This thesis deals with the design of an automatic intake for wheelsets in a painting station. Painting train wheelsets with a thin black coat helps to prevent wear and therefore cracks that could damage wheelsets and be dangerous. This is why the step of maintenance is really important. Today these wheelsets are manually brought one by one by an operator. This is a repetitive and difficult task as wheelsets are really heavy.
The solution that has been designed in this thesis allows to bring five wheelsets into the system and then the intake is automatically managed according to a buffer logic adapted to the cycle time of the line. The system brings one wheelset by one while being safe for operators and robust.
