Nurses have a main responsibility for the nursing care, which is based on person-centered care. One of the most important main focuses is to alleviate multidimensional suffering.

Aim: The purpose of this literature study was to describe nurses´ perceptions of caring the patients in the late palliative phase at home.

Method: A literature review, based on qualitative articles was performed. The data was collected from the databases Cinahl and PubMed. Finally, 10 articles were chosen and analyzed for the results.

Results: Two main themes and four subthemes were identified. The main themes were: The importance of conditions in the environment for nursing care and The importance of a coordinated teamwork for nursing care. The four sub themes were: The home environment impact, The lack of time as an obstacle, The fundamental collaboration and The lack of collaboration as an obstacle.
