Nurses' experience of care for patient with heartfailure (English)
Abstract [en]

Background:

There are national guidelines for cardiac care and the nursing care as outlined in the study. Caring of patients with heart failure consists of seeing the whole picture around the patient. The nurses are responsible for the care and information to the patient with heart failure. Furthermore, the nurse also is responsible for over-reporting among providers to provide heart failure patients continued good care. It is of interest to find out the nurses experiences of caring for patient with heart failure.

Aim:

The aim was to describe nurses' experience of caring for patients with heart failure.

Method:

Qualitative interview studies with nine nurses were contacted. The analysis resulted in five which led to two categories safety and collaboration.

Results:

To create peace for patients with heart failure became an important category, and the results showed a difference in how a nurse creates peace depending on the workplace and education. Second category was collusion in which the results showed that better cooperation is needed to create good nursing care for patients with heart failure.

Conclusion:

Nurses sees the creation of giving peace to patients with heart failure as an important part of nursing. Nurses create peace in different ways depending on the workplace and patient needs. All nurses believe that collaboration between different caregivers today malfunction.
