Bakgrund: Diabetes är en långvarig sjukdom som kan upplevas begränsande i det dagliga livet. Målet med behandlingen är att minska risken för kort- och långsiktiga komplikationer hos individer med Diabetes typ 2. Att arbeta i ett tvärprofessionellt team är en tradition inom diabetesvården idag vilket ökar kvalitet och patientsäkerhet i vården. Förutsättningarna för att arbeta i team varierar inom primärvården. För att öka förståelsen för diabetessjuksköterskors upplevelser av teamarbete görs denna studie.

Syfte: Syftet med studien var att beskriva diabetessjuksköterskors erfarenhet av teamarbete med patienter med diabetes typ 2 i primärvården Metod: Studien har genomförts med en kvalitativ metod. Semistrukturerade intervjuer med sex diabetessjuksköterskor inom primärvården genomfördes. Resultatet analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys.

Resultat: Resultatet genererade i två huvudkategorier; Stöd och trygghet med subkategorierna stöd och trygghet för diabetessjuksköterskan och stöd och trygghet för patienten samt Teamets roll viktig med subkategorierna en gemensam målsättning och samlad kunskap, kompetens och intresse.

Slutsats: När ett diabetesteam fungerar känner diabetessjuksköterskorna sig trygga, får stöd och upplever det underlättande med ett delat ansvar. Kunskapsutbyte leder till utvecklande för egen del och vinning för diabetessjuksköterskan. Vården blir bättre genom gemensam målsättning vilket genererar trygghet för patienten. När ett diabetesteam inte fungerar på grund av bristande intresse, engagemang eller kunskap kan det leda till splittring i teamet och negativa konsekvenser för patienten och den personcentrerade vården. Detta genom bristande gemensam målsättning, otydliga roller och icke fungerande teamarbete

Background: Diabetes is a long-term illness and can be experienced as a limitation in daily life. The goal of the treatment is to reduce the risk of short- and longterm complications in individuals with type 2 diabetes. Working in a multidisciplinary team is a tradition in diabetes care today which increases quality and patient safety in care. It is known that the prerequisites for working in teams vary in primary care. In order to increase the understanding of the specialist trained nurse in diabetes experiences of teamwork, this study is conducted.

Aim: The aim with the study was to describe the specialist trained nurse in diabetes experiences of teamwork when working with patients with diabetes type 2 in primary health care centers.

Method: The study is based on a qualitative method. Semi-structured interviews with six diabetes nurses working in primary health care was performed and the material collected was then analyzed with qualitative content analysis.

Results: The result are based on two main categories; Support and security with the subcategories support and security for the specialist trained nurse in diabetes nurse and support and security for the patient and The function of the team important with the subcategories on common goal and collective knowledge, competence and interest.

Conclusion: When a diabetes team is functioning, the specialist trained nurse in diabetes feel secure, receive support and experience the ease with shared responsibility. The exchange of knowledge leads to development for one´s own benefit and for the benefit of the specialist trained nurse in diabetes. Care is improved through common goals, which creates safety for the patient. When a diabetes team does not function due to lack of interest. commitment or knowledge it can lead to team fragmentation and negative consequences for the patient and the person-centrered care.
