    Abstract [en]

    Human beings spend a large part of their lives in the workplace. For her to feel good it requires a good working environment; one important factor for this is that she should feel a physical and emotional safety in the workplace. Firefighters are an occupational group whose work is often the site of an accident or fire where large risks may occur. It has been shown that a functioning social interaction within the working group contributes to the likelihood of personal safety. Based on the purpose to study and understand the firefighters' beliefs about how social interactions affect their safety, a qualitative study was conducted. The research participants were six male firefighters between the ages of 28-46 who have been working for 3-15 years. Each participant has a Swedish firefighter training (SMO). Semi-structured interviews were conducted using an interview guide. The material was processed and analyzed with thematic analysis with the help of riskhomeostas theory and FIRO-theory. Based on the thematic analysis four themes emerged: (1) Perceived control leads to perceived safety (2) The importance of roles in the team (3) The significance of open communication (4) Trusting each other. The results showed that the firefighters felt that they were the most secure in the workplace when they had a perceived control. The results also showed that they believed that social interaction was important for their safety. The factors that stood out when it came to social interaction were open communication, clear roles within the work group and to have trust in each other. The conclusion that was drawn was that the firefighters felt that social interaction has an impact on safety.

    Bakgrund: Litteratururvalet med fokus på hedersrelaterat våld och ungdomars attityder har gett mig en ram för arbetet och har varit till hjälp vid analys och bearbetning av resultaten. Hirdmans genusteori och Gemzöes definition av etnicitet och kulturskillnader utgör grunden för min studie.Syfte: Det övergripande syftet med denna undersökning är att ta reda på vilka attityder ungdomar har samt att ta reda på om det finns några skillnader och i så fall vilka, vad gäller ungdomars attityder till hedersrelaterat våld, utifrån kön och etnisk bakgrund.Metod: För syftet som jag nämnt ovan har jag använt mig av en kvantitativ enkätstudie. Empirin består av 405 enkätsvar från gymnasieungdomar. Enkätstudien är genomförd på två gymnasieskolor i två olika kommuner.Resultat: I mina analys har jag behandlat följande kategorier; Attityder till hedersrelaterat våld som ett viktigt ämne, Attityder kring faktorer som ligger bakom hedersrelaterat våld och attityder till att arbeta och förebygga hedersrelaterat våld. Utifrån de empiriska data har jag dragit slutsatsen att ungdomarna anser att det är allvarligt med hedersrelaterat våld och är något som bör förebyggas. Ungdomars attityder till hedersrelaterat våld skiljer sig utifrån kön och etnisk bakgrund. Sammanfattningsvis visar resultaten att flickor anser att hedersrelaterat våld är mer allvarligt i högre grad än pojkar. Även ungdomar med en svensk bakgrund anser att hedersrelaterat våld är mer allvarligt i högre grad än ungdomar med en invandrarbakgrund

    Abstract [en]

    Background: The experiences of war in childhood can have negative consequences throughout life. War consists of brutal violence against civilians, even though the Fourth Geneva Convention and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child exist to protect individuals. During war, children also live in unsafe environments, and war brings deterioration and limitations to children's lives. These restrictions can mean that children are not allowed to play and go to school. Good experiences in childhood are important for the brain to develop positively. Due to the unsafe environment, there are risks that the development of the brain will be negative. It can lead to trauma and mental illness.

    Aim: The purpose is to explain the experiences of adult individuals of having lived in war in their childhood. 

    Method: The method that has been used in this study is an integrative compilation of qualitative research inspired by meta-synthesis. By systematically searching for literature, seven articles were found that answered the purpose. The articles were analyzed which resulted in two themes and six sub-themes.

    Results: In the result, two themes and six subthemes are reported. The first theme was "experiences of uncertainty" and the subthemes to it were "fear", "betrayal" and "sorrow". The second theme was “the feeling of not being enough” and the subthemes to it were “helpless”, “abandoned” and “guilt and shame”.

    Conclusion: In this study, war environments have been shown to cause negative feelings in people who have experienced war in their childhood. These negative experiences have a direct connection to children's lack of safety in terms of support and the presence of adults in war environments.

    Abstract [en]

    Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) or drone as it is called in modern day language, is an unmanned aircraft. The first time it has been used was in the military. During the past years, the use of UAS has been more common. It is because of this engineering that the collection of data is possible. The drones themselves are equipped with cameras. The collection of data happens when the cameras take pictures on top of the ground level during the flight.The aim of this study is to find pros and cons about UAS photography during map making and tofind out if this engineering could replace or complement the traditional way of map making. The RMS value (also known as Root Mean Square value) varies between different screening and that could be due to different factors. Some of the factors could be what type of ground it is, asphalt and gravel, flight height, or one could investigate which type and size of support dots that has been used, the weather and so on. The two last examples could affect the precision of the measurements. The result of this study is that UAS-photography could replace or complement the traditional mapmaking methods. This study has through different scientific articles and earlier studies with the help of UAS photography been able to make map making more effective. The total time for these measurements were very short compared to the traditional measurements. This could bring a faster map making via UAS-photography. The precision in the experiment has been approved by the HMK-recommendations that are 5 centimeters

    Ur ett socialarbetarperspektiv ämnar studien att utforska vilka levnadsvillkor som kan bidra med att unga män involveras i drogrelaterad brottslighet i socialt utsatta bostadsområden, där frågor om skyddsfaktorer och riskfaktorer är förekommande. Studien använder sig av stämplingsteorin som ett ramverk. Studien använder en kvalitativ metod genom semistrukturerade intervjuer med socialarbetare för att förstå deras perspektiv på arbetet med unga män som påverkas av drogrelaterad brottslighet. Resultaten tyder på att de vanligaste anledningarna till att unga män engagerar sig i drogrelaterad brottslighet är en bristande föräldraroll, bristande motivation samt svart ekonomi och status. Studien visar också att unga män stigmatiseras och stämplas som "droganvändare" och "brottslingar" av samhället. Stämplingarna kan ha en betydande påverkan på deras identitetsutveckling, självkänsla och livsbana. Studien betonar vikten av att kunna förstå de underliggande orsakerna till drogrelaterad brottslighet, istället för att enbart fokusera på unga mäns avvikande beteenden. Således belyser studien det komplexa samspelet som finns mellan sociala sammanhang och drogrelaterad brottslighet bland unga män i socialt utsatta bostadsområden, vilket uppmanar till en mer nyanserad förståelse av frågan.

    Abstract [en]

    Background: Over 40 million people around the world suffer from incurable illness or injury each year and need palliative care. The patient experience of end-of-life care needs to be illustrated, to make the healthcare better. There is little knowledge about the social, psychological, and existential dimensions of palliative care. Therefore, it is of relevance that the nurse has knowledge about the patient’s experiences, to be able to offer a better care. 

    Aim: The aim of this study was to describe adult patients’ experiences of palliative care. 

