Abstract [en]
In this study the aim is to analyze how the Education Board and Education Administration in Trollhättan advocate the new school reform, with help from the theories. More specifically it examines the elements of assimilation, multiculturalism and interculturalism in the new school reform in Trollhättan.
The study is a single-case study with a qualitative approach which tries to identify the theories based on social constructivism. The analysis tool made by the authors conclude that language and text allow one to make interpretations of different concepts. Through gathering of documents and interviews from the Education Administration and Education Board, the study highlights and illustrates the reality of the new school reform.
The arguments have focused on promoting the implementation of this reform, hence the study found that the theories of assimilation, multiculturalism and interculturalism is prominent in the overall interpretation of the data. The theories have different interpretations regarding the role that the new school reform plays in the work for increased integration.
