Where are all the swedes after 7 pm? : How highly educated adult men experience the learning process to become integrated. (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to get knowledge of the experiences highly educated adult men, who are newcomers, has of their learning process to become integrated in the Swedish society. We had a phenomenological approach and used interviews as our method. Our result shows that there are possibilities for our target group to integrate and acclimatize. There is already a foundation to stand on but it needs to be developed and improved. To learn the language, be able to understand the culture and the values in society is problematic for our target group. The reason for this is that they don't meet enough native-born or immigrated Swedish people. A part of the solution is to give our target group the possibility to enjoy other environments beside the refugee camp. It also requires that the society listens to their individual needs.
