Abstract [sv]

I den här rapporten jämfördes två olika VPN-teknologier, dessa var DMVPN Spoke-toSpoke och Site-to-Site GRE-IPsec VPN. VPN-teknologierna testades i två olika scenarion. I det första scenariot skickades videoströmmat material från en PC till en annan PC. I det andra scenariot utfördes ett stresstest där en stor mängd paket under en begränsad tid skickades från en PC till en annan PC. Undersökning visade bortfallet av paket som uppstod genom VPN-tunneln med dessa två VPN-teknologier. Implementationen av dessa två VPN- teknologier utvärderades för att se om den ena var enklare att konfigurera än den andra och om de lämpade sig för olika typer av organisationer.

Det som visades efter testerna var att det inte var någon skillnad i bortfall av paket mellan det vå VPN-teknologierna. Sett till implementation var DMVPN den bättre VPN-teknologin att välja då den möjliggör för bättre skalbarhet och enklare konfiguration.

Abstract [en]

This report compared two different VPN technologies, DMVPN Spoke-to-Spoke and Site-to-Site GRE-IPsec VPN. The VPN technologies were tested in two different scenarios. In the first scenario video-streamed material was sent from one PC to another PC. In the second scenario, a stress test was performed in which a large number of packets were sent from one PC to another for a limited time. Investigation showed the loss of packets that occurred through the VPN tunnel with these two VPN technologies. The implementation of these two VPN technologies was evaluated to see if one was easier to configure than the other and if they were suitable for different types of organizations.

What was shown after the tests was that there was no difference in loss of packets between these two VPN technologies. In terms of implementation, DMVPN was the better VPN technology to choose from, as it allows for better scalability and simpler configuration.
