Hemtjänstens verksamhet hjälper människor som bor i egen bostad och av olika skäl har svårt att klara av de dagliga sysslorna. Paraplybegreppen är service och personlig omvårdnad i hemmet och kommunen kan bevilja hjälpen under dagtid, kvällstid samt nattetid. Informationen om hur vården ska utföras dubbellagras i både pappersform hos brukarna samt digitalt i hemtjänstens central. Denna dubbellagring medför ibland att uppgifterna inte överensstämmer och kan förorsaka problem. Hemtjänst som verksamhet arbetar mot konceptet pervasiv hälsovård. Med pervasiv hälsovård menas hälsovård till vem som helst, när som helst, och var som helst. Med ökat tryck på finansiella besparingar inom hälsovården kommer pervasiv hälsovård och molntjänster att vara ett sätt att möta dessa krav genom att patienterna kan vårdas i sina hem. Molntjänster är effektiva, ökar tillgängligheten av information samt erbjuder tjänster och hårdvara efter verksamhetens behov.

Syftet med studien är att se över hur hemtjänsten kan påverkas av att deras verksamhetssystem driftas som molntjänster. Aspekter som säkerhet, sekretess och tillgänglighet är centrala i uppsatsen. Undersökningen baseras på en fallstudie utförd i tre kommuners hemtjänst och deras IT-ledning. De datainsamlingsmetoder som främst har använts var intervjuer och litteraturstudie. Det empiriska materialet beskriver hemtjänsten som verksamhet, dess information och kommunikationssystem, hur dessa system driftas, informationssäkerheten och slutligen synen på framtida möjligheter för molntjänster inom hemtjänsten. Med verksamhetssystem som molntjänst ökar tillgängligheten till information om brukare och personalen kan utgå från en informationskälla vilket även ökar tillförlitligheten. När det kommer till säkerheten för molntjänster måste säkerhetsperspektivet förändras till att allt mer säkra data framför infrastrukturen. Säkerhet och sekretess av data begränsar dock tillgängligheten, vilket kan bli en svår balansgång för hemtjänsten. Integrering mot befintliga system inom hemtjänsten är ett hinder och en säkerhetsrisk eftersom alla system för närvarande inte kan integreras till molntjänster. Därför bör molntjänster behandlas på ledningsnivå som ett strategiskt val istället för att diskuteras på verksamhetsnivå för att lösa ett specifikt problem.

Home care service helps people who live in their own homes and have difficulties coping with the daily chores, for various reasons. The wider concepts are service and personal care in the home, and the municipality may grant aid, depending on the resolved healthcare, in the daytime, evening and nighttime. The information about how the healthcare is supposed to be performed for the individual is stored both by paper at their homes and digitally in the home care service center. Storing the data in two places means that it occasionally is inconsistent, which can cause problems. Home care service strives towards the concept of pervasive healthcare. Pervasive healthcare means healthcare to anyone, anytime and anywhere. With increasing pressure on financial savings in healthcare, cloud services and pervasive healthcare will be a way to meet these requirements based on that the patients can be cared for in their homes. Cloud services are effective, increases the availability of information, and provides scaleability of hardware and software for the business.

The aim of the study is to see how home care services may be affected by having their business systems operated as cloud services and the key aspects of the paper is security, privacy and accessibility. The survey is based on a case study conducted in three municipalities home care services and their IT management. The methods used to collect data were mainly interviews and literature study. The empirical data describes home care services as a business, its information and communications systems and how they are hosted, information security, and finally the perception of future opportunities for cloud services in the business of home care service. By using cloud services as business systems the availability of information about patients increase and the staff only have to assume one source of information, which also increases its reliability. When it comes to security of cloud services, the perspective must change from securing the infrastructure to securing the data. However, the security and the confidentiality of the data limits the availability and can be a difficult balancing act for the home care service. Integration with existing systems in the home care service can be a security risk and barrier because the systems cannot currently be integrated into the cloud. Therefor the cloud services should be discussed on a management level as a viable selection of strategy rather than evaluated to solve a specific problem on an operational level.