    Method: The study was based on a literature study, that had a qualitative approach. Ten scientific articles were searched and selected from databases Cinahl and PubMed, with inclusion criteria's adults, English language, year 2012-2022. The articles were analysed using Friberg’s (2017) five steps process. 

    Results: Three major themes emerged: safety and its impact, the significance of the relationship to healthcare staff, and the impact of palliative care. The patients expressed the value of a good communication with the healthcare staff, to enable feeling safe, seen and understood. Patients better understanding of palliative care resulted in feeling secure. And through receiving practical help, they maintained autonomy and self-determination. 

    Conclusion: This study emphasized that patients' experiences of receiving palliative care is important to uptain a good quality of life. Whereas person-centered care, good communication skills, and good quality of care are central parts.

    This study examines the framing of the Ukrainian and Syrian refugees by the Sweden Democrats Party. Using the analytical framework based on theories of European identity and welfare chauvinism, the research investigates how party representatives frame the Ukrainian refugees compared to the Syrian refugees. The study employs qualitative content analysis to explore the discursive strategies used by the Sweden Democrats through the application of Bacchi's "What's the Problem Represented to be?" approach. Through a comparative design, the research identifies patterns in the party's framing of Ukrainian and Syrian refugees, providing an in-depth assessment of the issue. The findings reveal distinct differences in the party's approach towards refugees from two different regions. The Sweden Democrats emphasize a European identity and shared cultural background when discussing Ukrainian refugees, portraying them as deserving of assistance due to their proximity and commonality. The party's stance on refugee policy reflects welfare chauvinism, prioritizing the welfare of native-born Swedes over that of refugees and migrants from both regions: it is noteworthy that the Sweden Democrats' anti-immigration framing remains consistent regardless of the refugee group. The research highlights similarities between the framing of both refugee groups, such as concerns about resource shortages and declining public services. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the multifaceted nature of refugee challenges and the socio-political context in which they are situated

    Abstract [en]

    In this master thesis a flexible manufacturing system for a PTC machine hall has been modelled and simulated using RobCad. This system includes several equipments and machines which have been modelled and arranged to come up with three possible layouts. The machine hall in UW will be moved to a new place in Innovatum (a research area in Trollhättan). The machines were chosen from the existing machine hall according to UW requirements in order not to buy new machines because of economic reasons. The number of cells was also set by UW. The machines and equipments that will be moved are; two CNC machines, three ABB robots, a 4-axis gantry robot which transport the materials between the cells and a conveyor or a flex link which has been proposed in this project for the loading/unloading station use. The purposes of moving the machine hall to Innovatum are: - More people will be able to use the machine hall (i.e. UW, other schools and costumers from other companies for training purposes). - The environment will be more available to do more production operations using the robots and machines. - It will be a good opportunity to develop the programs and software, for that will let UW be able to hire a whole automation package to the costumers. - Students will be nearby to the industries'9 environment and may have more contact with different companies. - Since the new machine hall will attract costumers it will gain incomes to UW. Three layouts have been proposed in this thesis work, and these layouts fulfil all or most of the requirements of the costumers and users.

    Abstract [en]

    After many long power failure occurrences on the overhead line that feeds the receiving substation Torsred, and because of the household expansion in nearby area, Trollhättan Energi Elnät AB has decided that a new receiving substation that replaces the existing one should be built at a new location. This thesis includes investigation and calculation of a new electricity network and suggestions on how the new electricity network can integrate with the existing one. Also, a new selective coordination plan and new backup power alternatives are investigated.

    The existing receiving substation Torsred is fed by Vattenfall Eldistribution AB:s 130/10 kV transformer OT00 by an 1 km long overhead line. The neutral point in Torsred is connected to the high voltage bar and consists of neutral grounding resistor and neutral point reactor. The total load current in Torsred is 925 A and during short-circuit in the busbar 154 MVA short-circuit power emerges. The substation Ängen with a short-circuit power 138 MVA is an underlying substation to Torsred that feeds the areas Öresjö, Edsäter and Hjärtum. All the outgoing electric lines in Torsred and Ängen are protected with relay protection and with different time- and current setting on these relays is selectivity installed for the underlying electrical network.

    The new receiving substation is planned to be built near the feeding point OT00. According to calculations the short-circuit power in the new receiving substations will be 227 MVA and in Ängen 200 MVA. The capacitive current increases because the over 1 km overhead line is demolished, and additional 7,5 km underground cable is added on in the new electrical network. A neutral point reactor needs to be upgraded to a 20 A bigger than the existing one because of the increasing capacitive generation in the electrical network. The price to build the receiving substation will be about 9 Mkr. The existing receiving substation Torsred will be demolished and replaced with a new 800 kVA network substation which will be used to feed a couple of the low voltage network in the area Strömslund. The distribution substation Ängen will be modernized. The total price for the whole project is calculated to 11,4 Mkr.

    Readiness or resistance?: Newly arrived adult migrants' experiences, meaning making, and learning in Sweden2017Doctoral thesis, monograph (Other academic)
    Abstract [en]

    This thesis is about newly arrived adult migrants' meaning making and learning in Swedish society during the two years' introduction period, after they have received the residence permit. I have specifically studied Arabic speaking adults' meaning making and learning, by carrying out observations and individual in-depth interviews with 12 migrants. The introduction period consists mainly of three so called introduction measures; the civic orientation course, Swedish for immigrants (SFI), and different work related activities, such as internship at different work places.The results show that etablering is about shaping the newly arrived adult migrants into "good" citizens, through the introduction measures, among other things in the civic orientation course, which is regulated through the policy documents, and which so to say provides meaning to the newly arrived. The "good" citizen has some specific characteristics, which, roughly, are that he or she is independent (and advocates individuality), free, equality thinking, secularized, law-abiding (which includes being honest), responsible, and a "good" parent. These characteristics are expressed in different ways in the civic orientation course, for instance through the course material. The Swedish society is described as something desirable, and different from what is implied to be "Arabic" values and ways of thinking. The idea of the "good" citizen appears to aim at constructing the adult migrants' (and their families') identity, something which many of the study's respondents make a resistance to.As concerns the migrant's new experiences, it is, for example, those which the migrant get through the contact with the Swedish Public Employment Service (SPES) that affect the meaning making in the new society. The meaning which most of the respondents have made of the SPES's measures for them is that this authority only offers "prepackaged" solutions, and does not provide the help or support that they need. Also the experiences which the migrant has in the civic orientation course, and the meaning which "old" migrants give to him or her, play a role when he or she makes meaning of Sweden and Swedes, and of his or her new life situation. Further, it has been shown that it is those experiences that the adult individual has been socialized through, and those which he or she has gained through work or education in his or her country of origin, which affect his or her meaning making in Sweden. It is mostly values which concern child upbringing and religion that lead to a certain understanding and construction of one's new life. These values, when related to the values which are included in the "good" citizen idea, also lead to either a resistance or a readiness towards the meaning giving that is embedded in the "good" citizen notion.

