Syftet med denna studie är att öka förståelsen för hur behandlingspersonal upplever ochhanterar arbetet med flickor som har ett självskadebeteende. Vi har för att kunna svara pådessa frågor intervjuat sex personer som arbetar på två olika institutioner där man arbetarmed flickor som har ett självskadebeteende.

I studien kan vi sammanfattningsvis se att det väcker många starka känslor hos de somarbetar med dessa flickor. Vi såg att behandlingspersonalen uttryckte sig behöva stöd i sittarbete och för att behålla glädjen i arbetet men också för att skapa en förståelse kringflickans beteende. Behandlingspersonalen använder sig av tydliga förhållningssätt kring enflicka som har skadat sig, dessa förhållningssätt är dels till för de andra flickorna som borpå samma boende så att det inte ska bli en smittoeffekt. Det är också tillför den enskildaflickan som inte får uppmärksamhet så att beteendet befästs.

Vår slutsats är att personalgruppen är den viktigaste tillgången behandlingspersonalupplever sig ha i arbetet, där utbildning är ett av de sätt som är viktigt för attbehandlingspersonalen ska behålla entusiasmen i sitt arbete. Att få tillhöra ensammansvetsad arbetsgrupp ser vi ger personalen trygghet i arbetet. I arbetsgruppen fårman även möjlighet att reflektera över svåra händelser som gör att möjlighet finns till attbearbeta det man upplevt. Behandlingspersonal kan trots ett inarbetat arbetssätt känna enambivalens i sitt arbete.

The purpose of this study is to increase the understanding of how the treatment staffexperience and handles the work with girls who self-injure . In order to answer thesequestions we interviewed six people working at two different institutions where theyworked with girls who self-injure.

In this study, in summary, we see that it evokes many strong emotions in those who workwith these girls. We saw treatment staff expressing the need for support in their work tokeep work enjoyable but also to create an understanding of the girl's behavior.Treatment staff uses clear protocol dealing with a girl who is injured. The protocol arepartly for the other girls who live in the same housing so that there will not be a contagioneffect and partly for the individual girl who does not get the attention which otherwisewould reinforce the behavior.We also see that the treatment staff needs support in their work to maintain a goodtreatment for girls.

Our conclusion is that the staff group is the most important asset the treatment staff feelthat they have at work. Education is one of the important ways through which thetreatment staff maintain their enthusiasm to their work. Belonging to a cohesive workgroup provides staff with a feeling of security at their job place. Within a work group thereare also opportunities to reflect on difficult events. This allows the possibility to processwhat they experienced. Treatment personnel can despite an established approach feelambivalence in their work.
