Role of Warehousing in Supply Chain Management of International Business

Abstract [en]
The goal of this research study was to explore and examine the main warehousing operations and space utilization methods used in warehouse of international businesses. In introduction chapter, the background of the research topic was given. In this chapter the problem areas of this study were discussed. During warehousing operations like receiving, storage, handling and shipping lot of care has to be taken to avoid the errors and inefficiencies. The warehousing operations and better space utilization methods helped in increasing the efficiency of warehousing. The guide to the problems relating to warehouse operation and better space utilization was provided through the interviews of warehousing managers of the selected international companies operating in Sweden. This was a qualitative research study to explore the deep knowledge about the problematic area of this research. For this study, secondary data was collected from University West library's search engine Primo and through different books. The analysis model was developed on the basis of previous researchers' studies. Primary data was collected through the semi structured from warehousing managers of three selected international companies operating in Sweden. The primary data collected from semi structured interview showed similarity between theory and practice. During work on this research study, one new idea is also innovated regarding material to be used in making of pallets. This idea can be implemented and in my opinion, this can be helpful for Green Environment. This innovative idea was discussed after analysis chapter of this research study.
