Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Under the recent years the world has been in a pandemic (Public Health Agency, 2020). As a result of the covid-19 virus many employees have been forced to work from home, as we say, teleworking in order to reduce the spread of infection. The purpose of the present study was to take part in employees' experiences and experiences of teleworking and the return to the workplace and the current hybrid situation. Further the study also pays attention to the employee’s experiences of how teleworking and the hybrid situation have affected their well-being in working life overall. To answer the purpose of the study a qualitative method has been used, where we have conducted semi-structured interviews with seven employees who work at a medium-sized organization in the Västra Götalandsregion. The respondents are engineers of different ages and with different life situations. The study will consider the requirements, control and support model, work-family conflict and work-life balance. Collected data were analyzed using a thematic analysis. The results we got based on the team's interviews show that communication and support from colleagues are very important factors in getting a well-functioning telework. Employees appreciate flexibility during teleworking but prefer a combination of office work and teleworking, just to satisfy both social needs and efficiency. Based on the results of the study, it can be deduced that it is individual whether the employees feel that teleworking affects their well-being. Our point with this study is that it can contribute to knowledge about how employees experience telework both full-time, part-time and what is seen as important to make it work well.
