Sense of coherence and social support co-vary with stress (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The current study was a survey that examined covariation between stress, sense of coherence and social support. The study also compared the differences in perceived stress, depending on the number of exercise days a week, civil status and differences in perceived social support and civil status. There were 49 students in adult education who participated in the survey (40 women and 9 men between 20-58 years). The result showed a highly significant negative correlation between SOC and perceived stress. This is in line with previous research (Korotkov & Hannah 1994). The results also showed a medium negative significant correlation between perceived stress and social support, which also aligns with previous research (Glozah & Pevalin, 2014). In the regression analysis predicted SOC stress but social support predicted no stress.
