    Syftet med studien var att undersöka äldre människors föreställningar om respektive förhållningssätt till dagens digitala samhälle med fokus på Smartphone. Studien genomfördes med en kvalitativ metod. Intervjuer genomfördes med sex deltagare utifrån den intervjuguide som skapats. För att analyser intervjuerna användes tematisk analys som ledde fram till kodord och senare bildade teman. Den insamlade empirin visade att äldre människor förhåller sig till dagens digitalisering på olika sätt, både positiva och negativa förhållningssätt. Det finns ett behov av vidare forskning inom området som är i ständig förändring.

    Syftet med studien var att undersöka mammors berättelser om sin upplevda relation till sina barn under och efter tiden de var våldsutsatta, samt hur de upplever stödet de fått genom en gruppverksamhet riktat till barn och föräldrar som varit utsatta för våld i nära relation. Studien bygger på en kvalitativ metod där semistrukturerade intervjuer genomförts med fyra mammor som tillsammans med sina barn varit utsatta för våld i nära relation. Materialet har analyserats genom en tematisk metod. Materialet har således organiserats och strukturerats utifrån teman som gemensamt framträtt i intervjuerna. Analysen av studiens resultat mynnade ut i nio teman; att kontrollera situationen, att känna frihet i det låsta, symtom, att komma varandra närmre när bubblan spricker, ett annat perspektiv på det viktiga i vardagen, maktlöshet, i skuggan av våldet, en hjälpande hand och tid. Sammanfattningsvis tyder resultatet på att mammorna är kreativa och resursfulla för att skydda sina barn. De har en önskan om att uppnå ett bra eller perfekt föräldraskap. Mammorna vill inte ses som misslyckade mammor. Barnens behov behöver alltid finnas i centrum. Hur goda intentioner mammorna än har medför det trots allt negativa konsekvenser för barnen både under tiden våldet pågår och efter separation från våldsutövaren. Mammorna tolkas uppvisa en medvetenhet för hur våldet har påverkat på olika sätt, vilket är en förutsättning för att senare kunna tillgodogöra sig stödinsatser. Att få möjlighet att bearbeta och berätta om sina upplevelser tillsammans med personer som befunnit sig i en liknande situation tycks i slutändan vara helande för barnens utveckling på många olika sätt. En del barn uppvisade dock reaktioner under tiden stödet mottogs, vilket skulle kunna vara en del av den bearbetningsprocess som startar i samband med mottagandet av stöd och återupplivade minnen.

    Jämställdhet, islam och framtidsdrömmar: en intervjustudie om muslimska gymnasieflickor2007Report (Other academic)

    Ofta hörs kritiska röster kring islam som en kvinnoförtryckande religion, ibland till och med som en religion som vill föra oss tillbaka till ett förgånget samhälle. Samtidigt finns muslimska kvinnor som menar att det är just deras tro som stärkt dem som kvinnor och som människor. Underlaget till denna rapport är unga muslimska flickors berättelser om sina liv i Sverige. Skola, fritid och framtid står i fokus i våra samtal, men i vårt möte med flickorna återges olika livssituationer, drömmar och tankar. I första kapitlet presenterar vi vår studie och vårt tillvägagångssätt. Vi har gjort kvalitativa intervjuer och använder oss av ett intersektionellt perspektiv på religion och kön. I kapitel två visar vi en komplex bild av olika värderingar, hållningar och förklaringsmönster. I detta kapitel har vi låtit flickorna själva träda fram i texten genom ganska långa citat och ge sin syn på livet som muslimsk flicka. På så sätt träder nyanser fram i materialet och bäddar för en djupare förståelse för olika sätt att leva som muslim i Sverige. I del tre diskuterar vi hur flickorna förhåller sig till religion i ett vidare perspektiv. I vår studie blir tre olika muslimska diskurser - en global, en kulturell och en sekulär – synliga.

    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of the study is to identify causes among people with a long-term reception of support support and to gain knowledge about whether working methods at a labor market unit are designed in conjunction with the causes that arise. There are different definitions of what a long-term receipt of economic support is, in this study, a long-term recipient is considered to be the one who has been active in economic support for ten months or more. This is in accordance with the provisions of Socialstyrelsen (2014). The study focuses on one mediumsized municipality in Sweden that is considered representative to the purpose of the study. The study has used a mixture of a quantitative and qualitative method. With the quantitative method, data-material has been obtained at the beginning of March 2018 from a documentation system by name Procapita which contained 198 clients based on age, sex and causes of clients with a long-term receipt. The data-material has been converted and compiled into different charts on Excel statistics program. The results of the charts show seven causes amongst these clients. Unemployment and sick clients with a medical certificate or medical opinion were the most common causes. Then there were the sick without a basis, meaning that they were only sick at present with neither a medical certificate nor a medical opinion, then came drug abusers, various causes that included full-time work, summer jobs, unaccompanied minors and those who were guilty or imprisoned. The last cause for a long-term reception was job seekers. In connection with the qualitative method, a semi-structured interview was conducted with a social worker from the municipality. Before the interview was conducted, a plan was made on how the questions would be formulated to generate knowledge to the purpose of the study. The interview was recorded and transferred from speech to writing. The result of the interview was that working methods were adapted to the individual's needs at present. By presenting causes that have emerged in the study, focus has then been placed on whether these interact with working methods. The result shows that working methods are not designed for a cause per se, instead there are several explanations for why a cause has become and it is after those explanations and after the individuals needs at present and what the individual person thinks is important in how social workers design their working methods.

    Under 2015 drabbade Sverige av en migrationskris, även kallad den syriska flyktingvågen. 160 000 syriska migranter ansökte om asyl under samma år. Syftet med denna uppsats, är att undersöka vuxna syriers upplevelser som har flytt sitt hemland på grund av inbördeskriget, där de har migrerat till Sverige. Studien har gjorts med hjälp av fem deltagande respondenter, som är födda, uppväxta och var bosatta i Syrien, men som har migrerats till Sverige sedan kriget utlöstes under mars 2011. Tre av respondenterna är kvinnor och två är män. Studien valdes att göras genom en kvalitativ ansats, där en semistrukturerad intervju användes för att få bättre förståelse för respondenternas åsikter samt för att få svar på forskningsfrågorna. Resultatet visar att syriska migranters åsikter av delaktighetsbegreppet förknippas med begreppen gemenskap, trygghet och acceptans. Studien utvisar på de vanliga utmaningarna med att migrera till ett nytt land, som att lära sig det nya språket, människor, arbete, den nya samhällets kultur, lagar och regler. Det även visar att syriska migranter blir segregerade från restenav samhället och känner sig i utanförskap i stället att vara delaktiga i det nya samhället. Studien uppvisar också att varje enskild syrisk migrant har en skyldighet att ta ansvar och utvecklas och försöka sitt bästa med att förhålla sig till den svenska samhället.

