Abstract [en]
This research is articulated as a single – N qualitative and comparative design where the socialist ideology is utilized to analyze Nicolae Ceaușescu's ideology at the beginning of his career as general secretary of the Romanian Communist Party and at the end of his career with the fall of Communism in the Eastern Bloc.
In order to do so, a qualitative textual analysis was conducted to locate the expression of socialist ideology in the speeches held during the RCP congresses concerning the five central themes of the socialist ideology namely: community, cooperation, equality as political value, distribution of material benefits and rewards in society and common ownership.
From the analysis, it resulted that Ceaușescu's statements in the four analyzed congresses maintained the same socialist ideological line therefore his ideology has not mutated over time.