    Abstract [en]

    According to Boverket's housing market survey 2018, which is a result of a national survey of the housing market in Sweden, there is a deficit in housing in 243 of Sweden's 290 municipalities. In order to meet increased demand for housing, increased housing construction is needed. Detailed development plans govern the rights, construction rights, which indicate what and to what extent property owners can build land. Detailed development plans are the legally binding documents that are established and adopted by municipalities in order to determine, among others, the use of land and water areas. There are several reasons for housing shortage and one is that Sweden's population continues to increase, both due to natural population growth and because of immigration. A growing population entails, for instance, an increase in housing demand, which in turn places demands on the housing market. The demand and supply of housing need to match each other. Another reason is that today it is the private sector that accounts for the majority of housing supply. The private sector does not have the responsibility that municipalities have in terms of meeting the residents' housing needs. The private actors intend to make a profit. Consequently, privately owned construction and housing companies build when it is economically beneficial and not just because there is a housing requirement. Due to the fact that there are still housing shortages in most municipalities, which is problematic, it is interesting to investigate which factors are important for housing construction.

    Current detailed development plans for housing purposes were studied. The detailed development plans that had not been implemented were used as starting material during interviews with relevant actors.

    The purpose of the study was to try to find out what factors affect the fact that detailed development plan land for housing purposes is not built.

    The study's results show that among the factors it is primarily the market situation, high business activity and recession, which affect whether housing construction is going to start or not. There are also factors such as construction law handling times that affect how soon a residential building can get started.

    The conclusion of the study was, among other things, that the market situation seems to be the most influential factor and because the market is governed by profit-dependent players, supply and demand will not always meet. Other conclusions that were drawn were that what is being built is not what is requested and that the building permits take longer than is required by plan- och bygglagen.

    Background: To work in Palliative Care can be difficult and challenging for nurses, in which they meet existential issues concerning life and death. This requires nurses to meet the patient's relatives to discuss these issues. Nurses have the responsibility to invite patients and their relatives to converse about existential issues.

    Aim: To describe the nurse’s experience of existential conversation with both patients at the end of life and their relatives.

    Method: The study was based on a qualitative literature study with ten scientific articles. The articles were searched from databases Cinahl and PubMed. Friberg’s five-step model was used to analyze the articles.

    Results: Through the analyses, three major themes were formed: The experience of communication in existential conversation described meaningful and important to be attentive and active listening. The experience of vulnerability described the feeling of fear, anxiety and despair and the feeling of inadequacy and powerlessness. The experience of factors that influence existential conservation that described the lack of time and own experience and experienced colleagues who provide better conditions to perform the conversations.

    Conclusion: Nurses experienced different emotions while providing an existential conversation. Conservation about existential needs to alleviate the patients and their relatives' suffering experienced as meaningful. While the feeling of inadequacy and powerlessness to alleviate the patient’s suffering and the feeling of fear, anxiety and despair about their own death and life created negative emotions in nurses that lead them to feel more vulnerable.

    Background: Dementia is a growing health problem that not only affects the individual but also their relatives. Symptoms cause impairment to varying degrees making life difficult for both the individual and their relatives. At first the demented person may be able to cope by himself but often need assistance from family member and healthcare the further down into the disease. Aim: The aim of the study was to describe experiences of being a relative of a person afflicted with dementia, Method: A literature-based study was performed based on ten scientific qualitative studies. Result: Three themes with seven subthemes emerged from the analysis: to get support, a changed relationship and a need for information and education. Conclusion The results showed that a change happens within the relationship to the demented person and that relatives needed support from different places and information and education to manage the changes and their health. The result clearly shows that being a relative to a demented person comes with hardships and changes to one daily life. To be able to withstand the hardships and changes relatives need support throughout the entire disease.     Machining processes studies and theories can be referred back to the beginnings of machine age, but recent developments in information technologies (Computers, processors, etc.) make it easier for the researchers to predict material behaviour during different machining processes.

    Machining is not a simple process to analyse due to the amount of variables affecting on it, in this study the author is trying to analyse and explain the forces acting on a AISI 1045 workpiece during the removal of material’s second layer using FEM, one of the challenging problems was to re implement the forces resulted from the first layer removal in the new cutting process to give the study more reliable output to compare with the actual results obtained previously the procedure used to reach this is explained in chapter 3, there are many software used to define FEM analysis each has its benefits and limitations, LS-DYNA which is used in this study is one of those software "it is capable of simulating nonlinear problems involving large deformations, sophisticated material models and complex contact conditions".

    As well as LS-DYNA, HyperMesh and Ls-prepost are used in this study to mesh the tools and workpiece, and pre-set the material parameters respectively.

    This study is a part of a research project between Tenstar Simulation AB and University West with the purpose of developing pedagogical knowledge regarding Tenstar Simulation’s avatar-technology in Virtual Reality (VR) as an educational tool. VR has become more and more common in education with the purpose of making the learning process for students more efficient. The purpose of this study is to explore and investigate the pedagogical implications of VR, with a particular emphasis on Avatar technologies, for a teacher’s teaching context. The data collection method used in this study was semi-structured interviews, the interviews were individual interviews and the participants consisted of both teachers and Tenstar Simulation’s employees. The results indicated among other things that both VR and avatars have pedagogical benefits, where VR is a meaningful tool to facilitate training that is applicable to real life situations. Whereas avatars can afford the teacher more ways to observe the student’s actions in the VR-environment as well as affording more ways of communication between teacher and student. However, one challenge regarding potential teachers being critical to the use of the technologies was highlighted.

    This thesis presents the approach of determining the machining  errors on a five axis CNC machine using sensors already fitted in the machine to extract valuable data up on process called CITE(CNC Integrity Tracing Equipment) system and measuring the machined workpiece geometry using CMM(Coordinate measurement machine). CITE measurement system is the data acquisition hardware and software system developed by University West for collecting position information from encoders of a machine tool. The collected information could then be used to assess the quality and adjustment of a machine tool, CNC programs and the CNC control parameters. The aim of this study is to examine the roundness and concentricity detection capacity of the CITE system by conducting different milling methods and a turning process. In an example cutting of a workpiece, the CITE measurement system was used for recording the machining process. After that, radial error, centre point deviation and circle roundness errors, analysed using MATLAB based on collected CNC tool movement data. CMM measurement used to verify the results obtained from the CITE measurement system. The investigation conducted on the small circles shows that the CITE measurement system have capability of identifying radial errors in different method of millings (slot, up and down). Centre point deviation and roundness errors measured by the CITE system doesn`t show significant differences between milling methods as seen on CMM measurement.

    Bakgrund: Eftersom vi båda har ett stort intresse av fysisk aktivitet är det ett ämne vi brinner för. Som blivande fritidslärare var vi nyfikna på att undersöka vilka uppfattningar fritidslärarna har om fysisk aktivitet och vilka möjligheter det förekommer för eleverna att vara fysiskt aktiva på fritidshemmet.

