Abstract [en]

This dissertation examines sustainable mobility as a policy issue in a debate within the Bundestag. The purpose of this research is to conduct an in-depth analysis of the perspectives towards sustainability in the Bundestag. In practice, we investigate how "sustainability" is represented in the sustainable mobility debate in the Bundestag. This thesis finds that the debate protocol from the sustainable mobility debate in the Bundestag upon analysis revealed the perspectives towards sustainability present in the Bundestag. The two major perspectives we identify are pro-economic and environmentalist respectively. Our empirical results show that the ecological sustainability pillar of the "triple bottom-line" model receives the most attention in the Bundestag. Our analytical framework is a combination of two models; the "What is the problem represented to be?" and "triple bottom-line" approaches. The framework is used in conjunction with a qualitative content analysis from a social constructivist perspective. Our study enables future longitudinal research on this particular case.

Abstract [sv]

Vårt analytiska ramverk grundades i en kombination av två modeller; "What is the problem represented to be?" och "triple bottom-line".
