This thesis examines the debate concerning integration in the Swedish Riksdag in and between the periods of 2010-2014 and 2015-2016. The aim of this study is to identify if and how there is a correlation between immigration policy and integration debate in the Swedish Riksdag. This comparative study is made by using a qualitative design with a content analysis in order to answer the research question. A comparison between the two periods is made by analysing four different political debates, two from each period, concerning integration. The reason for analysing the two time-periods is due to a drastic change in Sweden’s immigration policy made by the government as an outcome of Sweden receiving the highest number of asylum seekers in its history. It is identified that a minor change in the integration debate has occurred between the two periods in terms of the distribution and intensity of the lines of argument