    Syfte: Syftet med examensarbetet är att belysa fritidslärares uppfattningar kring fysisk aktivitet inom fritidshemmets verksamhet

    Metod: För att besvara frågeställningarna använde vi oss av kvalitativa intervjuer som insamlingsmetod.

    Resultat: Sammanfattningsvis visar vårt resultat att fritidslärarnas egna intressen har en stor påverkan på vilka aktiviteter som oftast utförs. Det framkommer också att fritidslärarna till viss del planerar de fysiska aktiviteterna utefter barnens intressen men att planeringstiden har en negativ påverkan på hur ofta planerade fysiska aktiviteter genomförs. I samtliga intervjuer nämns det att utomhusmiljön bidrar till stora möjligheter att främja fysisk aktivitet, men att olika skolmiljöer och skolgårdar kan se olika ut och därför måste man förhålla sig till det som finns. Däremot påpekas det att inomhusmiljön skapar svårigheter i att erbjuda fysisk aktivitet förutom några få inslag av exempelvis dansspel. Det som dock är genomgående i våra intervjuer är att samtliga fritidslärare anser att fritidsgympan i idrottshallen är den inomhusmiljö som främjar för fysisk aktivitet.

    Wherever migration or travelling takes place, people need to learn new languages. This learning entails a variety of interlanguages. Irrespective of whether you are a learner or a teacher of a language, you need to decide how to allocate time and effort for learning and teaching into developing different sub-skills of the language. Four skills are considered in second language teaching and learning; listening, reading, speaking and writing. Proficiency in speaking requires sub-competences, such as pragmatic competence, fluency or making a clear pronunciation. Even having each of these sub-competences for speaking require having sub-skills. For example, to have a "good" pronunciation, one needs to well realise segmental features: phonemes, phonotactics, assimilations, and prosodic features: rhythm and intonation. Most of the time, young children learning their first language (L1) as well as additional languages (L2's) acquire these pronunciation skills without formal training and often reach a native-like speech also in additional languages. By contrast, adult learners of an additional language seldom reach nativelikeness in their pronunciation of the language. However, ideally, they still can achieve a fluent, intelligible and well-received pronunciation of the language. The present paper is concerned with the pronunciation of Swedish as an additional language, in particular, three phonemic prosodic contrasts, namely stress contrast, quantity contrast and tonal word accent contrast. We attempt to find out, among these three prosodic contrasts, which is more crucial than the others for making one's speech intelligible. That is, if the second language learner cannot acquire all of them perfectly, which of them should be given more priority in learning and teaching Swedish pronunciation? We also want to study whether or not a pronunciation lacking one or two of these contrasts can still be well understood.

    Underhållsavdelningen på Volvo Aero ansvarar för reservdelshanteringen vid köp av nya utrustningar. För att minska tiden för produktionsstopp måste reservdelar finnas tillgängliga på lager när ett behov uppstår. Vid inköpsstadiet erhålls en rekommenderad reservdelslista från maskinleverantören. Erhållen reservdelslista används främst när maskindelar går sönder, för att se vilka möjliga leverantörer som finns. Något arbete med vilka reservdelar som bör finnas tillgängliga utförs inte. Den strategi som används idag är att reservdelar beställs hem efter den erfarenhet som erhålls under maskinens drift.

    Ett arbetssätt har tagits fram för att hantera den rekommenderade reservdelslistan och därmed öka tillgängligheten i utrustningen och få en bättre ekonomi. Arbetssättet består av fyra steg. Första steget är att se över vilka av de rekommenderade reservdelarna som finns på Volvo Aeros egna förråd. Steg två är att ta fram en ny beställningspunkt för de reservdelar som redan finns på lager förutsatt att förbrukningen kommer att öka. Steg tre är att val om lagerläggning räknas ut matematiskt då livslängden för reservdelen är känd. Steg fyra innebär att feleffektsanalys skall göras för beslut om lagerläggning för reservdelar med icke känd livslängd. I den rekommenderade reservdelslistan ska information som till exempel artikelbenämning, fabrikat, typbeteckning dessutom erhållas om respektive reservdel. Arbetssättet ska tillsammans med informationen från reservdelslistan avgöra om vilka reservdelar som ska lagerläggas.

    Ett verktyg har också tagits fram för att förenkla arbetssteg ett till fyra. För att verktyget ska kunna användas fullt ut måste maskinleverantören följa Volvo Aeros tekniska specifikation, där det står beskrivet att rekommenderade reservdelar skall anges med en viss data. Data som artikelbenämning, fabrikat och typbeteckning måste finnas i Volvo Aeros system på alla reservdelar som lagrats för att steg ett ska kunna utföras. Den nuvarande tekniska specifikationen bör dessutom kompletteras med uppgifterna om felfrekvens, hur många av reservdelen som finns i maskin och om reservdelen är reparerbar. Dessa uppgifter är en hjälp för att lättare avgöra om reservdelarna skall lagerläggas alternativt köpas vid behov. Arbetssättet och tilläggen i den tekniska specifikationen ska förhoppningsvis leda till ett mer strukturerat arbetssätt och en mer ekonomisk reservdelshantering.

    This bachelor’s thesis examines the perception of gender stereotyped fashion advertisement according to two generational groups of women (>60 or <25) without university degrees. The study is comparative and derives from a problem definition which focuses on the (re)production of gender roles through advertisement which perpetuates unequal power structures. The study aims to describe the perception of the two groups through in-depth interviews with six women in total. Thus, the study uses a qualitative approach and has a twoparted theoretical framework. The selection of advertisements that are reviewed by the respondents originates from the Male Gaze theory and the Madonna/Whore Complex with indicators of nudity and position. Moreover, the interviewees’ responses are analyzed through the Madonna/Whore Complex, the Objectification Theory and the Theory of Generations. This thesis suggests that the categorization of women as Whores or Madonnas in advertisement is perceived to be true by both groups. It proposes a great generational difference, as that the younger generation women see the categorization of women as either Whores or Madonnas in the social world, while the older do not. Concluding, harmful beauty norms and feminine behavioral traits seem to be partly internalized

    Elnätet dimensioneras för att klara årets största effekttoppar. Det är viktigt att överväga sammanlagringen mellan flera kunder, eftersom individuella kunders effekttoppar skulle ge felaktiga uppskattningar av nätstationens högsta förbrukning. Idag finns det timinformation om varje nätstations förbrukning, vilket inte fanns tidigare. Tidigare uppskattades storleken på effekttoppar i nätstationen från den årliga förbrukningen för uppkopplade kunder enligt den så kallade Velanders formel. För att utvärdera denna uppskattning av toppeffekten jämfördes nätstationens och underliggande kunders timförbrukning med de effekter som beräknats med denna formel. Resultatet av jämförelsen visade att formeln i vissa stationer överskattade eller underkastade storleken på den förväntade toppeffekten. Det förändrade energi-till-effektförhållandet på grund av laddning av en elbil gör att nya Velanderkonstanter behöver tas fram för hushåll med elbilsladdare. För att kunna göra dettaär det även viktigt att elnätsföretagen får information om montering av laddboxar och dess maximala laddeffekt. Historisk har elnätet ofta överdimensionerats, till stor del på grund av osäkerheten om förväntad förbrukningen och den ofta relativt låga kostnadsökningen medatt välja en grövre kabel i samband med utbyggnad av elnätet. Med elektrifieringen av fordonsflottan och produktionen av el med solceller hos konsumenter ökar belastningen på lågspänningsnäten och inmatning kan förekomma till nätstationer. Genom förbättrad mätning i nätstationer kan skillnaden mellan verkliga toppeffekten och dimensionerad maximal effekt minskas. Detta i sin tur kan minska behovet av nyinvestering i nätet för att klara energiomställningen.

