the course is given in the mother tongue of the immigrants.

    This study is a workplace study with interest in professional knowledge to create stable and flexible knowledge in the work, understood as how the workers construct relevance for their doings in interaction. In this study the specific interest is to understand the construction of newcomers' information needs, the problem being worked with. The need of information is understood as not given or static, but as a (re)produced in regular social practices (Edwards, 2005), and both integrationworkers and newcomers mutually orient to a set of ideas when constructing needs. The analytical interest is also to outline how some views is made more significant or more authoritative with respect to the matter at hand (Heritage and Raymond, 2005).

    In reasoning about needs, the access to countries, as epistemic domains is often used to make claims about what kind of information that is needed. In other words, the country that the immigrants comes from is often arranged to be the source of knowledge. The data material was generated through video recordings and interviews over a period of 1.5 years, from backstage (workmeetings) and frontstage work (with ‘newly arrived immigrants’). I identify two patterns that are analytically distinctive when looking at how the problem- presentation in civic orientation is negotiated. Either is it the knowledge about the Swedish society that is the matter at hand, or is it to educate those who have not yet come to a certain ´understanding´. This are two very different worktasks, but they seems to be connected in the practice.

    Integration support is a rather new professional field, and it is common for paraprofessionals (PPs) with personal migration experiences as their main qualification to perform the work without having a job description, education or ethical principles to follow. In previous research, migration experiences have been contested as a professional competence and criticism has been raised about a lack of professionalism. Organisational professionalisation directed from above – such as education, guidelines and standardisation – has been requested. This study raises questions about occupational professionalisation from within, from the working group itself. Based on workplace learning theory, the study explores how a working group of 30 PP integration workers in Civic Orientation are enhancing occupational capacities jointly. They identified a lack of client responsiveness as a problem and developed an explanatory model where their own biographical experience of migration (themselves as former migrants or their family members and recollections of their former ‘home country’) play a crucial role. Thus, the results indicate that one’s own migration experience can be a part of and a motivator for occupational professionalism of PPs if it is allowed to be collectively reflected on, critically scrutinised and contextualised.

    Societal efforts to support the integration of newly arrived immigrants have been repeatedly highlighted in the political debate in Sweden and they are described as inadequate and ineffective. Demands have been made for improvements and one of the designated efforts is Civic Orientation (CO). The Civic Orientation programme is a course about Swedish society, targeting newly arrived refugees and their relatives who have received a residence permit. It provides basic information about Swedish society to aid and expedite integration (SFS 2010:1138). The criticism has led to the production of written, national instructions containing correct information that should be provided by the civil servants in CO. The aim is that quality should be high and equal across the country. The overall aim of the dissertation is to deepen the understanding and knowledge of the work-process to develop standard guidelines, that will be used in a welfare sector, where it is difficult to establish definitive knowledge. The dissertation's purpose is also to deepen the understanding and knowledge of instruction work as a collaborative activity. The term 'instruction work' covers both work that experts and managers undertake when they develop written guidelines, and work done when implementing these guidelines in local practice. The thesis is rooted in activity theory where work is viewed as a collaborative activity aimed at taking on a task, event or object, such as interpreting, paying attention, participating, thinking, and performing. The study involves five different categories of actors: a representative from the county administrative board, experts from various authorities and universities, coordinators and the head of a unit from a management group in a municipality, and integration workers, who are the local civil servants. The study is based on a field study where video recorded observations of meetings, lectures and workshops have been conducted. Semi structured interviews and written communication have also been used. The result shows that there are different perceptions of what work needs to be done to ensure that the instructions are correct. A variety of, sometimes contradictory, tasks developed: to make the information scientifically correct with multiple perspectives on social phenomena, to make educational simplification, to provide an ideal image of Sweden according to policy, or to describe Swedish society as irrational with hinders and obstacles (papers 1- 3). Another major task was to make the instructions politically neutral which meant producing information that was not offensive for external readers such as politicians and the general public (paper 1). When guideline models have been used for other welfare activities, the work is usually based on analysis of the needs of the target groups. That task took on an obscured role and was first noticed as important by the civil servants in the latter part when the material was used during implementation (papers 1, 3). A further result concerns the work of developing standard guidelines. The study shows that there is formal instruction work (paper 1) which is the planned work, most often done by experts and/or researchers, and informal instruction work (paper 2) often hidden and performed by civil servants in the implementation phase. This informal work is about transforming the instructions to be useful for the individual in the local situation. But the study also shows a third type of work - semi-formal instruction work (paper 3) that is also carried out by the local civil servants, where they, with their biographical and informal instruction work experience, try hard to influence formal instruction work. One conclusion is that it is more fruitful and accurate to perceive standardized instructions as dynamic and integrated in the practical work, than to see them as fixed by an externally controlled process. Developing standards to be used to improve practice is an ongoing fluid process that never ends, and that involves tensions and conflicts that need to be addressed.

