A study in haptic and visual feedback for WELD-VR (English)
Abstract [en]

The goal of the study is to get a better understanding of how feedback in a virtual environment affects the users experience or change it. A mixed method is implemented where the user gets to explore four virtual environments that uses haptic feedback, visual feedback, both and no feedback. A semi-structured interview was conducted after and in between the versions. The result indicates that feedback generally helps the user understand the environment and gives a better understanding if the user is using the object in the right way which leads to a better experience, but feedback can also be irritating, distracting and make the environment more stressful