    Abstract [en]

    We have written a qualitative study with a phenomenological and a hermeneutical approach. We have collected data using semi-structured interviews. The basis of the study's theoretical framework is based on May's and Marcuse's explanation of art and creativity as a general human, meaningful and transcendent practice. We interviewed staff at three non-therapeutic institutions for women suffering from domestic violence, psychiatric vulnerable people and homeless women. The study aims to investigate how staff defines art and creativity, the risk and opportunities creative activities means for users and about the activities enables empowerment for users. We also examined the social consequences of art and creativity, for both users and staff. The study results and analysis show that art and creativity gives the users a range of possibilities. Art and creativity provides opportunities for fellowship, knowledge and acknowledgment, a break from the outside world, processing and to some extent empowerment. The social policy implications of art and creativity are that they liberate the institutions from hierarchies. The institutions offer users worthy and equal protection zones, were the staff, in turn, can put down repressive power, rules and rigid roles. By contrast, the art and creativity don’t lead to social change for the target groups in question outside the institutions.

    Abstract [en]

    Participation is a common concept, which is used in social pedagogy to study human relations. However, there are many dimensions of participation and the concept can be both a subjective and objective meaning. According to the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), all children should have the right to go to school. Additionally, the CRC points out that the school should create participation for the children. To feel involved can thus be regarded as a human right, but how participated does the pupils experience themselves?

    This study aimed to study and analyze how pupils' participation is emphasized in the school environment from a pupils' perspective, both in class with teachers and outside of the classroom among the pupils themselves. The study has been conducted in a municipal Namibian school using participant observation, semi-structured interviews and a micro ethnographic methodological approach.

    The results of the study are consistent to some extent with previous research. Pupils experience very social and informal participation among each other, but the school fails to create relational pedagogy and participation in the classroom. The lack of influence is affecting the pupils study motivation, which in turn is perceived as bad study performance by the teachers and they therefore get punished. Unlike the results of previous research, this study shows that socio-economic status does not affect pupil performance. This probably has to do with the fact that the school compensates pupils with lower socio-economic status by providing affordable accommodation, free food and school uniforms. The results of this study can be used to conduct similar research.

    School and its significant role is a common subject in the early discussion of the social pedagogy field, and are still topical. International and national policies states that the school environment should be including and that the student welfare service is supposed to work preventative and conduce participation for all pupils in school related circumstances. Pupils with neuropsychiatric diversities tend to be neglected in the school context, which is the main reason for the selection of this issue.

    The aim of this study is to examine how staff within the student welfare service perceives circumstances regarding participation amongst pupils with neuropsychiatric diversities.

    With inspiration from the hermeneutic and phenomenological theory of science, a qualitative method has been used to corral information. The data is processed with an abductive technique, based on seven semi structured interviews with staff working in the student welfare services.

    The result is presented with a sociocultural view of understanding and the participation conception is applied to describe the situation. Inclusive communions appear to be a complex phenomenon and the conclusion emphasizes several vital aspects concerning conditions of participation such as individual circumstances, pupil interaction, teacher’s approaches and collaboration between professions. Beneficial variables are the project of working with basic values, that pupils and teachers have good relationships and coaction in regard of school based professions and with external community actors. Knowledge deficiency and limitations in the room for manoeuvre are considered to be preventing.

    Studien har studerat hur skolor uppmärksammar och identifierar barn som leveri ekonomisk utsatthet och hur skolan arbetar och hanterar de utmaningar som följer utav det. Totalt 5 representanter från elevhälsan deltog, 4 kuratorer och 1 skolsköterska. Skolorna de representerar är belägna i 3 olika kommuner som bär på olika socioekonomiska variationer. Studien innehar en kvalitativ design som bygger på semistrukturerade intervjuer. Den teoretiska ansatsen grundar sig i Goffmans teorier om stigma. En central del av studien ses även utifrån begreppen normer och skam. Resultaten i studien har visat att skolor upplever ekonomisk utsatthet som ett komplext ämne och där en elev i ekonomiskt utsatthet ofta har fler problem, som i relation till ekonomisk utsatthet delges ett större utrymme. Resultatet visar både på svårigheter i att upptäcka och identifiera barn som är ekonomiskt utsatta, samt svårigheter för skolpersonal att bemöta barn och deras vårdnadshavare vid en sådan situation. Studiens slutsatser visar att ekonomisk utsatthet är ett ämne som behöver ta mer plats i skolan och att ökade kunskaper kan bidra till att underlätta för skolan att upptäcka och bemöta problematiken, vilket i sin tur främjar barns välmående.

    Abstract [en]

    Background: To obtain reliable statics over the number of undocumented migrants is very difficult, precisely because they are undocumented and live in hiding. The estimated number of undocumented migrants in Sweden is between 10,000 to 50,000, which is a large group of people who live under very difficult living conditions. It is this group that the essay will shed the light on, based on the work of voluntary organizations.

    Objective: The aim of the study is to examine the work of voluntary organizations' participation promotion work to support undocumented people.

    Method: I have used a qualitative research method, in the form of semi-structured interviews. Four employees of a voluntary organization were interviewed. The interviews used the same interview guide, with room for supplementary questions. The theoretical approach has been the KASAM, and the concepts of participation and social support. I have categorized, coded, thematised and analyzed the data collected on the basis of my theoretical perspective as well as the previous research.

    Results: The results demonstrate that the organization works extensively with creating security for the undocumented migrants. Partly by that the undocumented migrants should feel that the organization's premises are a safe place for them, but also by allowing as much of the business to be predictable. They also offer practical support to the undocumented, in the form of clothes and food, but also access to health care. This demonstrates by cooperation with other organizations, but also by other people, who choose to contribute. The organization also tries to create a social context for the undocumented, and press the importance that all people feel good to be part of a context. Participation is something they work with on a daily basis, in many different ways, including getting them to participate in all activities and have the opportunity to be volunteers.