    Performance measurement in Swedish municipalities is a common occurrence. This essay is about how performance measurement is used in a Swedish context and how organizations can begin using performance measurement directly. To explain performance measurement use we chose four categories of use: Performance measurement use for evaluation, control, motivation, and learning. There are examples of the use of performance measurement from qualitative case studies seven Swedish municipalities in our essay. The study's findings are that there is a connection between using performance measurement for learning and motivation and found a lack of use of performance measurement for controlling purposes. Furthermore, we found that employees and analysis played an important part in the process of beginning to use performance measurement.

    Jag har i denna rapport studerat om det finns några skillnader mellan olika ledare beroende på deras ålder. Jag delade in respondenterna i tre olika ålderskategorier (unga, mellangamla, och gamla) och har sedan jämfört dessa kategorier med varandra. Som utgångspunkt beskrev jag hur vetenskaplig litteratur redogör för olika ledaregenskaper och olika ledarstilar. Som inledning förklarade jag skillnaden mellan chefskap och ledarskap, detta eftersom dessa begrepp lätt kan förväxlas. Chefskap innebär att man har fokus på att lösa uppgiften, och med ledarskap så har man även fokus på att utveckla medarbetarna, samt att dessa skall må bra och trivas på jobbet. I den valda litteratur redogjordes det för olika definitioner om vad ledarskap egentligen är, jag fann dock en tydlig röd tråd i de olika definitionerna och det var att ledarskap är en kombination av hur man löser uppgiften och vilken relation man som ledare har till sina anställda. Min utgångspunkt var att olika ledarstilar innebär hur kombinationen uppgiftsfokusering och relationen till anställda hanteras. Utifrån detta definierade jag fem olika huvudstilar som hanterar kombinationen uppgift/relation på olika sätt. När jag jämförde de olika ledarstilarna kom jag fram till att unga ledarna har mindre fokus på uppgiften jämfört med gamla ledarna, hos de mellangamla ledarna fanns det inget tydligt mönster. De unga ledarna hade någorlunda liknande ledarstil, en ledarstil med spår av en osäkerhet på vad man skall lägga fokus på. De mellangamla ledarna skiljde sig åt väldigt mycket, men hade till skillnad från de unga ledarna fokus på något område. De gamla ledarna liknade varandra och hade en fokusering som låg mest på uppgiften. När jag studerade olika ledaregenskaper var det tydligt att de unga ledarna jämfört med de gamla ledarna litade mer på sina anställda och lät dem agera mer fritt. Detta samtidigt som de utgick ifrån att medarbetarna skulle säga ifrån om de fick problem. Detta ligger i linje med att unga ledare har mindre fokus på uppgiften. Ytterligare skillnader var att unga ledare agerar mer kortsiktigt. De kommer också att lyssna mer på sina anställda innan de fattar beslut.