    Investigations on remote temperature sensing of yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) at the surface and at the bond-coat/top-coat interface were carried out. Using Y2O3:Eu thermographic phosphor as an embedded temperature sensing layer, sub-surface temperature probing through 300 mu m of atmospheric plasma sprayed YSZ is demonstrated. The Y2O3:Eu thermographic phosphor displays a temperature sensitivity ranging between 400 degrees C up to a maximum of 900 degrees C when utilizing the luminescence originating from the 611 nm emission band. Dysprosium stabilized zirconia (10 wt.% DySZ), a TBC material, is also investigated and established as a temperature sensor from 400 degrees C up to a temperature of 1000 degrees C using both the intensity decay time and emission intensity ratio methods. In addition, the luminescence of presumed optically inactive YSZ materials was spectroscopically investigated in terms of optical interferences caused by impurities. A validation temperature probing measurement through 300 mu m of YSZ top-coat was successfully performed in a SGT-800 Siemens burner running at six different operating conditions in an atmospheric combustion rig.     In this study, we examine the everyday experiences immigrant youths from two youth activities in the suburb have about racism. To do this, we focused on two main areas, first how everyday racism inherent in young people's lives, and secondly how they deal with their experiences of racism. To be able to examine their experience have we done a qualitative research approach used by semi-structured interviews on seven young immigrants from the suburb. Our meta-theoretical perspective has been social-constructionism, with post-colonialism as the main theoretical basis. According to this we use the concepts ''the Other'' and stereotyping, which are applied to the material. The material has been encoded, thematized, categorized and analyzed on the basis of the above theoretical perspectives.

    Concluding remarks is that the racial story along with colonial values today characterize and affects the life of the young people living in the suburbs in a tangible way. This is mainly expressed through a perceived differentness and inequality between those who are racialized and those which are considered as the norm in society. That was depicted through two different forms, first through an experience of being categorized as '' the other '' and secondly by judged by stereotypes. These forms was actualized by the remains of the racial-doctrine, where the slave, and the animals were clearly visible, and also by a stereotyping by attributes like the beard, shawl, and the place suburb, which the result show that resulted in that young people is being regarded as eg suicide bombers, terrorists, and gangsters. Moreover, the results also show that the way to deal with racism was varied, but we have been able to categorize them in three main strategies: to try stay in safe areas, to stay away from racism in different ways (avoiding, removing, negotiating, adaptation), and to resist through group activities. Finally, we problemized and discusses how the immigrant youth experiences of racism directly or indirectly leads to social exclusion.

    Abstract [en]

    COVID-19 pandemic forced many education programmes to switch to e-learning strategies. However, in many cases adopting e-learning occurred urgently and without sufficient study. This research aimed to invistigate aspects that may contribute to enhancing e-learning effectiveness for physicians in a residency education program and help in achieving its goals. This was performed by conducting a synthetic literature review to establish a theoretical understanding of what e-learning strategies might help in this situation. Furthermore, a qualitative analysis was performed on course evaluations survey data to invistigate learners’ perception on joining e-learning courses. Analysis results was used to study their level of satisfaction and compare the findings to the outcome of the literature review in order to build more clear understanding of e-learning success to help education organizers in choosing an effective e-learning strategy.

    Through a literature review in combination with qualitative analysis of course evaluations, this study examines aspects that contribute to enhancing elearning for physicians in a residency education program. The literature review and the qualitative analysis outline three main factors (pedagogical, technological, and organizational), highlighting the importance of a holistic approach that includes learning and technology in context when integrating e-learning strategies in adult learning programs. The findings contribute insights and practical guidance for education organizers on how to conduct e-learning during and after the pandemic.

    Internationalisation of higher education and teacher education has been a key issue since the 1990s and many universities still attempt to increase student mobility ever since. Much research has been done on the topic of internationalisation and higher education, including teacher education trying to show how a certain programme impacts on students’ learning, especially intercultural learning when it comes to programmes in teacher education. These studies are often directed towards programmes that last several months or a whole year. The focus of this study is rather to explore if and in what way experiences in a two-week field study can contribute to a student teacher’s intercultural learning and professional development. The findings of the research show that even a short field study has an important impact on the individual student teacher’s understanding of themselves and on awareness of teachers’ living and working conditions in a different culture like South Africa.

    Abstract [en]

    Milling is one of the most crucial processes in machining. Every industry demands a stable milling process for a smoother finish and material cost reduction. Chatter is a vibrating phenomenon which affects the workpiece's quality, its dimensional accuracy, and tool life. It is required to classify the chatter phenomenon to devise an effective chatter prevention strategy.

    Several classification strategies are being used, including frequency and time-related strategies. Since the chattering phenomenon is a frequency-based phenomenon so a frequency-based feature set can be of vital importance. However, frequency-based strategies have a problem of noise. The noise problem can be addressed by combining frequency and time-domain methods.

    Thus, a hybrid approach based on the frequency and time-based feature set is developed and used in conjunction with k-means-based unsupervised learning to come up with a practical but reliable classifier. The proposed classifier algorithm offers good performance, clearly distinguishing between chatter and stable conditions.

    Based on the chatter classification in this work, it is possible to identify thresholds for chattering detection. It is essential to mention that the thresholds obtained from this work will only be useful for the machine and tool used in the experiments and will not be of use for other machines and need more investigation.

