Abstract [sv]

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om det fanns ett samband mellan upplevd anställningsbarhet, extraversion, självförmåga (eng. self-efficacy) och ålder hos studenter på en högskola i Västsverige. Vidare syftade studien till att undersöka i vilken grad dessa faktorer kan predicera upplevd anställningsbarhet. Det gjordes även en jämförelse mellan skillnader i upplevd anställningsbarhet dels mellan olika program, dels mellan kvinnor och män. Enkäter delades ut till studenter som läste andra året på programmen för förskollärare, sjuksköterskor, socialpsykiatrisk vård, personalvetare, digitala medier och lantmäteriingenjörer. Av resultatet framkom att självförmåga och ålder kan predicera upplevd anställningsbarhet samt att det fanns ett positivt samband mellan var och en av prediktorerna och upplevd anställningsbarhet. Ingen signifikant könsskillnad i upplevd anställningsbarhet framkom av undersökningen. Däremot kunde skillnader mellan de olika programmen utläsas som signifikanta där sjuksköterskor självskattade sig själva högst i upplevd anställningsbarhet.

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to examine if there was a relation between perceived employability, extroversion, self-efficacy and age in students at a university in Western Sweden. Furthermore the purpose was to examine if these factors can predict perceived employability. A comparison between differences in perceived employability was also made between different programs and gender. Surveys was handed out to second-years students at six different educational programs at University West. The results showed that self-efficacy and age can predict perceived employability. There was also a positive correlation between each of the predictors with perceived employability. There was no significant difference between the sexes in perceived employability. Although, differences between the various programs was significant and the nurses self-rated themselves highest in perceived employability.
