Problemformulering: Studiens syfte är att beskriva och analysera hur upplevelsen av det sociala stödet i form av boendestöd är ur både personalens och klientens perspektiv. Teori: Symbolisk interaktionism är studiens teoretiska utgångspunkt, de centrala begreppen är socialt stöd, social interaktion och bemötande. Metod: Studien har en kvalitativ forskningsansats i form av 10 semistrukturerade intervjuer. Det genomfördes fem intervjuer med personer som jobbar som boendestödspersonal och fem intervjuer med personer som har hjälp av boendestöd. Grupperna är inte från samma kommun.

Resultat: Studien visar att det är boendestödpersonalens egenskaper och relationen mellan personal och klient som är stödjande i det sociala stödet. Egenskaper som är stödjande är enligt mina respondenter respekt, tålamod och att kunna lyssna. Relationen mellan boendestödspersonal och klient spelar en viktig roll i mötet mellan dessa två och påverkar också hur det sociala stödet upplevs. Upplevelsen av relationen är olika mellan klient och boendestödspersonal. Båda parter tycker att relationen är bra men klienterna ser relationen som vänskaplig och boendestödspersonalen ser det inte som vänskaplig utan som en personlig men professionell relation. Klienterna framhäver vikten av den goda relationen genom att berätta att de kan prata med sin personal om vad som helst, de kan öppna sig för dem och prata om svårigheter. Studien visar att boendestödspersonalen möter klientens svårigheter genom att följa klienterna, vara delaktig men att ändå inte gå med i deras sjukdom. Att finnas där och lyssna, visa förståelse och respekt, att inte nedvärdera klientens upplevelse är också ett sätt att möta klientens svårighet. Ett vidare sätt är också vara uppriktig och ärlig, mot personer med psykossjukdomar. Studien visar även en beskrivning av insatsen inom boendestöd som kan bestå av till exempel stöd vid städning eller social tid som kan nyttjas på olika sätt. Syftet med insatsen är många gånger att få klienten att komma ut och bryta klientens isolering.

Problem definition: The study's purpose is to describe and analyze how the experience of social aid in the form of housing support is from both the staff and the client's perspective. Method: The study was a qualitative research approach in the form of 10 semi-structured interviews. It conducted five interviews with individuals who work as the residents' support staff and five interviews with people who have means of housing support. Groups are not from the same municipality.

Results: The study shows that it is the housing support staff's characteristics and relationships between staff and client that is supportive of social aid. Properties that are supportive as my respondents says are respect, patience and being able to listen. The relationship between accommodation supported staff and client plays an important role in the encounter between these two and also influence how the social aid is experienced. The experience of the relation is different between the client and the accommodation support staff. Both parties feel that the relationship is a good one but the clients see the relationship as a friendship and the supporting staff sees it not as a friendship but as a personal but professional relationship. Clients stresses the importance of the good relationship by telling us that they can talk to them about anything, they can open up to them and talk about the difficulties. The study shows that housing staff meets the client's difficulties by following the client, be involved but that still did not join their disease. To be there and listen, show understanding and respect, not to devaluing the client's experience is also a way to meet the client's difficulty. A further approach is also to be frank and honest, against people with Psychotic illnesses, instead of talking around. The study also shows a description of the initiative in assisted living that may consist of, for example, assistance in cleaning or social time, which can be used in different ways. The aim of the operation is many times to get the client to come out and break the client's isolation.
