Abstract [sv]

Vi skapade ett elektroniskt formulär med tre frågeenkäter; The Negative Acts Questionnaire-Perpetrators (NAQ-P), The Short Dark Triad (SD3) och The Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ), vilken delades via sociala medier.

Abstract [en]

Interest in dark personality traits such as narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy (The Dark Triad) has increased in recent years. As future HR-practitioners, we are interested in investigating whether there is a correlation between Dark Triad and bullying, Dark Triad and self-perceived individual work performance as well as bullying and individual work performance. In the study, we will also perform several regression analyses where we examine these relations after controlling for the other variables. We created an electronic form with three questionnaires; The negative Acts Questionnaire-Perpetrators (NAQ-P), The Short Dark Triad (SD3), and The Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ), which were shared via social media. Through a snowball selection, we collected data from 198 professionals. The results of the study showed that (1) bullying correlated with all dimensions of Dark Triad, (2) counterproductive work behavior correlated with Machiavellianism, whereas task- and contextual performance correlated with narcissism and (3) bullying correlated with counterproductive work behavior. The results also showed that 22% of the variance in bullying can be explained by Dark Triad and individual work performance and that Dark Triad together with bullying explains parts of the variance in individual work performance (between 6 and 11%)
