Today's digitalization and the balance between work and private life among HR managers (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

In a world characterized by digitalization and flexibility, it is a challenge to balance all the demands that are placed on us, both at work and in private life. Today's opportunities for flexible schedules and available through digital communication devices create both balance and imbalance between work and private life. Many people find that today's digitalization enables a balance between work and private life, while it has also contributed to the work encroaching private life.

The purpose of this study is to achieve a deeper understanding of how HR-managers in the private sector experience the balance between work and private life in relation to today's digitalization. With this study we hope to highlight both the positive and negative factors that digitalization causes, and which promote or hinder the balance between work and private life. We also want to highlight how HR-managers experience this balance.

The information was collected through qualitative semi-structured interviews, with eight HR managers, from partly different companies. T

he result of a thematic analysis showed that there were both inner and outer factors that influenced the balance between work and private life. The results also showed that HR-managers experienced both positive and negative factors of digitalization in work.