    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of the study is to assess the life cycle impacts of conventional grit-blasting and FSL patterning as an alternative surface preparation. FSL has notable advantages in that it does not leave any contaminationon surface, whereas grit blasting does. By employment of Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) method, a powerful methodology for evaluating the environmental impacts of the process used in the production of a product could be utilised. The LCA methodology largely relies on data about inputs, outputs and environmental impacts of a process. It has four iterative phases, namely clear definition of goal and scope, inventory analysis, impact assessment and interpretation. The goal was set as the evaluation of the environmental impact between conventional grit-blasting and femtosecond laser patterning. The scope restricted the system boundary to 'cradle to gate' without the consideration of machinery. Data was gathered from multiple sources under limitations imposed by COVID-19 and other factors. The impact assessment employed the LCA Impact 2002+ Endpoint methodology to process data inputs to determine the comparative impacts of both systems on climate change, ecosystem quality, resources, and human health. The interpretation of the LCA Impact 2002+ method applied to a Canadian scenario showed that the femtosecond laser was significantly less damaging on all metrics except for human health. Human health was disadvantaged for the femtosecond laser solely because of ionising radiation, which could potentially be mitigated through radiation safety protocols. A sensitivity analysis using the Impact 2002+ model was run for India. The results were very different and showed less damage to all four categories for grit blasting. This is driven by the higher electricity consumption (57 times more) of the femtosecond laser process combined with the difference in the source of power generation in India, where the generation of electricity causes more damage due to its greater reliance on non-renewable fossil fuels. Further exploration can be done to enhance the data inputs into this model as per the limitations and assumptions already stated.

    Abstract [en]

    This bachelor´s thesis has been carried out at Parker Hannifin Manufacturing Sweden AB in Trollhattan. The thesis presents concept development for a workspace in a manufacturing group that processes details with a maximum weight of 13 kg. The details are moved between trolleys and the milling machine center Heckert 4, all work is performed on a height-adjustable floor to give the operator the right conditions for working with the machine. The affected workspace is currently not ergonomically adapted for the operators when ergonomic risks in the form of manual lifting, rotations and bent working positions occur in the daily work. The purpose of this thesis is therefore to improve the workspace of the milling machine center Heckert 4 in such a way that it becomes more ergonomic and risk-free for the operators. The goal of this thesis was to generate a concept for a more ergonomic workspace and to prevent the risk of injuries forthe operators.

    The work began with information being collected in the form of observations and interviews. Through this, a description of the current situation could be established, and a list of needs and requirements was put together. A risk analysis was carried out on the current situation and contributed to additional requirements in the list. Subsequently, ideas were generated for solutions to the problems that were highlighted in the current situation description. These were then combined into concepts that contained solutions for the ergonomic risks that were earlier identified. With a concept screening matrix, the concepts were screened down and assessed against the current situation. The highest ranked concepts were further evaluated in a concept scoring matrix that ultimately resulted in a winning concept. The winning concept was further modeled and improved.

    The resulting concept that is presented to Parker for continued work is concept I+. Concept I+ consists of two movable surfaces located on the height-adjustable floor at each side of Heckert 4. Two counters are located on either side of the floor to ease the work for the operators. One counter is equipped with a tool stand with space for the tool kittingtrays to be used to kit the necessary tools.

    The concept I+ reduces ergonomic risks by allowing the parts to be pushed instead of manual lifting in combination with turning of the torso. As the details can be placed on the benches when the floor is raised, the bending act that the operators previously performed is eliminated. If Parker decides to continue developing this concept, they will have a more risk-free workspace with improved ergonomics and reduced risk of injuries.

    Abstract [en]

    Background: Prediabetes is a condition where the blood sugar levels are higher than normal but below the level that allows the use of diabetes as diagnosis. If not addressed, there is an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes, which increases the risk of cardiovascular disease and premature death. The incidence of type 2 diabetes is increasing rapidly worldwide and is expected to affect 592 million people by 2035. Preventing diabetes is therefore of great importance in reducing diabetes-related costs for both the individual and the society.

    Aim: Specialist nurse´s experiences in caring for patients with prediabetes within primary care

    Method: Qualitative interview study with inductive approach where seven semi-structured interviews were conducted. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed with qualitative content analysis.

    Results: From the analysis seven subcategories and three categories emerged, to identify patients with prediabetes, the specialist nurse role and responsibility and we can do more. The specialist nurses described their caring for patients with prediabetes as an important mission considering the health of the patient but also considering the society and health center perspective. The experiences of the specialist nurses showed that efforts for patients with prediabetes had low priority within primary care. By creating clearer guidelines the specialist nurse's perception was that the care towards patient with prediabetes would be better and more equal. They felt that the knowledge and the instruments already exist, but the resources were missing.

    Conclusion: By creating clearer guidelines on the care of patients with prediabetes the experience of health could be strengthened, and the prevalence of type 2 diabetes could be reduced. More directed control of the primary care towards these patients would give more equal care and set a higher priority for prediabetes within the health center.

    Abstract [en]

    The primary purpose of the thesis is to investigate how social workers working in the social services are preparing for the incorporation of the United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child (Children's Convention) into Swedish law with a focus on the child's participation. The secondary purpose is to investigate how social workers enable children of different ages to be given a voice in child welfare investigations.

    To fulfil the purpose, six social workers in five municipalities were interviewed. The empirical findings were thereafter analyzed on the basis of Shier's pathways to participation, from a developmental psychological perspective as well as previous research.

    The results of the study show that a majority of the interviewed social workers are not involved in the social services' preparatory work ahead of the incorporation of the Children's Convention into Swedish law. All interviewed social workers are positive about the Children's Convention becoming law, but some raised concerns that it may lead to a heavier administrative burden. Most believed that it is mainly other functions within the municipality that will be affected by the Children's Convention becoming law and that it in practice will not change their work to ensure the child's participation in child welfare investigations.

    The results also show that the lack of time and resources makes it difficult for the social workers to find sufficient amount of time to meet with the child during the childcare investigation, and several argue that all social workers do not always feel comfortable talking to children. Another aspect that is highlighted is the parents lack of knowledge about the Children's Convention and of the Social Services Act, resulting in planned support measures not being implemented.

    The psychosocial work environment refers to the social climate in workplaces which affects all employees who interact with each other. The employees' health and satisfaction in their workplace, is the leader's responsibility and how he or she chooses to respond to their employees' needs also affects the results around the work environment. The study was comprised of eight semi structured interviews where teachers were interviewed regarding their experiences on how the leader's traits and skills affect their psychosocial work environment, and how their leaders should act when conflict arises. Traits are defined in this study as something you are born with and skills are defined as something that you learn. The results indicate that participation, clear directives and responsiveness promote good psychosocial work environment according to the teachers, while master suppression techniques and difficulties in receiving criticism counteract it. In conflict situations it is important that the principal can act as a neutral collocutor but still remain as a mainstay to the teachers.

    The purpose of this study was to examine how young men express their mental ill-health and experience of masculine norms in the meeting with staff at the youth centres. The study also examines how the staff working at the youth centres experience the acceptance on this issues that affect young men's mental health and masculinity norms. The study examine that social constructions of masculinity create barriers for young men to express themselves verbally about mental ill-health, which results in alternate forms of expression. These alternative forms of expression are presented in this study such as self-medication, anxiety feelings, and exuberant actions. The study shows how masculine norms create penalties for how young men generally seek care later and then also generally feel inferior, which indicates the gender difference between young women and young men. The study results in knowledge about the problem for young men to express themselves verbally about feelings linked to masculine norms. The method used in this study is semi-structured interviews with informants in terms of staff among Swedish youth centres and Swedish centre for young men. Social constructivism and role theory have been used as a theoretical frame of reference to explain phenomena in our society that are considered natural and which in effect have different socialization processors for the creation of male norms (Wenneberg, 2000). The study findings draw attention to the complex problem of mental ill-health among young men, its consequences and which gaps of knowledge that needs to be filled.

