Abstract [sv]

Denna kandidatuppsats ämnar undersöka utifrån studenters perspektiv hur lärarens användande av Canvas ger möjligheter för att skapa goda lärmiljöer för högskolestudenter. Syftet med studien är att fånga upp studenters upplevelser av hur de och sina lärare använder sig utav av Canvas Learning management system för att skapa en bra lärmiljö inom Canvas. Detta gjordes genom semistrukturerade intervjuer. Empirin ställdes sedan mot Chickering & Gamsons (1987) sju principer för god praxis vid högre utbildning. Resultatet av studien visade att Canvas ger alla möjligheter för att skapa en bra lärmiljö i 6 av de 7 principerna. Resultatet visar dock att mer arbete behöver läggas inom Canvas från både studenter och lärares håll för att uppnå ännu bättre resultat.

Abstract [en]

This paper aims to examine from the students' perspective how the teachers' use of Canvas Learning management system provides opportunities for creating good learning environments for students in higher education. The purpose of the study is to capture students' experiences of how they and their teachers use Canvas to create good learning environments within Canvas. The empirical data was collected through semi-structured interviews with seven students. The data was then compared to Chickering & Gamson's (1987) Seven Principles for Good Practice in Undergraduate Education. The results showed that Canvas provides good opportunities to create good learning environments and six out of seven principles can be considered as fulfilled. However, the result shows that more work needs to be done within Canvas from both teachers and students to achieve even better results.
