Change management and resistance : In the energy sector (English)
Abstract [en]

Most organizations go through some kind of changing process during its lifetime. Unfortunately many of these changes fail due to different reasons. Larger changing processes cost companies lots of effort and there are many things to take into account during the process. In many cases a massive resistance among the employees is also present. This paper has focused on different reasons for resistance during a changing process and found out that communication is a main success factor, but also that the management team has an important role to fulfil in order to structure and organize the changing process. This study has proceeded as a case study where we have investigated employees, managers and consultants' experiences of changing processes and the resistance created by change management. In our study, we have worked along a qualitative method with an interpretive approach to create an understanding for the subject

Abstract [sv]

De flesta organisationer genomgår någon form av förändringsprocess under sin fortlevnad men dessvärremisslyckas ofta många utav dessa av olika anledningar. Större förändringar är många gånger mycket kostsamma för företagen och omfattar en rad faktorer att ta hänsyn till under själva förändringsprocessen. I många fall uppstår dessutom och ett massivt motstånd bland medarbetarna. Denna uppsats har studerat olika orsaken till motstånd under förändringsprocesser och funnit att kommunikation är en av de främsta framgångsfaktorerna men även att ledningen har en viktig roll att fylla genom att strukturera och organisera förändringsprocessen. Studien har genomförts som en fallstudie där vi undersökt både medarbetares, chefers och konsulters erfarenheter av förändringsarbeten och de motstånd som ofta uppkommer i samband med förändringsarbeten. I vår studie har vi arbetat utefter en kvalitativ metod med ett tolkande synsätt då vårt syfte varit att skapa förståelse kring ämnet.
