Detta examensarbete behandlar det ekonomiska måttet Tobin Q's påverkan på påbörjandet av småhusbyggnationer i Sverige under perioden 1998-2014. I tillägg utför vi även analyser på två utvalda län med det högsta, respektive det lägsta värdet för Tobins Q för att lyfta fram de regionala skillnaderna som råder i riket, dessa är Stockholms län och Västerbottens län. Genom regressionsanalyser fann vi ett positivt samband mellan Tobins Q och påbörjandet av nybyggnationer för riket som helhet samt för Stockholms län, något samband mellan variablerna för Västerbottens län fann vi inte.

In this paper we analyze the relations between the profitability, as described by Tobin Q, and newly constructed houses in Sweden for the period 1998 to 2014. In addition, we include two counties with the lowest and the highest Q-values, namely, Stockholm and Västerbotten, to highlight the regional differences. We found, through regression analyses, that there is a positive relation between profitability and the newly constructed houses for the whole country and Stockholm, but not for Västerbotten.