    Abstract [en]

    Previous research has demonstrated correlations between values and religiosity in the aspect of propensity to believe. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the research in moral vitalism, which includes an approach to good and evil forces.

    The participants in the study were 122 individuals; the age range was 18 – 68 of which 84 women, 37 men, and one who identified themselves as other. They filled in the Portrait Value Questionnaire to measure values and the newly developed questionnaire Moral Vitalism Scale for the measurement of moral vitalism. Data was analyzed using Pearson's correlation (r), multiple linear regression, and independent t-test. The study shows a positive correlation between moral vitalism and the value safety. A negative correlation is shown between moral vitalism and the value achievement.

    The result indicates that individuals who value achievement have lower propensity to believe in moral vitalism, unlike individuals who generally cherish stability, which show higher propensity to believe in moral vitalism. No differences were found in how a person's individual values affect the degree of moral vitalism. No gender differences in moral vitalism were detected in the study.

    Abstract [en]

    The present study has the qualitative research with the output of systems theory aimed to identify the individual abuser path to addiction treatment. Three semi-structured interviews have been conducted and subsequently analyzed.

    Addicts constitute a special category in the Social Services Act. In addition, it is to be found in the section of the law Chapter 3, 1 § (SFS 2001: 453) that the social outreach should make themselves familiar with the living conditions in the municipality. In addition, also provide information on social services in the municipality and through outreach activities and other means to promote conditions for good living conditions.

    Results have demonstrated that it is primarily the abuser's family members who support them to contact applicants as current treatment. The study has also revealed that although the addict in the first place not turned to social services, but turned to other instances.

    Respondents in the study all had individual agendas as applicable achieved abstinence. What, however, seemed significant among the participants has been a quest for better relationships with their family.

    Another of the study's conclusions is that social services should expand its dissemination of information to local residents about drug treatment are available and how the aid is designed.

    Background: According to the World Health Organization, stress is a threat to global health, where there is an increase in healthcare personnel. Previous studies show that the nurses in the emergency room are extra vulnerable. Internationally, major challenges in modern emergency department are seen as a result of overcrowding and extended stay times.

    Aim: The purpose was to examine the nurse's experiences of stress in work at the emergency department.

    Method: A qualitative literature study was selected to describe nurses' experiences of stress following traumatic events in emergency department. Qualitative studies increase the understanding of the individual's experiences and needs, and how this affects the individual's health.

    Results: The result shows that stress at the emergency department is a common problem. Complex care situations, high workload, lack of experience and conflicts in the working group were factors that lead to stress. Effects on physical and emotional health also emerged. Stress can affect the nurse and the quality of care.

    Conclusion: The nurse at the emergency department is often exposed in a work environment where stress is common. Therefore, it is important for the nurse to receive support from work management and colleagues in order to be able to handle situations that may lead to impaired patient safety as well as the health of the nurse.

    Äldreomsorgens nationella värdegrund - ett vägledningsmaterial” gavs ut 2012 av Socialstyrelsen i syfte att implementera en gemensam värdegrund i verksamheterna så att äldreomsorgen ska kunna bidra till att äldre känner välbefinnande och ett värdigt liv. Denna studie redogör för etiska dilemman och målkonflikter som undersköterskor uppgett att de ställts inför i det dagliga arbetet på demensboenden, samt en redogörelse för vilka värdeord som ges mer prioritet än andra. Detta har undersökts genom kvalitativa, semistrukturerade intervjuer med fem undersköterskor. Intervjuerna har bearbetats med hjälp av tematisk analys samt tolkats i förhållande till tidigare forskning, det salutogena synsättet och KASAM, med begreppen begriplighet, hanterbarhet, meningsfullhet och makt. I vår studie fann vi etiska dilemman förknippade både med kollegor, anhöriga och brukare. Även bristande resurser kunde begränsa måluppfyllelsen och kvaliteten på omsorgen. Av de värdeord i värdegrunden som vi har fokuserat på så stod de vanligaste målkonflikterna mellan självbestämmandet och den fysiska tryggheten eller mellan självbestämmandet och den personliga integriteten. Målkonflikterna uppstod främst när brukaren vägrar vård, exempelvis när denne inte vill ha hjälp med ADL1 eller ta sina mediciner. Resultatet visar även på att informanterna värderar självbestämmandet högt och i särskilda fall kan de använda någon form av skyddsåtgärd eller annan tvingande åtgärd för att bevara brukarens hälsa. Dock så är det ingen av informanterna som kan tänka sig att tvinga eller lura i sin brukare mediciner. En värdefull aspekt som framkommer i studien är de förebyggande åtgärder och arbetssätt som undersköterskorna tar till för att “få brukarna med sig” så att brukarna tar rationella beslut, och därmed undviks målkonflikter.

    Bakgrund: Vistelsen i utemiljön är en stor del av förskolans pedagogiska verksamhet och är ett självklart inslag i den dagliga verksamheten. Flertalet forskare belyser vikten av undervisning i utemiljön för barns kognitiva, motoriska, emotionella och sociala utveckling eftersom utemiljön skapar förutsättningar för barnen att interagera alla sina sinnen och hela sin kropp i ett lärande. I utemiljön väcks en nyfikenhet hos barnen till att utforska och undersöka. Barnen får möjlighet att samspela, ställa och prova hypoteser, lösa problem och konflikter men framförallt reflektera och återhämta sig vilket bidrar till att barnen befäster sina teoretiska kunskaper i praktiska handlingar. Det sociala samspelet, den motoriska, kognitiva och emotionella utvecklingen gynnas av utomhusundervisning särskilt om pedagogen använder utemiljön på ett medvetet sätt och har en medvetenhet om vilket lärande som kan ske och utmanar barnen i meningsfulla sammanhang. Upplevelsen i utemiljön och den egna kroppen lyfts fram som material för att konkretisera, skapa förståelse och knyta an teoretisk kunskap med praktiskt görande vilket befäster lärandet och skapar goda förutsättningar för ett fortsatt lärande senare i livet. Vi vill med detta arbete skapa diskussioner utifrån olika uppfattningar och synliggöra en nyanserad bild av utemiljöns betydelse samt lyfta olika beskrivningar till hur utemiljön kan användas för att utmana barnen. Studien är viktig att bidra till ökad förståelse och nytt tänkande kring utemiljön som lärmiljö, eftersom utevistelsen är en stor del av den dagliga verksamheten på förskolan.

