This essay will explore Pantheism and the ways in which it is central in the novel. This novel also introduces other questions about life, religion and beliefs through the protagonist named Pi (Piscine Molitor Patel) and the Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. The main plot takes place in a small lifeboat drifting on the Pacific for 227 days, where Pi and the wild animals are forced to survive. However, I will only focus on Pi and Richard Parker because it is the interaction between these two characters that is crucial to my reading of the novel