    Abstract [en]

    Individuals who are going back to work after long-term sick leave experience that health promoting communication is an important and vital factor in the process. The study that has been conducted is a case study where the purpose was to investigate how labor market consultants and work supervisors work with health-promoting communication to get those on long-term sick leave to return to work. In order to answer the question of the study that emerged from the purpose, the salutogenic theory together with previous research has been applied. A qualitative method has been applied by interviewing 12 employees within the central Swedish municipality and the collected material was analyzed through a thematic analysis. The analysis revealed three themes based on the data collection, different communication styles, individualized communication and conversation methods. The results show that the labor market consultants and the supervisors apply the majority of approaches in communication to increase participation for those on long-term sick leave. To increase participation, they apply a health-promoting communication primarily by engaging, supporting and guiding the participants by responding to each individual based on their specific situation. The subject is previously relatively unexplored and thus it is of interest to investigate this further in future studies.

    Syftet med studien är att se om och i sådana fall hur 10§ kap5 SoL har påverkat stödet för anhöriga till människor med missbruksproblematik samt att se hur samverkan mellan organisationer används för att underlätta för de anhöriga. I och med att dessa anhöriga är en tyst målgrupp krävs det samverkan för att nå dem då alla inte är i kontakt med socialtjänst eller andra myndigheter.

     Fem kvalitativa halvstrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med sex personer som arbetar med anhörigstöd på olika sätt. Materialet transkriberades och analyserades sedan genom analysmodellen grounded theory genom att jag hittade olika kategorier delvis utifrån vad informanterna sade och delvis utifrån studiens syfte, efter det hittade jag underkategorier.

    Resultatet analyserades med stöd utav samverkansteori och implementeringsteori, och visar att så länge samverkan används för den anhöriges bästa fungerar den bra då stödet blir individuellt anpassat efter dennes behov. Det är inte många utav informanterna som har kunnat uttala sig om någon nackdel med samverkan. Flera av informanterna har inte påverkats av lagen fast alla arbetar med anhörigstöd. Den skillnaden som kan ses är att vissa kommuner skapat en ny tjänst efter att lagen kom, men det visar ändå att implementeringen inte har lyckats helt. Resultaten visar också att det kan finnas ett samband mellan samverkan och implementering, för om fler professioner s vet om lagen desto bättre går samverkan mellan verksamheterna, då alla vet vad lagen innebär och kan samverka utifrån den.

    Projektet ” Socialtjänstens beslutsfattande i myndighetsutövning” handlar ytterst om att studera beslutsfattandet i myndighetsutövning vilket präglas av hög grad av komplexitet. Det finns enligt forskning svårigheter med att teoretiskt fånga beslutsfattande processer med stöd av rationella eller byråkratiska modeller då erfarenhet och känsla många gånger är drivande i det sociala arbetets beslutsfattande. Syftet med studien att undersöka socialsekreterares erfarenheter av och förståelsen för intuitivt och analytiskt präglat beslutsfattande inom den myndighetsutövande praktiken inom vuxenenheten, försörjningsstöd och familjestöd (barn och ungdomsgrupps, familjerätt och familjehem). Teoretiskt och analytiskt har vi utgått en psykologisk modell för beslutsfattande som bygger på dubbla processer av intuition och analys. Resultaten som presenteras är tentativa och vi välkomnar input på de tolkningar vi gjort (work in progress).

    Background: Camera surveillance and safety is commonly a topic when talking about crime reduction, camera surveillance has a decreasing effect on crime, therefore increases the feelings of safety for society and those who live there.

    Theoretical perspective: CPTED is a theory based on the fact that the environment and society can be manipulated using different strategies and concepts, as for example surveillance, access control and territorial reinforcement, both as mechanical, organized and natural. This is to increase safety and security to create a higher quality of life and profitability.

    Material and method: To study the relation between the attitude on increased camera surveillance and the experience of Gothenburg as a safe and secure city, the SOM survey from 2020 was used. The participants were randomly selected and were in the ages 16-85. A total of 1613 participants responded to the survey, which was a total of 43 percent. The survey was sent out in two rounds, the two variables that are the focus of the present paper were only found in sub-survey 2. To study this relation, a multiple regression analysis with 5000 boost rap repeats was performed.

    Results: The association between the opinion on increased camera surveillance and the experience of Gothenburg as a safe and secure city showed a weak negative significant correlation and when checking for the background variables age, income and growing up in Sweden, the correlation remained significant.Conclusion: Those who considered Gothenburg a safe and secure city had a negative attitude towards increased camera surveillance, this means that those who perceived Gothenburg as an unsafe and insecure city had a positive attitude towards increased camera surveillance.

    Syftet med studien var att undersöka alkoholmissbrukets betydelse för arbetet med vårdtagares möjligheter till delaktighet samt vilket bemötande hemtjänstpersonalen har mot vårdtagare med alkoholmissbruk. Frågeställningarna var; hur skiljde sig arbetet med delaktighet, enligt hemtjänstpersonal, mellan vårdtagare med alkoholmissbruk och vårdtagare utan alkoholmissbruk? Hur såg möjligheter till delaktighet ut för alkoholmissbrukande vårdtagare inom hemtjänsten, enligt hemtjänstpersonal? Hur såg, enligt hemtjänstpersonal, bemötandet ut till vårdtagare med alkoholmissbruk i förhållande till de vårdtagarna utan alkoholmissbruk?

    Den teoretiska utgångspunkten var teorier kring delaktighet och bemötande. Exempel på teorier kring delaktighet är att en individ måste själv uppleva sig som delaktig för att vara delaktig. Delaktighet handlar om ett samspel mellan individ och omgivning. Bemötande definieras bland annat som något som sker i en relation och i mötet mellan människor.

    Det empiriska materialet består av fem intervjuer med undersköterskor som arbetar inom hemtjänst. Bearbetningen av datamaterialet gjordes genom kategorisering, kodning och tematisering som sedan analyserades. Slutsatserna är att vårdtagarna har bra möjligheter till att vara delaktiga med vissa begränsningar beroende av alkoholmissbruk. Alla informanter vill att alla vårdtagare ska behandlas lika, trots detta framkommer skillnader i både arbetet med delaktighet och bemötande till vårdtagare utan alkoholmissbruks fördel. En annan slutsats är att hemtjänstpersonal saknar kunskap för att på ett professionellt sätt arbeta med vårdtagare med alkoholmissbruk.

