Abstract [sv]

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) har på senare år blivit allt mer uppmärksammat runt om i världen. Medarbetare anses vara en av de viktigaste intressenterna en organisation innehar men trots detta belyser många forskare att det existerar relativt lite forskning gällande medarbetares involvering av arbetet med CSR.

Studiens syfte var att bidra med ökad kunskap kring hur ett involveringsarbete av medarbetare kan gå till och varför det är viktigt. Denna kunskap är viktig för organisationer för att arbetet med CSR ska bli mer effektivt. För att uppnå syftet besvarades forskningsfrågorna: "Hur kan medarbetare involveras i organisationens arbete med CSR?" och "Varför är det av vikt att involvera medarbetare i arbetet med CSR?". En kvalitativ studie genomfördes för att kunna besvara frågorna och uppfylla syftet. För att få fram det empiriska material till studien studerades två organisationer och sex intervjuer genomfördes.

I den teoretiska referensramen presenterades forskning om vad CSR är, vikten av att involvera medarbetare i arbetet med CSR och hur medarbetare kan involveras i detta arbete. Studiens teoretiska referensram utgjorde sedan grunden för tolkningen av resultatet. Studiens resultat visade att medarbetare kan involveras i en organisations arbete med CSR på många olika sätt. Resultatet visade att medarbetare kan involveras i organisationers arbete med CSR genom bland annat utbildning, filantropiska aktiviteter samt genom en effektiv intern kommunikation. Utifrån vår studie framkom också att det är viktigt att involvera medarbetare då de många gånger förmedlar organisationens hållbarhetsarbete till organisationens externa intressenter. För att kunna skapa en gemensam kultur och gemensamma värderingar inom organisationen är det också av vikt att medarbetare är involverade i detta arbete.

Abstract [en]

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become more and more attention around the world during the past years. Employees are considered to be one of the main stakeholders that an organization has and despite this many scientists highlight that there is relatively little research on employee involvement in work with CSR.

This study's purpose was to contribute to increasing knowledge on how to involve the employees and why it is important to do so. This knowledge is important for organization's work with CSR to become more effective. In order to achieve the purpose of the research, two questions were answered: "How can the employees be involved in the organization's work with CSR?" and "Why is it important to involve employees in the work with CSR?". A study was conducted to answer the questions and fulfill the purpose. To obtain the empirical material for this study two organizations were studied and six interviews were conducted.

In the theoretical framework research is presented about what CSR is, the importance of involving employees in the process of CSR and how employees can be involved in this work. The study's theoretical framework became the basis for the interpretation of the results. The results of the study showed that employees can be involved in an organization's work with CSR in many different ways. The results showed that employees can be involved in the organizations' work with CSR through education, philanthropic activities and through effective internal communication. Our study also revealed that it is important to involve the employees as they often convey the organization's sustainability efforts to the organization's external stakeholders. In order to create a common culture and common values within the organization, it is also important that the employees are involved in this work.
