Abstract [sv]

Bakgrund: Föräldrars psykiska hälsa kan påverkas av att deras barn begår brott. De kan förlora både identitet och sammanhang. Psykisk ohälsa kan påverka lidande och därför kan föräldrarnas delaktighet i den unges vård drabbas. Syfte: Syftet med litteraturstudien är att analysera och sammanställa tidigare forskning om hur föräldrars psykiska hälsa påverkas av att ha ett barn som begått brott. Metod: Denna studien är en litteraturbaserad studie med systematiska sökningar. Åtta kvalitativa artiklar inkluderades och analyserades utifrån en femstegsmodell. Analysen resulterade till fyra teman och elva subteman. Resultat: Resultatet visar att föräldrars hälsa påverkades negativt i deras omsorg till den unge, i deras identitet, acceptans och resulterade i konsekvenser inom hela familjen. Konklusion: Det framkom att föräldrars psykiska hälsa påverkas negativt på många olika plan, därför behöver är det viktigt att föräldrar får stöd för att uppnå god hälsa.

Abstract [en]

Background: Parents mental health can be affected by their children committing crimes. They can lose their identity and coherence. Mental illness can generate suffering and therefore is parents´ involvement in the youth´s care affected. Aim: The aim of this literature study is to analyze and compile past research how parents´ mental health is affected by having a child who has committed a crime. Method: This study is a literature-based study with systematic searches. Eight qualitative articles were included and analyzed with a fivesteps model. The analysis resulted in four themes and eleven subthemes. Results: The result shows that parent's mental health was affected in their care for the child, in their identity, acceptance and resulted in consequences within the family. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that parent's mental health is affected in many different ways. Therefore, it is important that parents receive support to achieve good health.
