Abstract [sv]

Bakgrund:

Slutsats:

Abstract [en]

Background:

Individuals working in HR play a crucial role within organizations, these individuals often face challenges related to work-life balance, not only within themselves but also among the individuals they support in their work. Previous research indicates that achieving a balance between work and personal life can lead to higher job satisfaction among individuals. Research within managerial positions suggests that people with manager positions perceive higher control over their work, providing an opportunity for a better balance between work and personal life. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine whether the levels of perceived work-life balance differ between the groups of HR-managers and HR-specialists.

Method and Materials:

The study employs a quantitative approach using a representative sample. 230 respondents participated in the survey, and the instrument used was 11-item WLB scale. Mean differences between the groups were examined, and a correlation analysis was conducted to explore the extent of these differences.

Results:

The study revealed a statistically significant difference between the groups. While this difference was relatively small (d=0.30), it did indicate that HR managers, on average, experience higher levels of work-life balance.

Conclusion:

The differences in the respondents experiences of work-life balance can be linked to the respondents position.