    This study deals with violence in same-sex relationships. With heteronormativity as a theoretical starting point, the purpose of the study has been to understand, through qualitative interviews with social workers, that violence as selfidentifying women can spread in their close same-sex relationships, as well as to investigate how the social work around these matters is conducted. Through qualitative, semi-structured interviews, five social workers have participated in interviews to answer our questions. These social workers are women from variousparts of the country with experience of social work in different organizations. The qualitative approach has provided an insight into the social workers' experiences, giving the study a deep and personal perspective on the subject. When analyzing the empirical data, the study has been based on a thematic analysis, where the study's results are broken down into parts that further highlighted women’s exposure to violence in their close same-sex relationship and described how the social work around these cases is conducted. The theoretical starting point that is central to the study is heteronormativity/heterosexism, terms coined from queer theory. The results of the study showed that social work is not conducted differently when the cases concern violence in close same-sex relationships between women. Instead, the social workers see these women exposed to violence as individuals and the needs for support that are relevant. The most common violence is psychological, and there are difficulties in getting the right help and support. Some of this is based on heteronormativity, which is a challenge for social workers. Effective support is the processing of violence in the form of discussions and personal time. The discussion revealed that violence in same-sex relationships is a topic that needs more attention. The idea that only men beat women creates limitations in seeking help and thus increases the number of women who are victims of violence in their same-sex relationships.

    De senaste åren har det uppmärksammats att psykisk ohälsa bland barn och ungdomar har ökat. Det är viktigt att barn och ungdomar med psykisk ohälsa får hjälp och stöd i ett tidigt skede, det kan annars få allvarliga konsekvenser. Skolan och elevhälsan har en viktig roll förelever och deras utveckling, de har även i uppdrag att stödja elever med psykisk ohälsa och att arbeta förebyggande. Tidigare forskning visar på att ungdomar väljer att inte vända sig till elevhälsan eller andra professionella vid psykisk ohälsa. Det har även visat sig i tidigare forskning att det finns bristfällig kunskap gällande elevernas egna syn på elevhälsan. Vi ville med denna studie öka kunskapen kring elever och deras syn på elevhälsan som arbetar på skolan, samt vad de önskar att den ska finnas till för och på vilket sätt. Huvudsyftet var att få kunskap om hur en elevhälsa är främjande för elever och för att få reda på det måste elevernas egna syn och önskemål stå i fokus. För att undersöka detta användes i studien en kvantitativ ansats med enkätundersökning som metod. Deltagarna i studien bestod av 126 elever i årskurs 9 från två olika skolor i Västra Götalands län. Studiens resultat visade på att majoriteten av eleverna i årskurs 9 var medvetna om att elevhälsan fanns. Däremot var det ett stort antal av eleverna som endast var svagt bekanta med elevhälsan då de endast visste lite om deras arbete och vilka som ingick i elevhälsan. Eleverna skulle främst vända sig till sina informella kontakter som föräldrar och vänner vid negativa känslor. Majoriteten av eleverna uppgav att de inte skulle vända sig till någon professionell vid negativa känslor. Många av eleverna uppgav att de tyckte att det var viktigt att elevhälsan fanns för att kunna prata med någon. Procentuellt tyckte de flesta av eleverna att elevhälsan skulle finnas till för att prata om jobbiga händelser i deras liv. Eleverna önskade främst ta kontakt med elevhälsan genom att gå dit. Många av eleverna hade någon gång undvikit att ta kontakt med elevhälsan fast de egentligen känt ett behov.

    Ungdomskriminalitet är ett allvarligt samhällsproblem som har blivit alltmer synligt och uppmärksammat på senare tid. Detta ställer krav på samverkan mellan olika viktiga samhällsaktörer för att arbeta förebyggande. Syftet med följande studie är att undersöka sociala insatsgruppers samverkansfördelar och olika former av förebyggande arbete för att motverka kriminalitet bland unga utifrån socialarbetares perspektiv. Studiens teoretiska ramverk grundar sig i teorin om samverkansfördelar och sex motiv för samverkan som återfinns i teorin om samverkansfördelar. Vidare användes tre preventionsstadier primär, sekundär och teritär prevention samt fyra brottspreventionsmodeller, strukturförändringsmodellen, socialisationsmodellen, effektivisering av institutioner samt kontrollmodellen. Studien utgår ifrån en kvalitativ forskningsdesign, där fem semistrukturerade intervjuer genomförts med socialarbetare inom sociala insatsgrupper från olika delar av landet. Det insamlade materialet analyserades med hjälp av tematisk analys. Resultatet visar att en viktig utgångspunkt för att uppnå samverkansfördelar är att ha en fungerande samverkan där samverkansaktörerna arbetar mot ett gemensamt mål, visar ömsesidig förståelse för varandras uppdrag och kunskap. I detta ryms också att ha en tydlig ansvarsfördelning. Resultatet visar att man i förebyggande arbete för att motverka ungdomskriminalitet, kan samverka utifrån flera motiv som återfinns i teorin om samverkansfördelar. Detta handlar huvudsakligen om att man samverkar för att man inte kan uppnå önskade resultat och mål på egen hand. Vidare visar resultatet att det förebyggande arbetet inom SIG utgår främst från individnivå, där insatser anpassas utefter individens behov. Detta kopplas till den primära och sekundära preventionen där insatser riktar sig till enskilda individer och grupper. Resultatet visar också att det behövs en tidig upptäckt av riskfaktorer hos barn och unga för att förebyggande arbete ska ge effekt. Vidare visar resultatet att skolan är en skyddsfaktor för barn och unga och att det behöver läggas mer resurser till skolan för att kunna fånga dessa ungdomar i tid.

    Although the therapeutic effect of the alliance between the social worker and the client is widely recognized, the knowledge on what actually constitutes a successful alliance is limited. The factors at stake are mostly referred to as common factors and include the ability of the social worker to be warm, personal, caring and devoted towards the client. With a bidirectional perspective on the construct of agency Ester Goh (2015) among others has shown that the relationship between the social worker and the client could be regarded as a resource for therapeutic success that enable the client to bean active agent in the process in his or her process of change. The aim of this study is to increase the understanding of what resources a successful relationship between a socialworker and a young client carries in the respect of enabling agentic behavior in the young client. Method In a collaboration with a drug prevention program in the municipality of Ale in the south-western part of Sweden, young clients in the age between 14 and 18 will be interviewed together with their social worker regarding their mutual relationship. Rather than addressing the social issues, the interview will focus on the relationship as such in search for the narratives of the nature of their relationship. Each paired interview will be followed up by individual interviews with the social worker and the young client respectively. Expected results The study is expected to expand the knowledge on how social workers establish functional relationship with young clients, relationships that in turn represents an important resource for the voice of the young client in his or her own process of change.

