Abstract [en]
This research is a bachelor's thesis on the representation of Brexit in the Guardian. The research identifies problems represented by the Guardian in order to see how the representations have changed. The analytical framework is based on the WPR-approach to be able to identify problems. Since the WPR-approach is based on Framing-theory, frames set towards Brexit is also identified in order to indicate a change. Agenda-setting will be used in the conclusion to give the reader an understanding of the importance of examining newspapers. The research shows that the problem representation has shifted from in the beginning identifying the problem to be based on the European officials' way of handling the European Union. In later years, this thesis shows that the Guardian represents the main problem to be nationalism and therefor sets the frames very negative towards Brexit.