    Studiens syfte är att undersöka hur det är att leva med den neuropsykiatriska diagnosen ADHD och hur personer hanterar olika situationer i livet. Studien intresserar sig även för hur personernas identitet har skapats i samspel med andra. Vanliga svårigheter för personer med ADHD är upplevelser av koncentrationssvårigheter och hyperaktivitet. Vissa svårigheter kan bli mindre märkbara när personen når vuxen ålder. Datainsamlingsmetoden i studien är öppna intervjuer och därför har intervjuguiden enbart används som ett stöd vid varje intervjutillfälle. Tre informanter intervjuades vid två tillfällen för att skapa ett djupgående material. I analysen fick informanterna fiktiva namn, "Simon", "Lisa" och "Ulrika". Den teoretiska utgångspunkten i studien är den socialkonstruktivistiska teorin som menar att människans verklighet skapas i interaktion med varandra och att verkligheten är socialt konturerad. Theodore R. Sarbin är en socialkonstruktivistisk forskare och hans teori om det narrativa i det sociala är även ett teoretiskt perspektiv i studien. Resultatet visar att informanterna har olika egenskaper som skapats i samspel med deras diagnoser. Dessa egenskaper har påverkat deras livshistoria. Resultatet utifrån den teoretiska analysen påvisade att informanterna har påverkats av sina erfarenheter under livshistorien och att dessa erfarenheter påverkar informanterna även idag. Det framkom dessutom att personerna har skapat sin identitet i samspel med andra personer. I diskussionen lyfts argument för att yrkesverksamma i socialt arbete kan gynnas av en ökad förståelse av hur det är att leva med ADHD och att varje person har en berättelse och unika erfarenheter.

    During the last few decades the academic re-gendering has reached the field of rhetorical discourse and differences of speech and rhetoric has been determined. Another gender shift has occurred during the last few decades in the appointments of foreign policy representatives, from being one of the last patriarchal strongholds the change towards equality has been remarkably swift. However, the norms of masculinity and formality within the sphere of foreign policy are still persistent. The first aim of this thesis was to determine if the rhetorical style of men and women differed even in a context heavily laden with norms, such as the UNGA. The secondary aim is based upon the concept of masculinity and femininity in culture, to determine if the gender of culture influenced the speaker’s rhetorical style, even in the UNGA. This thesis generates its own theoretical framework from the works of rhetoric and linguistics to separate masculine and feminine rhetorical style. The method used is a qualitative textual analyze applied to transcribed speeches held by Swedish and U.S. representatives in UNGA. The analysis proved that there is a difference in rhetorical style between genders and culture, even in a context such as the UNGA, but only a small one.

    Med denna studie har jag för avsikt att föra fram självskadebeteende från en annan vinkel. Syftet med studien var att diskutera faktorerna bakom ett självskadebeteende. Min studie är riktad mot personer som vill eller redan hjälper ungdomar med självskadebeteende, professionella, familj eller vänner. I studien diskuterar jag vad samhället idag klassar som självskadebeteende, hur mycket av beteendet som är ångestrelaterat, faktorer bakom beteendet samt hur mycket av beteendet som är kopplat till känslan av förlorad kontroll.

    Jag har intervjuat nio personer som arbetar med ungomar varje dag. Jag använde mig utav kvalitativ forskningsmetod. Resultaten av denna studie visar på att den största delen av ett självskadebeende är ett tecken på känslan av förlorad kontroll, ungdomen tar tillbaka kontrollen genom att självskada. Beteendet är ett tecken på ångest, vilket reduceras genom att självskada. Självskadebeteendet kan även orsakas av ohälsosamma relationer med vänner, familj eller andra relationer. Och resultaten visar på att samhället inte riktigt förstår beteendet och har en negativ bild av det, samhället har fortfarande uppfattningen av att självskadebeteende utgörs av en grupp vita små flickor som skär sig i handlederna.

    The purpose of this study is to increase the understanding of how the treatment staffexperience and handles the work with girls who self-injure . In order to answer thesequestions we interviewed six people working at two different institutions where theyworked with girls who self-injure.

    In this study, in summary, we see that it evokes many strong emotions in those who workwith these girls. We saw treatment staff expressing the need for support in their work tokeep work enjoyable but also to create an understanding of the girl's behavior.Treatment staff uses clear protocol dealing with a girl who is injured. The protocol arepartly for the other girls who live in the same housing so that there will not be a contagioneffect and partly for the individual girl who does not get the attention which otherwisewould reinforce the behavior.We also see that the treatment staff needs support in their work to maintain a goodtreatment for girls.

    Our conclusion is that the staff group is the most important asset the treatment staff feelthat they have at work. Education is one of the important ways through which thetreatment staff maintain their enthusiasm to their work. Belonging to a cohesive workgroup provides staff with a feeling of security at their job place. Within a work group thereare also opportunities to reflect on difficult events. This allows the possibility to processwhat they experienced. Treatment personnel can despite an established approach feelambivalence in their work.