    A better understanding of insecure living circumstances and the relational world of older people has the potential to contribute to the development of care planning and delivery. This chapter examines conditions of precarity and empowering social ties of older people in community sites. The study used ethnographic methods to understand the lived experiences of 20 older people that was predominantly female and African American in Baton Rouge in the U.S. State of Louisiana. The ethnographic fieldwork for this investigation was conducted from 2013 to 2018 through participant-observations and open-ended interviews in three community sites in Baton Rouge. The field data was analyzed using social network and empowerment frameworks. The social ties of older people in Louisiana were compared with a previous study on social ties of older people in two Swedish senior centers. The analysis focuses self-, peer- and community empowerment levels and how they protect against precarity of older people. The findings from studying different community sites of older people in Louisiana demonstrate that the key social support ties that provided a buffer against precarity of older people were close friendships made in community sites and spiritual faith ties to God. Conditions of precarity and sources of stress of older people in Louisiana were constant threats of discontinuity of home-based health care services, prescription and medication access, not affording health care and other social problems of poverty, cognitive impairment and declining health. In Louisiana, self- and peer empowerment of older people were strong, but community empowerment through home-based health care services were not enough to prevent and reduce precarity of older people. Toward the background that Sweden can be considered to have a comprehensive social welfare system it is easier to see examples of empowerment of older people on all three levels. Self- and community empowerment were the strongest when studying examples of community sites for older people. In the Swedish study, the social network of older people was dominated by thin ties between senior peers. Community sites are needed as completent to ageing at home. In Louisiana, strong (thick) ties of older people were dominant. For the older people in Louisiana to receive consistent home-based health care services was not a given but required an ongoing active and joint effort by older people, family caregivers and friends. Policy implications of this study are that ongoing care support by family caregivers, friends and home-based health care services and medication access without gaps are needed to reduce and protect against precarity of older people. Self-empowerment should be supported by not only peer but also community empowerment.

    The starting point of this study is based on a perspective of Work Integrated Learning through the social pedagogy program that has been located to the northern Kalmar county region since 2003. With the study I want to highlight which importance it provides to local organizations and their development that the education is available in the local community. The purpose of the study is to illustrate and analyze how employee's formal and informal education provides for organizational development and implementation based on a socio-cultural perspective. Another aim is to focus on the importance of social pedagogy in welfare work in the northern Kalmar county region.

    The study has a qualitative approach in which I´ve used half-structured interviews. In total, eight interviews have been conducted with business leaders and coordinators in welfare work. The selection has been made based on an ongoing study that has shown which activities have recruited most students from the social pedagogy program in the region. As a theoretical framework, a sociocultural perspective is used, focusing on the concepts,learning and communities.

    The result of the study shows that access to students is a crucial factor in meeting the skills and recruitment needs in the region. Vocational education is important for the organizations learning and organizational development, providing the possibility to build practical experience from the professional life of the students, as well as to get an analytical look at their own work. The relationship between education and the workplace can be understood from a changing labor market where the education needs updates from the field of activity and the field of activity is dependent on education based on educating.

    In this study, I have studied how teachers are working to enable inclusion for pupils with difficulties in social interaction without the need to have a diagnosis. Municipalities and schools work differently when it comes to students who need support. Teachers in the study agree that the work of the school around the inclusion is important. The empirical data were collected using qualitative methods through interviews with four female teachers from three different schools in two different municipalities. The analysis of the results was done by qualitative content analysis according to Lundman and Hällgren Graneheim (2008) where the theoretical basis has been participation. The results of the study show that the interviewed teachers are actively working to enable inclusion for pupils who have difficulties in social interaction. They also focus on increasing the understanding of students' differences and diverse needs by advocating that all are important just as it is. The conclusions you can make from this study is that teachers work actively and purposefully to enable inclusion and resources for this planned based on student needs. The work takes place not only at the individual level but also at group level with the whole class and school together. The diagnosis has no bearing on whether the pupil should be supported, but it may in some cases facilitate the planning of assistance

    Stress är en del av socialarbetares arbetsförhållanden. Hur socialarbetare hanterar denna typ av stress är avgörande för att förstå olika utfall av hälsa och kvalitet i arbetet. Egenvård kan i detta sammanhang bidra till att socialarbetare får möjlighet att kompensera för några av de strukturella, organisatoriska och interpersonella utmaningar de möter i sitt arbete. Regelbundna egenvårdande vanor kan även bidra till att ge socialarbetare energi och verktyg att hantera den arbetsrelaterade stressen. Studiens syfte avser att undersöka hur socialarbetare upplever arbetsrelaterad stress samt hur de hanterar den arbetsrelaterade stressen i ett egenvårdande syfte. Sex socialarbetare med befattningarna: Frivårdsinspektör, klientsamordnare, behandlare, boendestödjare och socialsekreterare (två stycken) från olika verksamheter intervjuades. Studien bygger på en kvalitativ ansats där semistrukturerade intervjuer använts. Socialarbetarna upplevde stress relaterat högarbetsbelastning bristande kontroll över sin arbetssituaton och uteblivet stöd från abetsplatsen. Socialt stöd, positivt tänkande, regelbundna pauser under arbetsdagen och mindfulness var egenvårdande copingstrategier socialarbetarna använde sig av för att hantera den arbetsrelaterade stressen. Användandet av egenvårdande copingstrategier minskade den upplevda stressen.

    This study is based on the collaboration processes between primary school and social services and based on how collaboration works in practice between these two organizations. Through a qualitative study in a suburb in western Sweden, we came to the conclusion how people from different professions at primary school and social services experience the interaction process and how they work together to develop collaboration. It also revealed some success factors and shortcomings in cooperation. It clearly demonstrated during the study that collaboration is a time consuming process based on good relationships. Respondents saw the collaboration as an essential resource to meet vulnerable children's needs in the best way.

