Abstract [sv]

Syftet med föreliggande kvalitativa studie var att undersöka hur enhetschefer inom äldreomsorgen upplever sin egen psykosociala arbetsmiljö under pandemin COVID-19.

Datainsamlingen utgick från semistrukturerade intervjuer där frågorna var utformade utefter Karasek och Theorells krav-kontroll-stöd-modellen. Sex stycken enhetschefer inom äldreomsorgen medverkade i studien.

Analysen av materialet skedde genom en tematisk analys av data där resultatet redovisas i form av teman. De fyra övergripande temana som uppenbarade sig i analysen var prioritering av arbetsuppgifter, separera arbete från fritid, stöd samt viktiga egenskaper som chef.

I diskussionsdelen nämns det att flertalet respondenter upplevde att de hade svårt att släppa arbetet när de kom hem men att de ändå såg positivt på sin egen psykosociala arbetsmiljö trots omständigheterna kring pandemin. 

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this qualitative study was to investigate how first line managers in elderly care experience their own psychosocial work environment during the COVID-19 pandemic. Karasek and Theorell’s Job-Demand-Control-Support- model were used in the study.

The data collection based on semi-structured interviews with six managers working within elderly care.

The analysis done through a thematic analysis of the data. Four overall themes were revealed in the analysis. These four general themes prioritization of tasks, separating work from leisure, support and important qualities as a manager.

The discussion section that the majority of respondents felt that they found it difficult to separate work leisure, but that they were overall satisfied with their own psychosocial work environment despite the circumstances in regard to the pandemic.