    In today's society, there is more and more talk about making use of human resources. Employment in today's labor market varies and an emerging type of employment is the time-limited one. Within the flexible form of employment, the consulting industry corresponds to a large proportion and is also seen as a knowledge-intensive professional area that is of great importance for organizations and society to take advantage of. The responsibilities for consultants work environment tends to end up between the client and consulting companies. The phenomena of motivation and integration is important for individuals to feel good about theme self and perform their maximum. This has made it important to examine what the consultants themselves feel is important for their feeling of motivation and integration in collaboration with the client companies.

    The purpose ofour study is therefore to investigate consultants sense of motivation and integration in collaboration with client companies, with the research questions: what is important for a feeling of motivation and what is important for a feeling of integration. Previous research results highlight the distinctive dual organizational affiliation that becomes a fact formany consultants, where studies further conclude that the inner motivation that affects consultants in knowledge-intensive work environments to a greater extent needs to betaken into account. The integration of consultants in client companies is important for cooperation between consultants and client companies to show good results. Theoretical point of departure for our study is based on the motivation theory Self-determination theory (SDT) where integration affects the feeling of belonging which is one of the three main factors to consider for perceived inner motivation, together with autonomy and competence. The approach to the study is a qualitative study of semi-structured interviews with eight resource consultants, employed by the same consulting company. The results show that the consultants feel competent and self-directed, but the factor belonging is at least contented on the basis of what is described as important for internal motivation. The respondents feel that they need to accept a certain exclusion in the client company, but they wish to be more integrated. Our analysis shows that the client company can do more to integrate consultants. This will not only give consequences for the consultant but for the collaboration, its results and in the long run the company's profitability. Conclusions that can be drawn are that it is the action of customer companies, management and their ability to look at the consultant as an important resource for the business that affects the consultants experience of motivation and integration.

    In 2014, Tanumshede in Sweden will open a new shopping center in form of Tanum Shoppingcenter. The center will have more than 65 stores and a business idea about being a new and modern shopping centre that offers customers a pleasurable shopping. However, establishing a new shopping center on the market is a rough challenge, a trial that has caused the downfall for several shopping centers. Due to this issue, the aim of the study and the research question has been to examine which factors are important for Tanum Shoppingcenter if they want to be an attractive place for the customers.

    To achieve the aim of the study and respond the research question, we have chosen to make a qualitative interview with Magne Andersen, project manager and future center manager for Tanum Shoppingcenter. A quantitative survey with ten questions has also been done to achieve the aim of the study. In this study has also theories been presented by a variety of authors to answer the research question and the aim of the study.

    The study revealed that key factors for Tanum Shoppingcenter to be considered as an attractive place will be to have an attractive location with a lot of attractive stores, restaurants and events. Tanum Shoppingcenter also has to understand their customers' needs and their competitors' strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities if they want to be considered as an attractive place for the customer to visit. Finally, Tanum Shoppingcenter needs to create a good partnership with other interested actors and be ready for future challenges to be considered as an attractive place on the market

    Abstract [en]

    During the last years there have been many discussions in election debates and in the press about school and teachers work situation. The result in the Swedish school has been decreasing in international studies and a lack of competent teachers has become more common according to the OECD (2015). In what way is the psychosocial work environments affected and are the teachers able to meet the demands without loss of health? Are the challenges realistic and is there an awareness of how this influences the health? This qualitative study consists of interviews with seven teachers in different ages between thirty-three and fifty-two years old in different counties in western Sweden. Three men and four women participated in semi-structured interviews that was based on an interview guide and thematically analyzed. The most important result was that the teachers perceived that their work strain was too high in many cases. The health was affected for many teachers due to stress and pains. Support from the colleagues is necessary to function well and have the strength to go on. Economic cut backs decrease the amount of support personnel and increase the demands further. The study shows that there is an opinion among teachers that if the administrative chores would be decreased their ability to do their work would increase. The results of the study are well in line with the OECD report (2015).

    'Race to the Bottom': A Case Study of Sweden's Corporate Tax Policies2018Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

    This thesis aims to describe the justification by the government for lowering the corporate tax rate in Sweden. The lowering of corporate tax is an accurate issue since it is currently a policy that is being debated in the majority of market economies due to its importance of affecting a state's income.