    Abstract [en]

    The study´s intention was to examine the horse assisted therapy´s support or prohibitive effects on the recovery process of girls with psychological non-suicidal self-injury behaviour. The study´s question formulations were; what aspects are supportive or prohibitive in the recovery process. A qualitative method was used to answer the questions within the study; four qualitative interviews were made as a foundation for the work. The informants were all female and over 18 years of age, who lived or had lived at a rehabilitee centre with a focus on horse assisted therapy. The result of the study presents both supportive and prohibitive effects of the treatment.

    Supportive aspects of the treatment, found in this study are; it helps to reduce anxiety and lower non-suicidal behaviour in addition lifts confidence. Through respect for horses´ ability to read various state of minds and reflect these as their own, which increases the empathic behaviour of the girls; which makes them reflect about their own behaviour and there by more aware of the consequences of their actions.

    Obstructive aspects of the treatment, found in this study are; the size of the animal and flight behaviour may cause fear of injury. An accident during a therapy session may cause mistrust regarding the effect of the therapy and may intervene with the recovery process. The bond between the horse and the girl might grow too strong, and have a negative effect on the girl when the treatment is over or if the horse dies; which would inflict the recovery process.

    With support of these results, we conclude that control is an important aspect in the recovery process of girls. All the sub-themes that has been found in the results and analysis can be linked to some sort of control aspect. We have seen that taking control over oneself or a situation helps the recovery process; whilst absence of control may obscure or stop it. Accordingly the control subject may be developable within the social pedagogy field of research. To increase the sense of control can be done in more than one way. A feeling of involvement in both trivial and big decisions may have an positive impact on the recovery process, because it gives a greater sense of control. It can be everything between make part in cooking to be part in their own health- and rehabilitation planning

    Background: People with mental disabilities often live in exclusion and regularly find themselves outside of the regular labour market. The lack of work or a meaningful occupation can lead to a deterioration in both health and opportunities for recovery. The present study deals with people with mental disabilities that have a work-focused occupation. The study was carried out in a Fountain House, as a demarcation had to be made to a specific division.Purpose: The purpose of the study was to examine what role occupation has in terms of recovery for people with mental disabilities. The questions asked were which elements in occupation might promote recovery and which might prevent, with a focus on participation and meaningfulness in occupation.Method: The study has a qualitative onset. Six semi-structured interviews have been carried out with people involved in a work-focused occupation and that have, as interpreted from the standpoint of an administrative definition, mental disabilities. The analysis work has been made with the help of sentence concentration, and the empiricism has been analysed according to the theoretical outsets of recovery, participation and meaningfulness.Result: As seen from the result, an individual-based meaningful occupation in which the individual fill a function and feel competent, as well as being offered participation and a feeling of community, contribute to a promotion of the recovery of the individual. Furthermore, the result showed that occupation can contribute to a changed self-image and a structure that is of use in a well-functioning everyday life. Another discovery is that conflict is an element in occupation that may prevent recovery, which in turn can affect participation and community negatively, as people may choose to stay at home because of it. It is shown that a lack of economic replacement in occupation can be perceived as negative and constitute an obstruction element for recovery. The knowledge of which elements in occupation that might promote or prevent recovery can be attributed to develop and improve different occupation activities.

    The aim of the present study is to gain a better understanding of how the psykosocialmedicinska reception MiniMili working to reduce youth drug use in Ale municipality and which aspects that promote or hinder this work is perceived. The study is qualitative in nature and includes three semi-structured interviews with personnel at MiniMili as well as a youth in the ongoing treatment process. The result that the present study has generated has shown that the relationship between youth and the processor is considered to be more important than what treatment method is used because it is in relation to young people's motivation for a change process is created. To see youth from a holistic perspective by involving its network, as well as to adapt the aid efforts from the youngster's needs is considered central to promoting treatment activities.

    That young people experience a membership in different social contexts are highlighted by both previous research, theoretical starting points as well as respondents to be an important aspect. Man is a gregarious animal and need to experience both the closeness, caring, and community in order to maintain a good health. It is therefore of great importance to develop and create more opportunities for young people to meet in different social arenas. Drugs are becoming more commonplace among young people. Online drug's importance surrounding this development has proven to be great. Online drugs creates an increased supply of psykaktiva substances in the sentence may not be illegal, but in many cases just as dangerous. Drugs are a button press away, and can be ordered straight to your door, making it difficult to catch up with these youngsters. It is therefore very important to highlight this issue.

    Abstract [en]

    Rationale and aim: Ambulance staff, i.e. registered nurses and assistant nurses, receive assignments from emergency dispatch centres including information on level of priority, address and patient’s care requirements. One problem is that the preliminary information the dispatcher gives to the ambulance staff may be incomplete. The purpose of this study was to determine how ambulance staff base their assessments on incomplete preliminary information when assessing care requirements.

    Methods: Fifteen ambulance staff working at seven ambulance stations were interviewed for this study. Interviews were transcribed and analysed using content analysis.

    Results: Incomplete preliminary information means that ambulance staff may be misdirected. This means that if the preliminary information from the dispatcher is incomplete, the ambulance staff need to reassess, and this is perceived to be difficult. Ambulance staff tend to stick to the first initiative that is taken after they receive an alert from the dispatcher.

    Conclusions: When ambulance staff receive incomplete preliminary information, they need to consider the possibility of conducting a reassessment. Based on the results, there is a need for new procedures to improve preparedness to conduct a reassessment after receiving incomplete preliminary information.

    Andelen äldre i befolkningen ökar, vilket innebär en utmaning för olika aktörer när det gäller att kunna ge äldre vård och omsorg med hög kvalitet och med hänsyn tagen till skilda individuella sociala och kulturella behov. Allt fler hjälpbehövande personer i befolkningen, inom ramen för begränsade ekonomiska och personella resurser, är en utmaning samtidigt som kommande grupper av äldre förväntas ställa andra och alltmer individualiserade krav.

    Den personal som arbetar inom vård- och omsorgsarbete är främst kvinnor. De flesta är deltidsanställda med korta utbildningar. Vård- och omsorgsarbete innebär ofta ett fysiskt och psykiskt tungt arbete, vilket synliggörs i socialförsäkringsstatistik vad gäller korttids- som långtidsfrånvaro. Ett sätt att möta framtida omsorgsbehov och omsorgens arbetsvillkor är via utbildning och kompetensutveckling.

