Bakgrund: Suicid är ett globalt folkhälsoproblem där samhällelig stigmatisering, skuld och skam skapar ett stort lidande och krisreaktioner hos de efterlevande. Kunskap kring hur suicid påverkar de efterlevande är begränsad samtidigt som behovet av att utveckla en kunskapsbas gällande stödinsatser är stort. Syfte: Att undersöka faktorer som kan underlätta efterlevandes livssituation efter närståendes suicid. Metod: En litteraturöversikt baserad på 9 vetenskapliga artiklar har genomförts där materialet har granskats och analyserats enligt en hermeneutisk ansats i ett försök att förstå efterlevandes livsvärld och vidare behov enligt ett fenomenologiskt synsätt. Artiklarna som analyserades var hämtade från databaserna Cinahl och PsycInfo/PsycArticles. Resultat: Analysen resulterade i två övergripande teman, "förändra samhällelig stigmatisering" och "praktisk hjälp". Dessa Teman och kopplade subteman visade att efterlevande har behov av individuellt anpassade stödinsatser under långtid för att underlätta den egna livssituationen, undvika stigmatisering, isolering och för att hitta en ny mening med livet. Konklusion: Samhällelig kunskapsutveckling gällande bemötande och stödinsatser för efterlevande anhöriga är nödvändig för att förhindra psykisk ohälsa och eventuellt egen suicid hos efterlevande.

Background: Suicide is a global public health problem where social stigma, guilt and shame create great suffering and reactions of crisis amongst the survivors. Knowledge on how a suicide affects suicide-survivors is limited, while the need to develop a knowledgebase regarding possible support is great. Aim: To study factors that may facilitate and ease the living situation of suicide-survivors after the suicide of a relative or friend. Method: A literature review based on 9 scientific articles has been conducted where the material has been examined and analysed according to a phenomenological, hermeneutic approach in an attempt to understand the survivor's life experiences and further need for support measures post suicide. The articles that were included in the analysis were retrieved from the Cinahl and PsycInfo/PsycArticles databases. Results: The analysis resulted in two general themes, "changing social stigma" and "practical help". These themes and linked subthemes showed that survivors need individually tailored support efforts for a long time to facilitate their own life situation, avoid stigmatization, isolation and to find a new meaning in life. Conclusion: Social knowledge and development regarding care and support for the surviving relatives, post-suicide is necessary to prevent poor mental health and furthermore, possible suicide by the survivors themself.