    To be able to study how the governments have justified the taxation rate, the study is looking at the two major ideologies in Sweden from 1980 to 2018. The left-wing bloc and the right-wing bloc and its respective ideological concepts which sets the analytical framework for the analysis. The thesis concentrates on literature regarding Swedish policy traditions and corporate tax where our contribution is a combination of these two fields of study where the aim is to describe how the government justify the corporate tax. The description is focusing on government propositions from 1980-2018, combined with research from The National Institute of Economic Research.

    The study shows mainly supporting arguments for the reduction of corporate tax in the derived concepts of deregulation, decommodification and globalisation. The thesis concludes that the main arguments for a tax reduction are mainly impacts from other states reducing theirs. The thesis draws on the conclusion that impact from globalisation creates arguments, that to remain competitive, and attract companies and investments, a lower tax in comparison to other states is preferable.

    Hence, in this study, the analytical framework used to analyse the empirical data has resulted in a conclusion that the defined concepts of neoliberalism such as, deregulation, free trade and globalisation mainly describes government's justification of a corporate tax cut.

    Abstract [en]

    Organizational learning or knowledge transfers in organizations is a large and wide subject, where there is much to read and acquire theory from. Many studies are also being carried out in this area to find keys to how knowledge transfer occurs. The concept of learning organization has grown in popularity over the years, owing to Peter Senge's theories in the book 'The fifth discipline - the art of the Learning Organization', which is considered to be a pillar of the subject.   The purpose of this paper is to see how the learning processes express themselves in an organization linked to five themes from the theory of learning organizations. These are; leadership, communication, reflection, teamwork, and organizational culture. Thus, the case study examines the organization's method of transfer of knowledge linked to selected themes.   The organization being investigated is a jointly-owned small education company in Stockholm. It has a flat organizational structure. The company proves to work with knowledge transfer in many different ways without directly saying that there is something that is an end of purpose or an end in itself. In the way that the company is organized and operated, a transfer of knowledge largely results in the work being done in small teams that are assembled based on the task. These teams are constantly changing. When a project is completed, the grouping is dissolved where its participants form new groupings based on the next project. The study also identifies that organizational culture has "high ceilings" and "freedom under responsibility" as paroles. The conclusion of the essay is, among other things, that the transfer of knowledge takes place in the daily work of the various factors that build a process and where people interact to achieve the best possible results to make the process efficient and create value. Working together as closely as possible and organizing work in teams that look different depending on the task for the moment, facilitates the dissemination of skills and knowledge transfer.

    Abstract [en]

    The European Union wants to standardize sustainability reporting with the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Once again, more and more enterprises will be subject to the mandatory requirements to disclose sustainability information – which may pose a challenge for less experienced small and medium sized enterprises. This study examines the perception of small and medium sized enterprises on sustainability reporting and its foundational concepts; namely environmental, social and governance (ESG) and materiality. The study was conducted on six individual companies and seven interviewees in total. The study concludes that there exists an overwhelmingly positive perception of sustainability reporting amongst the studied enterprises. However, there were signs that the studied companies were deficient in certain aspects. For example, all enterprises experienced difficulties in identifying aspects of their business that could be linked with governance sustainability. Similar results were discovered on the materiality topic. All enterprises had difficulties in understanding the term ‘materiality’. The study concludes that, despite the difficulty understanding materiality, the studied enterprises showed signs of being efficient in identifying material sustainability topics.

    Bakgrund: Det framgår ett ökat behov av forskning som undersöker naturens inverkan och betydelse för barn i olika åldrar (Kahn & Keller, 2002, s. 1–2). Det lyfts även en saknad av fler studier som studerar hur naturvetenskap påverkar och ges uttryck i förskolans verksamhet utifrån förskollärarens syn på sin egen roll (Due, Tellgren, Areljung, Ottander & Sundberg, 2018, s. 412).I dagens reviderade läroplan uttrycks det att naturvetenskap har fått ett större utrymme och att barns nyfikenhet och intresse kring natur ska främjas av förskolans verksamhet (Läroplan förförskolan [Lpfö18], 2018, s. 9). Bakgrunden för vår studie bygger även på vårt intresse för att vilja veta mer om vad som påverkar barns lärande om natur och naturvetenskap. Vi är nyfikna på att studera hur förskollärare kan komma att påverka hur barn både nu och senare i livet kan skapa en relation till sin omvärld. I studien behandlas begreppet natur som för oss innebär en plats där växter, djur och landskap existerar samt där människan bygger viktiga relationer. Vår studie behandlar även begreppet naturvetenskap som berör både natur, samhälle, yrke och fritid. Tidigare forskning visar att barn i mötet med natur och naturvetenskap kan bidra till kunskap som stärker deras vilja att värna om naturen.

