Streamlining of a booking system (English)
Abstract [sv]

Det här projektet handlar om att effektivisera ett nuvarande bokningssystem som existerar på Högskolan Väst. Detta bokningssystem används av flertal studenter inom teknikinriktade program under sina studier för arbetsintegrerade lärande. Problemet med det nuvarande bokningssystemet är att det inte finns något som visar på om studenterna är på plats eller inte. Syftet är att undvika tidsslöseri som pågår med det nuvarande systemet, då studenter missar värdefull tid i laborationssalen.

Resultatet är ett påbörjat system där studenter är tänkta att verifiera sin bokning när de kommer på plats i laborationssalen. Detta sker genom ett enkelt klick på en skärm som är kopplat till en Raspberry Pi där det byggda systemet ligger.

Abstract [en]

This project is about increasing the effectiveness of the current booking system that is in place at University West. The system is being used by several students within the field of studies that is computer engineering, to practice during their work-integrated education.The problem with the system that is in place is that students cannot see if other students are using their booked time slots. So, the purpose of this project is to avoid time wasted that the current system is causing students.

The result is a start to a system where students are meant to verify their own booking when they arrive at the lab room. With a simple click of a button on a monitor that is connected to a Raspberry Pi where the system is in place.