    Vilka kvaliteter och kompetenser är nödvändiga för att möta dagens och morgondagens äldregrupper? Hur ska utbildningskrav formuleras? Hur ska omsorgen utformas som arbetsplats och vilka kvaliteter bör omsorgsgivaren representera? Sådana frågor formuleras och besvaras ofta via utredningar iscensatta och genomförda av tjänstemän på centrala positioner. Vi har valt att sätta fokus på hur den personal som idag bedriver omsorgsarbete för äldre, resonerar om sina erfarenheter av arbetets kvaliteter och de möjligheter de kan se vad gäller att lära för omsorgsarbete som i arbetet.

    Vi har genomfört en pilotstudie i form av work shops med två grupper kvinnor anställda som undersköterskor och biträden. Syftet var att undersöka vård- och omsorgspersonals överväganden när det gäller förutsättningar för att arbeta heltid. Respondenterna har uttryckt hinder och möjligheter för heltidsarbete, utbildningsbehov och formulerat hur den goda arbetsplatsen bör utformas för att möjliggöra hög kvalitet.

    Vår slutsats är att det finns interna kompetensutvecklingsmöjligheter som kan formuleras som behov av dialog och cogenerativt lärande mellan vårdpersonal, arbetsgivare och utbildningsanordnare som sätt att möta utmaningen att ge god omsorgskvalitet och förbättrade arbetsvillkor.

    Denna rapport handlar om ett värdegrundsarbete och är ett resultat av ett utvecklingsarbete som bedrivits i samverkan mellan personal i ett hemtjänstdistrikt i Trollhättan och två forskare vid Högskolan Väst. Texten är,där inget annat anges, författad av undersköterskor och vårdbiträden, enskilt eller i grupp. Rapporten inleds med en bakgrund där hemtjänstpersonalen beskriver sitt arbete och hur det är organiserat. Därefter gör de en genomgång av den av Socialstyrelsen fastställda värdegrunden för äldreomsorg som visar vilka etiska värden och normer som ska ligga till grund för en verksamhet. Denna del följs av personalens beskrivning av arbetsprocessen och om samtal om hur forskning går till, forskningsetik, intervjuer, analys och rapportskrivande. Det övergripande syftet med projektet som helhet är att ta tillvara brukares synpunkter och personalens kunskaper och erfarenheter för att utveckla och öka kvaliteten i hemtjänstarbetet. För att undersöka brukarnas uppfattning om värdegrundsarbetet har personalen intervjuat nitton av sina brukare. Resultatet av brukarnas synpunkter redovisas tillsammans med respektive värdegrundsbegrepp. För att ge en inblick i hemtjänstens komplexa arbete har personalen också skrivit ett antal korta berättelser. Dessa illustrerar vardagliga situationer och personalens reflektioner över relationer och arbetsinnehåll. Rapporten avslutas med forskarnas tankar om processarbetet. Rapporten vänder sig till politiker,brukare, tjänstemän, närstående, chefer, intresserade av vård- och omsorgsyrken och personal inom olika verksamheter för att de ska få en insyn ihemtjänstarbetet.

    Abstract [en]

    The study aims to describe, compare, and analyze how managers and basic staff in disability care reflects on education and competence in the organization and from an organizational context explain how the professionalization efforts can be understood at different levels of disability care. Highlighting these questions can stimulate discussion within this field when it comes to the evaluation of competence and skills of staff working with people with various disabilities, which is also sought after in society even more today. The study is qualitative and the result is based on five semi-structured interviews with managers and basic staff in disability care. The interview questions were categorized according to the concepts that are central in this essay: competence, training, professionalism and organization.

    The results show that there is some doubt about what a higher competence of personnel in direct contact with the users would mean. Among the basic staff uncertainty seems to be highest. Three different ways of relating to education and competence issues in the organization emerges: advocates of formal knowledge, advocate of practical knowledge and advocate of dialectical knowledge. The study shows some differences among managers and basic staffs attitude where basic staff seem to evaluate the practical knowledge, or dialectical, to a greater extent, while the managers seem to appreciate the theoretical knowledge to a greater extent.

    Ungdomsbrottsligheten i Sverige har sedan 1900-talet benämnts som ett samhällsproblem. För att hindra brottsutvecklingen och förebygga ungdomsbrottslighet finns indikation på att samverkan mellan polisen och socialtjänsten är nödvändig. Sekretesslagstiftningen har lyfts fram som en begränsande faktor avseende samverkan och anses som ett hinder i det brottsförebyggande arbetet. Syftet med studien var därav att undersöka utifrån polis- och socialtjänstemäns perspektiv, om det föreligger hinder eller möjligheter med beaktan av sekretesslagstiftningen, i samverkansarbetet mellan polismyndigheten och den kommunala socialtjänsten, i ärenden där unga pojkar befinner sig i riskzonen för att hamna i kriminalitet. Studien utformades utifrån en kvalitativ ansats, där sju semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes digitalt via Teams och Zoom. Studiens urval bestod av tre socialtjänstemän och fyra poliseri olika åldrar, kön och arbetslivserfarenheter. Studiens empiri analyserades med en tematisk analys med utgångspunkt från Berth Danermarks samverkansteori.Studiens resultat visade att det fanns flertal hindrande faktorer för att samverkan mellan polisen och socialtjänstemännen ska ha en god funktionalitet och attsamverkans funktion skiljer sig från kommun till kommun. Polis- och socialtjänstemän hade skilda uppfattningar om sekretesslagstiftningens funktion, där polisen och socialtjänsten hade olika åsikter om hur informationsdelning ska genomföras mellan myndigheterna. Slutsatserna som drogs var att det råder samverkanssvårigheter mellan polis- och socialtjänstemän och att det råder okunskap och oförståelse för varandras professionsutövande, samt om hur sekretesslagstiftningen ska användas i enskilda fall. Socialt- och socialpedagogiskt arbete står ständigt inför utmaningar i klientnära relationer. Författarna intention var att framhäva komplexiteten och öka förståelsen kring hur sekretesslagstiftningen kan möjliggöra eller komplicera samverkansarbete mellan myndigheterna i brottsförebyggande arbete.