    Syfte: Vårt syfte med studien är att undersöka hur förskollärares beskriver vad som påverkar barns möjlighet att lära om natur och naturvetenskap i förskolans verksamhet.

    Metod: Studien utgår från kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer i syfte att förskollärare får dela sin subjektiva uppfattning och förståelse kring aspekter som påverkar att barn tillägnar sig kunskap om natur och naturvetenskap.

    Resultat: Resultatet visar att förskollärare genomgående ser lärande om natur och naturvetenskap som något viktigt och intressant. Det har framkommit att undervisning om de båda ämnena främst bör ske i vardagliga sammanhang där barn upplever sig trygga och sedda. Undervisningen ses bygga på både spontana och planerade lärtillfällen. Ett tydligt mönster bland förskollärarna är att deras erfarenheter och kompetens inom de båda ämnesområdena inte upplevs som ett hinder. Dock ses förskollärarens egen kompetens och intresse för natur och naturvetenskap vara en fördel då det upplevs främja barns lärande positivt.

    Bakgrund Studien tog sin utgångspunkt i sociologiska begrepp som hegemonisk maskulinitet och rollkonflikt samt etnologiska studier om könsbaserad särbehandling för att vidare definiera begrepp som idealmaskulinitet, idealfemininitet, maskulin kodning, feminin kodning, diskriminering och aktiv diskriminering.

    Syfte Syftet med studien var att undersöka manlig förskolepersonals personliga erfarenheter av diskriminering och rollkonflikt samt att bidra till mer kunskap om ett ämne där mängden kvantitativa studier är liten.

    Metod Undersökningen använde sig av en kvantitativ enkätundersökning med ordinalskala. Därefter sammanställdes resultatet i statistiska diagram och en korrelationskoefficient beräknades mellan utvalda frågor genom bivariat korrelationsanalys. Det totala antalet informanter var 852.

    Resultat Resultaten visade att informanterna inte upplevt rollkonflikt, men att cirka 80% någon gång upplevt diskriminering. Ungefär en tredjedel av alla informanter hade någon gång blivit nekade av en vårdnadshavare att byta blöjor och ungefär en tiondel hade blivit nekade av sina kollegor att utföra blöjbyte. Att som informant bli nekad att leda 'vilo-stunder' var ovanligt, men de gånger denna typ av diskriminering inträffade så stod kollegorna för den i dubbelt så hög utsträckning som vårdnadshavarna.

    Bakgrund: Undersökningar visar att det finns en skillnad i resultat mellan elever med svenska som modersmål och de elever som har annat modersmål. Naturvetenskapliga begrepp förklaras ofta med ord som SVA-elever inte alltid är bekanta med. Eftersom SVA-lärare besitter mycket kunskap om språkutvecklande arbetssätt är de därför viktigt att de kan dela med sig av sina kunskaper till sina kollegor för att andraspråksinlärare ska kunna utveckla sina ämneskunskaper.

    Syfte: Studiens syfte är att undersöka en grupp SVA-lärares syn på samarbete mellan ämnet svenska som andraspråk och naturvetenskapliga ämnen.

    Metod: Studien använder sig av en kvalitativ forskningsmetod i form av semistrukturerade intervjuer. De lärare som har deltagit i studien är samtliga utbildade lärare i svenska som andraspråk. Intervjuerna tog plats på de två olika skolor som är lärarnas arbetsplatser.

    Resultat: Studiens resultat visar att det delvis finns ett fungerande samarbete på de två olika skolorna, men att det i de flesta fallen inte är schemalagda av ledningen. Resultatet visar att lärarna arbetar mycket med texttyper från NO och att de aktivt arbetar med svåra begrepp. Studiens resultat visar lärare delar med sig av sina planeringar för att möjliggöra ämnesövergripande undervisning.

