Abstract [en]

In this report we combined a Raspberry Pi with Tor and made it portable by using a cellu-lar internet connection(3G). It also features a power bank so that complete portability is met. As far as we know there are no similar products. So this project may be the first to com-bine a Raspberry Pi, Tor, 3G, cellular connection and a battery pack. Tor is a well known anonymity service which encrypts routed traffic. When Tor is used anonymity is prioritized over performance, as the Tor-network is for many reasons, slow. The main purpose with this project is to build and evaluate a portable anonymity router, which we call the PAR. To achieve success, usage of the PAR should not contain complex configurations, Linux interactions and so on. The user is supposed to power it on by press-ing a button, connect to the PAR’s Wi-Fi network and enter a password. There was a user scenario on how to use the product, and this scenario has been tested by 3 users. The users were handed instructions on how to use the PAR. This was done to make sure that the PAR was not too difficult to use, the product that is presented in this report should not be hard to use. The evaluation shows that the different parts and software that has been combined works and not difficult to use. The only thing a user needs to do is to connect to the access point of the PAR (Portable Anonymity Router). Then the PAR and Tor takes care of the rest.
