Adolescents and Cannabis : a questionnaire study on third year students in high school in a medium-sized municipality (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Young people today are said to be more positive to cannabis and that their cannabis use increases. This is reported in the media but it is also featured in numerous research articles. What is said to be behind adolescents increased positive view on cannabis is their media consumption and increased use of the Internet. Adolescent’s cannabis views may be important to investigate in order to get better prevention work.

The purpose of this study is to examine how youth looks at the use of cannabis and how different variables in their lives make them differ in their use of cannabis. The survey was conducted using a quantitative questionnaire which was distributed to approximately 30 % of the third year students in a secondary school. The questionnaire was interpreted after collection using a cross-table analysis and to see if there was any dependence between the variables a chi2-test was used. The study showed that men and adolescents who had used cannabis has a more positive view on cannabis than women and those who had not used cannabis