    Bakgrund: Nyanlända elever med annat modersmål än svenska har dubbla utbildningsmål. Förutom att lära sig det svenska språket ska eleverna även lära sig ämneskunskaper på målspråket. För att lära sig ett ämnesspråk behöver de först ha kunskaper i vardagsspråket. Varje enskild elev ska ges möjligheterna att kommunicera för att få en tilltro till sin språkliga förmåga (Skolverket, 2022).

    Syfte: Studiens syfte är att undersöka hur NO-lärare utan SvA utbildning ser på bedömning av nyanlända elevers ämneskunskaper och på elevernas lärande i deras ämne samt om undervisningen är rättvis i förhållande till Lgr22.

    Metod: Studien använder sig av en kvalitativ forskningsmetod i form av semistrukturerade intervjuer. Informanterna är en mellanstadielärare samt tre högstadielärare behöriga i de naturvetenskapliga ämnena. Intervjuerna tog plats på pedagogernas arbetsplatser.

    Resultat: Studiens resultat visar att ett positivt samarbete mellan ämneslärare i NO och SvA, samt med studiehandledare bidrar till en positiv och gynnande lärandemiljö för nyanlända elever. Studien visar att eleverna ges olika sätt att visa sina kunskaper men att det kan vara svårt om nyanlända elever inte kan uttrycka sig på svenska. Vidare visar resultatet även att eleverna använder sitt modersmål till viss del i klassrummet under lektionstid.

    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of this essay is to create knowledge and understanding of what the gigeconomy means and what it has for the consequences for both those who do work (gigworkers) and those who need manpower (hiring companies/clients).

    The background to what Called gig-economy or platform economy is the technology development that led to the work today can be performed by anyone, anywhere, provided that access exists to digital tools. It creates the conditions for working digitally in a completely different way than before and the work is conveyed via platform companies, which in turn does not take any active part in the assignments that are conveyed.

    After an initial review of the legal prerequisites and the regulation relating to gig-work, a review of the consequences of current research in the field follows the effects of the gig economy. This mapping concerns the impact on a general plan for those who take gig work but also for the companies, clients, who take the help of gig-workers.

    The subject of the empirical study carried out via Semi structured qualitative interviews has been to hear the various actors, a total of ten, who act in the Swedish labour market, which includes employee organisations, Employers ' organizations, those who take gig missions, those who hire gig-workers, a platform company and a couple of other close stakeholders.

    The purpose of interviewing these has been to capture their experiences and experiences to highlight the consequences that previous research has shown in a Swedish perspective. The study mainly gives the perspective of the gig-workers with specialist expertise, although the issues in general are about consequences generally for gig-workers.

    The study has partly confirmed both the advantages and disadvantages of gig work, but also highlighted the issues from a Swedish perspective which, depending on the community structure and regulation, can differ significantly from other countries with other conditions in Labour market. What the gig-workers mainly appreciate with gig-work is the flexibility and the main disadvantage is the uncertainty of the influx of upcoming assignments. For clients, cost control is a prominent factor in choosing to hire a gig worker instead of hiring permanent staff. To the disadvantages of the clients is that they risk losing competence internally and possible challenges for the leadership.

    Overall, one of the conclusions is that gig-work is generally positive for both gig-workers, for those with specialist skills, and for the clients. The big losers are consultancy and consultancy brokers who risk becoming redundant in a market where platform companies can convey assignments in a more transparent way, which is beneficial for both gig-workers and clients.

    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of this paper is to draw attention to corporate visual identity; partly by mapping the field for future research – what we know and need to know – but also by providing theoretical and practical implications for professional practice. Managing corporate visual identity systems – containing guidelines for the use of name, symbol, logotype, fonts, colour and slogan – is namely a neglected research area in literature on communication and PR. This even though our western society is becoming more and more visually oriented with companies constantly competing for our attention. The paper takes the form of a literature review and begins with introducing theories on corporate visual identity, focusing on T.C. Melewar’s and John Saunders’ advocacy of its management as the eighth p "publications" in an extended marketing mix. After that, the process behind the systematic selection of empirical studies is rendered, which later is used to review the theories and investigate the arguments supporting Melewar’s and Saunders’ statement.