    Syfte: Studiens syfte är att undersöka pedagogernas syn på användningen av utemiljön som en del av den pedagogiska verksamheten.

    Metod: Det är en kvalitativ studie där vi använt oss av semistrukturerade intervjuer av sammanlagt tio pedagoger på fem olika förskolor som arbetar på olika avdelningar med barn i olika åldrar.

    Resultat: Resultatet visar att pedagoger tillskriver utemiljön stor betydelse för barnens språk motoriska, emotionella och sociala utveckling. Utemiljön används för att skapa variation i förhållande till inomhusmiljön där materialet och platsen tillskrivs en betydelse men även lek, upplevelser och praktiska handlingar för att främja interaktioner, sociala samspel och utforskande. Utifrån det skapar pedagogerna samtalsämnen samt ger barnen möjlighet att tänka och resonera i syfte till att bidra till barnens olika utvecklingsområden, lärande och handlingskompetens.

    Background: Sexual health is an important aspect of people's general experience of health and wellbeing. Conversations about sexual health and sexuality are included in nurses overall nursing responsibilities and can be linked to several areas of competence within nursing. Nurses has a key role in identifying and addressing illness and problems related to sexual health. Despite this, patients express lack of information and dialogues with nurses about sexual health and sexuality. In order to contribute to a good and satisfactory nursing from a holistic perspective and promote patients' health and well-being, it is necessary that nurses include conversations about sexual health and sexuality in their professional practice.

    Aim: The aim of this literature review was to examine nurses' experiences of conversations about sexual health and sexuality with adult patients.Method: The literature review withheld 12 scientific articles of both a qualitative and quantitative approach. The articles underwent a quality review and analysis. Articles have been systematically searched in the databases Cinahl and PubMed/Medline.

    Results: Nurses experiences of conversations about sexual health and sexuality with adult patients are presented under three categories: "Difficult to talk about sexual health and sexuality", "Unfavourable working environment" and "Clear priorities".

    Conclusion: Sexual health and sexuality are topics that many nurses find difficult to raise during conversations with patients. It is necessary for nurses to be self-aware and reflect on their own norms, attitudes and beliefs linked to patients' sexual health and sexuality. Nurses needs additional understanding, of their professional responsibility and knowledge of sexual health, to promote a person-centred care. Furthermore, it is essential that nurses are providedwith conditions such as time, private spaces, and written guidelines/routines in their working environment.

    Background: Fibromyalgia is a chronic disease that is difficult to treat and diagnose. The illness is of unknown etiology. The majority of the ill is women. Aim: The aim of this study was to describe women ́s experiences of living with long term pain associated with fibromyalgia. Method: A literature -based study was performed. The database Cinahl was used in the search process. This study includes 11 qualitative articles that have been analysed by a review template. The analysis resulted in two categories "experiences of a changed me" and "experiences of social life" with six subcategories. Results: The consequences of fibromyalgia were that the family life, spare time, social life and working life changed in different ways. The articles also showed that women with fibromyalgia did not receive the understanding they needed from their families or the environment. Conclusion: Women with fibromyalgia feel that they do not get understanding from the outside world. It is important that health care professionals understand and acknowledge these individuals' subjective experiences so that they can give professional care and support.

    Within organizations, HR departments work to attract future employees. Another area of work for HR is to promote the origanization’s so-called Employer Branding, a concept that relates to how organizations, as a kind of brand, are seen and perceived by other parties, both potential employees and other organizations. Knowledge about what motivates HR personnel as a professional group, and as potential new employees, and what this professional group considers to be an “attractive” employer needs to be supplemented. The purpose of this study was therefore to gain an increased understanding of what HR personnel’s thoughts, as a professional group, were about what makes an employer perceived as attractive, specifically regarding the areas of motivation and learning at work. Interviews were conducted with eight individuals who, in various forms, work with and have experience from the personnel profession. According to the results, factors such as flexibility, career opportunities, financial compensation and learning contribute to an employer being considered attractive. The results also show that these factors seem to motivate HR personnel. Through interviews, the above factors could be identified regarding what HR personnel considers to be an attractive employer and what motivational factors HR personnel has at work.

    Syftet med denna studie är att med hjälp av modeller om medborgarskap undersöka blivande gymnasielärares syn på medborgarskap och politiskt deltagande i förhållande till sig själva och deras framtida elever. Studien berör blivande lärares föreställningar kring fyra områden; politiskt deltagande, medborgarskap, kontroversiella ämnen och politisk aktivism samt undersöker förväntningarna som de har på elever utifrån dessa fyra huvudpunkter.

    Materialet har samlats in genom kvalitativa samtalsintervjuer med fyra stycken blivande gymnasielärare utifrån en semistrukturerad modell. De har därefter analyserats med hjälp av olika kärnfrågor och de fyra områden – som presenterats ovan – med ursprung från Isin & Turners modeller för medborgarskap. Kärnfrågor i detta fall är de frågor i intervjuguiden (Se Bilaga 2) som baserats på de frågeställningar som studien bygger på. Svaren har sammanfattats och presenterats i en tabell där varje respondents svar har jämförts med varandra för att synliggöra återkommande mönster och föreställningar.

    Resultatet visar både likheter och skillnader mellan respondenternas och utifrån detta identifieras en idealtyp för hur medborgaren bör se ut baserat på återkommande gemensamma föreställningar. Svaren jämförs även med Isin & Turners (2002) liberal och deras republikanska modell. Svaren kan inte sammankopplas helt till varken liberal eller republikansk modell utan hamnar i ett mellanläge.

    Syftet med arbetet är att undersöka några yrkesverksamma högstadielärares föreställningar om och inställning till läroplanens uppdrag att introducera litteratur från övriga världen samt vilka bakomliggande faktorer som kan ha en påverkan på detta. Svaren analyseras även utifrån en postkolonial teori samt teorier om eurocentrism. Materialet har samlats in med hjälp av semistrukturerade samtalsintervjuer med fyra yrkesverksamma svensklärare på högstadienivå. Därefter har de analyserats utifrån en tabell som byggt på frågor baserat på de fyra följande kategorierna: bakgrund, litteraturundervisningens roll, övriga världen: föreställningar; övriga världen: didaktiskt. Svaren har därefter sammanfattats och jämförts med varandra samt utifrån postkolonial teori. Resultatet visar på att lärarna har en uppfattning av att övriga världen inte enbart syftar på Europa och USA utan eftersträvar en större bredd. Några av respondenterna uttrycker även att de skulle behöva förbättra sitt arbete vad gäller litteratur från övriga världen men att det kräver tid och kunskap. Flera av dem uttrycker att deras förkunskaper kring ämnet behöver utvecklas och att detta kan ha att göra med att de själva präglats av en undervisning som förespråkar en västerländsk kanon. Föreställningarna om arbetet med litteratur från övriga världen går ofta hand i hand med att skapa förståelse och uppdraget att fostra medborgare men blir problematisk om urvalet är eurocentriskt.