    Social Services is the section of society that has main responsibility for making sure children's needs of protection and the family's need of support are seen and met. Research shows that there is a dilemma in the assessment of what can be counted as children's acceptable or unacceptable home situation, but also to some extent there is disagreement between socialworkers about where boundaries for what acceptable parenting is lie. This may constitute a risk detrimental to the child's development and health partly due to which social worker carries out the investigation. In view of the problem area illustrated above, it is important to draw attention to the thoughts of the social worker when assessing adequately good parenthood and where boundaries lie for acceptable parental behaviour. To attain a deeper understanding of how social workers interpret and reason about adequately good parenthood, a qualitative approach with semistructured interviews was used. The study's theoretical reference is based on the object relations theory, Donald W Winnicotts concept 'Good Enough', Kari Killéns definition of parental ability and the concept Phronesis. The information data was coded, categorised,themed and analysed by using the above mentioned theoretical perspectives and earlier research on the subject. Results show that social workers thoughts on adequately good parenting partly are in line with earlier research. They consider that assessments are complex, basing them on knowledge,personal points of reference and regulatory framework. Social workers view parents' ability to maintain continuity and stability over time as an important aspect in making assessments, and also being emotionally available for their child. Other important aspects are parents' ability to put their child's needs before their own and to recognise their own limitations. The ability to have insight permeates all aspects of parenthood.

    Studier visar att sexuella trakasserier är ett vanligt förekommande problem, där så många som en tredjedel av eleverna på gymnasiet blivit utsatta för sexuella trakasserier det senaste året. Tjejer är också mer utsatta än killar. Trots att det finns lagar och styrdokument kring sexuella trakasserier som ska vägleda personal och skydda elever i skolan är detta ett problem som enligt forskning är lika utbrett nu som tidigare. Bland ungdomar finns en okunskap kring vad sexuella trakasserier innebär, vilket resulterar i att både den utsatte och förövaren inte alltid är medvetna om att handlingen är ett lagbrott. Därmed anmäls inte heller handlingen.

    Denna studie syftar till att undersöka elevers förståelse och erfarenhet kring sexuella trakasserier, där utgångspunkten är socialkonstruktivismen. Genus, könsroller, normer, sexualitet och sexism är centrala begrepp. Fokus har lagts vid att studera könsskillnader. Studien har genomförts med kvantitativ ansats med enkät som metod. Deltagarna var 110 elever som studerade vid ett gymnasium i Västsverige. Resultatet i studien visade att både förståelsen och erfarenheten kring sexuella trakasserier bland eleverna var låg. Många elever hade dock erfarenhet av verbala sexuella trakasserier. I resultatet framkom även att tjejer hade mer erfarenhet och en större förståelse för sexuella trakasserier än killar.

    Swedish society carries out and places around 1,000 young people in locked institutions each year. The majority of these are taken care of and placed under LVU paragraph 3, they are living a destructive life at risk for their own health and development. The average age of these young people is 16 years. At the same age, a crucial part of the creation of young people's self-image is taking place. It has been important to draw attention to these young people's stories and experiences with the above problem area as a background.

    The study aims at finding out how these processes are affected by locked institutional care.

    A qualitative approach with semistructured interviews has been used to gain a deeper understanding of these young people's experiences. The theoretical assumption of the study is based on symbolic interactionism, which means that the identity and self are created in interaction with other people. The idea was to see how the relationships they had before the placement and how the relationships they created with staff and the other youths at the institution effected how young people looked at themselves. We have conducted interviews with four boys who previously lived in locked institutions to get a sense of their experiences. The empirical material has then been coded, thematized, summarized and analyzed on the basis of the above-mentioned theory and previous research on the area.

    The result shows the importance of participation during treatment and the importance of good relationships with the staff. The time spent at the institution has functioned as an isolation of their past lives but has not significantly affected the creation of self-image. It's important that young people receive proper support in that process because it can affect their future choices of life and view on themselves.

    Reports from the National Board of Health and Welfare and studies published by the Public Health Authority shows that mental illness at children and young people in Sweden has increased sharply since the middle of 1980s. The purpose of this study is to examine how collaboration in the municipality of Värnamo looks like between the school, the social service and child and adolescent psychiatry for pupils at the upper secondary school who suffer from mental illness. The study is a qualitative study that investigates how collaboration works between the school and the social service in the municipality of Värnamo. The selection of the informants was made on the basis of professional experience or their involvement in collaboration around children and young people suffering from mental illness. The empirical data is based on three structured interviews with two representatives from the student health and one representative from the social service. The interviews have been coded and thematised in order to be analyzed on the basis of the collaborative theory. The result shows that communication is one of the most important part for collaboration to work and that collaboration is usually based on personal knowledge. Furthermore, it appears that laws and regulations need to be renewed and clarified in order to facilitate collaboration for everyone involved. Further, the result shows that the child perspective is taken into account to a certain extent, but that professionals need to be better at seeing and hearing the child from a holistic perspective.

    According to the Swedish law, föräldrabalken, (FB, SFS 1949:381, Kap. 6, 1 §) every child has the right to care, safety and a good upbringing. It’s mainly the child’s guardians who have the primary duty to fulfill these needs but if they are unable to do so then the social service com-mittee has according to the Social Services Act (SoL, SFS 2001:453) a particularly duty to fulfill these needs for children and young adults. If or when a child for various reasons cannot con-tinue to stay with his or her parents then the social service committee has the option of placing the child in foster care. The meaning of foster care according to SoL (SFS 2001:453), Kap. 3 2 §, is a home which is assigned by the social service committee to care for a child or a young adults needs, safety and upbringing doesn’t do this as a line of work. The purpose of our thesis is to study how the foster parents, within the frames of their assignment, experience the contact with the social services. We have chosen to use a phenomenological perspective as a point of view in our thesis. Phenomenology is a philosophical orientation that explores the question of how an individual creates meaning in their own life world. Furthermore we have chosen a qualitative approach with interviews as our main tool. We saw this as an advantage since we during the interviews could choose to further explore, and gain a deeper understanding of, the interviewed persons own experiences and viewpoints. The qualitative interview gave us the possibility to focus on whatever the interviewed person experienced as relevant and important to them (Bryman, 2001).

    The analysis revealed that the foster parents were of the opinion that they received to little information, or faulty information, about the child prior to the start of the assignment. The foster parents also experienced differences in the communication with the social services depending on the individual social worker who represented the social services. It was also clear that the treatment and the support received from the social worker were highly relevant to how suc-cessful the assignment was.