    The result of the study confirms that corporate visual identity includes elements beyond the traditional marketing mix and that organizations see benefits in moving past these to express other forms of visual communication. In addition to buildings, vehicles and clothing, smaller elements such as stationery and forms are also considered to be effective ways of projecting their visual identity. A consistent corporate visual identity is in turn attested to have a positive impact on a variety of things, including consumers, employees, corporate image, reputation, sales, recruitment and performance. To titulate the management of corporate visual identity systems as the eighth p "publications" in an extended marketing mix therefore feels in order.

    Bakgrund; Anledningen till att jag valde visionen Bättre ut som utgångspunkt för denna uppsats var att det är det dokument som alla, som vistas inom Kriminalvården skall känna till och arbeta utefter. I mitt arbete som lärare upplevde jag att samverkansarbetet inte fungerade inom visionen. Samtidigt fick jag signaler från intagna och anställda att kommunikationen inte verkade fungera i arbetet för ett Bättre ut. Därmed ville jag ta reda på om de signaler jag fått stämde överens med verkligheten.

    Syfte; Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur anställda och intagna beskriver och förhåller sig till kommunikationsaspekten av kriminalvårdens "Bättre ut"- verksamhet.

    Metod; Jag har valt den kvalitativa intervjun som metod. Jag valde metoden då jag avsett att få fram ett resultat som ger en samlad och representativ bild av Kriminalvårdens vision Bättre ut. Här beskrivs även urvalet av de intervjuade samt etiska ställningstaganden som tagits i bruk inför intervjuerna. Studien genomfördes på en anstalt i Västra Götalands län.

    Resultat; Resultatet jag fått har jag jämfört med tidigare forskning och kommit fram till att studien stämmer överens med den. Kommunikationen mellan de olika delarna som ingår i samverkansarbetet inom visionen Bättre ut brister och i vissa fall är den obefintlig. Det i sin tur leder till att utbildning, både för de intagna och de anställda, antingen blir bristfällig eller försvinner helt. Vilket i sin tur leder till att de intagna och de anställda inte får det resurser som behövs och med det försvåras arbetet för ett Bättre ut.

    How will shareholders of a target company react to a M&A? In this study, the aim was to analyze the impact of an announcement of a merger or an acquisition in the pharmaceutical sector. This sector is special since it is high cost including research, development, and patent. Moreover, the industry has a big role when it comes to how important it is to manufacture a vaccine and bring to the market. Which is currently an important topic during the ongoing pandemic of covid-19. Mergers and acquisitions are mechanisms for companies to obtain more control and achieve success.

    This report examined the short-term effect on share prices due to announcements of mergers and acquisitions during 2019-2020 of 14 companies. The method used is the market model and event study approach where abnormal returns are determined for each company for the event window (-7, +20). The results showed that all target companies achieved positive abnormal returns after the announcement day. The effect lasted the entire event period for all companies but one. The report concluded that positive abnormal returns are present in the short run for the pharmaceutical industry in 2019-2020.

    Bakgrunden till denna studie har grundats i vårt intresse för hur man som lärare arbetar för att aktivt förebygga och motverka mobbning. Vi har uppmärksammat att boksamtal är en bra ingång till de flesta samtal kring social problematik så som mobbning. Intresset för ämnet har grundats i att skolverket lyft fram att antimobbningsprogram inte är effektiva i arbetet mot mobbning och att det finns studier som lyfter boksamtal som ett sätt att som lärare arbeta effektivt för att lyfta problematiken. Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur boksamtal används av svensklärare i syfte att förebygga och motverka mobbning samt att ta reda på vilka möjligheter och utmaningar som finns med arbetssättet. Vi valde att använda oss av semistrukturerade enskilda intervjuer med svensklärare som metod för vår undersökning. Vårt resultat presenteras som en sammanhängande text med citat från olika lärare vi intervjuat. Resultatet påvisar att lärare använder boksamtal i olika syften, både kunskapsmässigt och socialt utvecklande. Läraren i förskoleklass poängterade det sociala arbetet mer än lärarna i de högre årskurserna och de menade alla på att boksamtal kring ämnen så som mobbning inte bör undvikas utan gärna börja användas så tidigt som möjligt i skolan.
